I love shopping here.  I only live five minutes away and parking is so easy.  Very clean and a very friendly staff, including the owners.  So many things that I have never seen before in a grocery store.  I am very willing to try new things, especially from the Mediterranean.  Excellent Greek style yogurt, along with others that I have never tried but am planning on now.  They have at the least ten different types of feta from Europe, one that is a creamy style (from Romania, I think, not positive, but so good).   Also a great variety of olives.  Love the Mammoth ones, mmmm!!!   Oh, I bought the spicy olives last night, and they are good.  Ask for a taste of any of the feta cheese and olives, you won't be disappointed.  I like the wheat tortillas and they are are usually hot when I buy them.  Since I started shopping here I make my own hummus with the roasted red peppers from Bulgaria.  As good as any of the pre-made hummus and less expensive.  Also, many very interesting veggies and such that I have never seen before.  They have started adding things like organic milk and unsalted butter, so I am happy that I don't have to go to another store to get these.  I think a store like this makes people a little more adventurous in their cooking, and that is a great thing.  It seems that many people feel a little piece of home when they shop here, as I have heard other shoppers say.  Finally we have a wonderful place like this in Chula Vista

Wow... the variety in this place blew my mind and the produce was super cheap. I wish it wasn't so far, because I would be here every day. I saw coffee from Bosnia, plum butter from Croatia, tea and spices from India, premium organic EVO from Greece, sardines from Portugal, and curry pastes for Thai food. This is an ethnic food gourmand's wet dream!

this location is MUCH cleaner than the City Heights and Escondido/Poway stores. i think the selection is wider too at the H Street location since it also includes Mexican groceries and some Filipino groceries.  I think it is neat to have a smoothies kiosk inside the store since getting fresh fruit is convenient.

Chula Vista must want me back because it got a new wonderful Henry's and this place right after I moved away. Very good produce selection and 'ethnic' foods selection. Good prices and good quality. Better than shopping at the big three.

Even if you are not interested in acquiring exotic-sounding produce like ong-choy,shambalileh and shingqua, there is one GREAT reason to shop here: Chef Tony.Yes, Chef Tony of Chef Tony's Mediterranean Cuisine on El Cajon is now dishing out most of his restaurant's menu here: the delicious melt -in-your-mouth chicken shawarma, the magically delicious lamb kafta, the scrumptious Lebanese chicken salad are all here. Many thanks to that vision of radiant loveliness, fellow yelper Melanie W., who ran into Tony's wife Suzy and e-mailed me his whereabouts. Everything is still as delicious as it was in his restaurant and he is also still catering , so we may have to throw a party just so he can cater it.He is in the back of the store, between the giant butcher case and the cheese counter with 12, count 'em, 12 ! types of feta cheese. If you don't have time to have him fix you a plate ( this is NOT fast food),they have some of his tabouleh, hummus and salads in the refrigerated case where the cakes are ( closer to the cash registers ). Enjoy !

I went into this place expecting a Mexican style produce store.  Crates and crates of vegetables and fruits.  No, I got white bread grocery store.  Then I looked closer.  Whipped cream and pineapple flavored fruits known as cherimoya were in attendance as well as nopales, but only token nopales, already cut and bagged.  Blood oranges?  bitter sweet love of my life, I make you bleed and vampirize your essence.  CHEAP!     I bought 5 smallish bunches of celery for a buck, 2 pounds of broccoli for a buck and it was short stemmed, Navel oranges 25 cents a pound, Golden Delicious Apples for 99 cent a pound.  I got some bulk teas and spices, fairly inexpensively and a can of beans.     Why, oh why does the pork have it's own case?     Why, oh why are there twenty different brands of hummus?  And why are there so many varieties of hummus from those brands.     Then I noticed the headscarves.  The descendants of Mohamed's daughters shopped here.  Worked here.  Made fruit smoothies here.  There was pita bread aplenty.  I didn't realize so many middle eastern bakeries were in delivery distance.  And then it hit me.  I want some greasy falafel.  Greasy and nasty and wrapped in a pita.  With tzatziki or a nice garlic hummus. Can of beans?  Garbanzos. So, in summation, This place is better than Henry's cause it's a little cheaper and lot emptier.  I could move through the aisles and not be accosted by small children wielding shopping carts or hit and run viejas.I will return.

Lots of ethnic food that's hard to find and not so hard to find in San Diego, along with a great produce selection. You'll mostly find Middle Eastern and Indian stuff here, along with some filipino and mexican foods.

Strangest market I've ever shopped at, but I loved it.It provides a wonderful mix of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern and Mexican food. They have a good selection of produce, dairy (yogurt and cheese, YES), meats, and poultry, but my favorite part of the whole store is undoubtedly the bakery. I found here some of the finest Mexican sweet bread I have ever had,as well as other pastries and breads I'd never seen before. They offer plenty of samples, so have no fear and dig in. They're alllllll good, they're all fluffy or crunchy depending on what you pick, and they're all straight out of the ovens.I buy all of my Coke here, because it's insanely expensive everywhere else. If you're adventurous like me, you will really enjoy the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern products. My mother and I are not very familiar with them, but we've been having a blast picking things out randomly and raving about them. The cashiers are so friendly! I love them! I will definitely be back soon.

The produce here is cheap! They have veggies I have never heard of are sold here. Exotic dried fruits, nuts, oils, and herbs and spices. The meat selection is pretty good. I have come a few times, and the butcher was really cool about slicing it all up for me.I agree with the others, I have never really come across such a diverse supermarket. They have Mexican goods, Filipino goods, Mediterranean goods, Indian goods, Japanese goods, American goods, Middle Eastern and more. All sorts of crazy goodies! Seriously, I don't even know what else they have, I couldn't even read half the labels. Haha. One thing I really liked was that they had Ube ice cream. YUM!  All those Filipino Magnolia brand ice creams. OMG I fell in love. Haha. Oh and they even carry Thai Iced tea, in a bottle. That is hard to find in the south bay area. They even have Mexican sweet bread, a smoothie stand, and get this......... they sell hookahs! Yeah, you heard right. Hookahs at a grocery store! Trip out! Even the shisha! Haha. I had to take a double take. I was like "Say whaaaaaat?!" You can buy toilet paper and a hookah at the same time.

I am sure that Vons must be crapping in their pants now that Fresh and Easy and this market have invaded their monopoly on H Street! This place reminds me of a time long ago when supermarkets measured everything out and you put them into separate bags. They have a large selection of middle eastern foodstuffs, some Asian and some Mexican. They fill a great niche here in this part of Chula Vista since there were no markets like that anywhere.Let all of the stepford housewives shop at Vons.It is North Park and Fresh and Easy for me!

The produce is pretty cheap but sometimes it is also not of the highest quality. What I do like about this place is the selection of ethnic food. It's mostly from the middle east (both arab and jewish) and they also have some stuff from Armenia and other countries that use the Cyrillic alphabet.I am bummed that they don't have Turkish Tea though.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!Very wide range of very fresh and inexpensive. We have been Henry's shoppers for years and now shop exclusively at North Park for Produce.Their selections are wider and fresher than their competitors and they have a very liberal outlook that attracts a younger, fresher crowd. We have discovered a lot of exciting ethnic foods here as well as super fresh meat and cheese. As a hookah smoker, I buy hookah supplies from here as well.My only criticism is that is seems primarily geared toward Middle Eastern cultures - we would like to see a wider variety of Asian and European herbs, spices and other products.

My wife found this market and I am glad she did.In our home I am the main cook and I like more than meat and potatoes. I like to cook Indian and Mediterranean foods. I had to go to Kearny mesa and Miramar to get some of the spices and vegtables. Now I can get baby eggplants and most of the spices to do my Indian dishes right here in Chula Vista.Other posters have commented on the deli counter items. I too have tried the different Feta s.The lady at the counter is all to eager to give samples, but she already knows once you taste them you will buy some.Try some of the olives too,bet you buy some.Add some flat bread and you have lunch.Produce prices are way cheaper the the grocery chain stores. I use to shop at Henry's a lot but after the strike they got busy.I only have to wait for one person in front of me at North Park and I am out of there.Sometimes I still need to go to KER or Balboa International Market, but now its so nice to find what I need right here in Chula Vista.

this is my favorite market! i was coming back from the gym one day and i noticed it here and thought 'no way! this is the best day ever!' why am i so stoked over a market you ask? well, i love to make greek style food. henry's is nice but they only have 1 type of feta, and one type of grape leaves, and no greek yogurt. at north park i am up to my eyeballs in feta and olives and hummus and peppers. i am smiling just thinking about it. :-) oh, and they have great prices on produce. who knew? the employees are always nice and friendly. hey, you can buy charcoal and tobacco for the hookah too!

Two dozen fresh hot corn tortillas for .99 daily.  Also fresh flour tortillas daily.  Pitas are less than 1/2 the price at regular grocery chains and way fresher.  If that's not enough to lure you in, try a huge bag of spring mix for $2.99 that will feed a family of 6 for a week.  They just raised their huge bag of spinach price to $4.50 but it's still quite a deal.  Unfortuately the word is getting out because the lines are definitely starting to get longer.  I love the wide range of ethnic cuisine as well.  And go to the deli where they are very friendly and will let you try all kinds of cheeses, olives and deli meats.  Pepper turkey is awesome.  I told them that the only thing missing is a nice sample of red wine to accompany the samples.
