Oh my. . .How can I forget the last time I performed here. . .and some months later, trying to promote the place for 18+ events. . .but on a bad night.I do recommend this place for 18+ crowd, but be prepared to either be in love, or to be MAJORLY disappointed. . . .Pop Noir is worth certain times, but it basically fits my views from 2 years ago. . . .Layout is pretty bad. But since people want to dance, the layout is ok.  The new stage is limited. . .good for VIP's, but just lame overall. They could makje use of the area behind the curtains. . .but alas it isn't worth their time to. . . .Oh well. . . .I'm a hip-hop head (Mos Def, Visionaries, Murs, etc), and it filled a void for a little bit.  It just wasn't enough to bring inn the people on a Thursday night (told ya it was a bad night). . . .2 stars for the memories of "This Side Down 2007". . . .we broke their backs this night!

The place does not look appealing at all and the sound system/lights are not even close to decent.  I did not expect much but Static Lounge does not come close to any of my expectations.  But who knows, I could have gone on a bad day.  Either way, I would not be able to go back even if I wanted to..I got kicked out but I'm TOTALLY okay with that.  Shows how much I love this place right?

I give this club a 5 star rating not because I work there but because when I moved to San Diego at the age of 18, we had to drive all the way up to Temecula to a club  called Stampede, the security was and still are douche bags, while the security at static are the coolest bouncers ever.The Sound system is amazing, the entire club rattles from bass, I have promoted at a few of the clubs downtown and there sound system is weak, I need bass, plus you can hear all the lyrics on top of the bass at static.  The drinks leave something to be desired because of restrictions we only have a beer and wine license, however the drinks taste decent but they still do the job and get you crunk because we double the volume of liquor therefore you are still getting enough to get you drunk.Saturday nights kick ass, the DJ rocks (DJ STEEZ) and there is always a line around the corner by midnight.  One Friday a month is POP NOIR, which is a really fun night and there are definitely more girls then guys, good luck finding any other club in America like that.  All through out the month are different events on other days of the week so the club entertains all different kinds of crowds, if you just want to dance, then go on Saturday.That dude Nate A., his opinion doesn't matter, he has obviously never been to another club if he thinks the sound system is weak.  Even in the front storage room the walls are rattling.  The other dude judging the battle of the bands night, Mike S.  went on a bands night, its a dance club, the sound system caters to DJ's not guitars.  Those were there own amps too dude, did ya think of that one?And finally, the drinks are cheap, they are priced for the budgeted college student, as an experienced alcoholic and bartender, I know how much other clubs charge, on a Friday or Saturday you won't find a $4 beer in any dance club, maybe bars, but then you aren't dancing, who wants that?

I love this place. Its 18+ so you can bring all them babies out downtown. They don't serve alcohol which is fine, leaves out all the drunk drama. 1 star for great music2 stars for theme'd nights3 stars for hookah (vanilla cherry is amazing )  4 stars for the girls only dance stage5 stars for nice staff and cool people to dance with.Ive been there 3 times and hated it for these reasons.1. Creepy men too old for entry2. the clubs empty until 3 hrs after it opens3. DJ played the same songs over and over.5. The Music sucked ( who does the chacha slide in the damn club lets save it for a tacky school dance)4. The dance floor is really small and over crowdedAtleast one of the bouncers was cute :- / he earned this place a star Nice flirty bouncers, and friendly workers and nice music occasionally. I went here once for May Star's night, Pop Noir. Greatest thing since sliced bread if you like to dance. Like for serial, everyone was on the dance floor....I have never seen this before, in all my life of San Diego. DJ Groundfloor is bangin'It was pretty cool, but it's probably better if you are either under 32. Fairly good selection of bottled beers!

Went for Maystar's night and it wasn't bad at all. I wish they served alcohol but other than that everyone was stellar. I got free NOS shots and was feeling like bungholio!!! haha The crowd was great. Employees were out of the way friendly. May's fashion show was great. Not bad for an 18 and up club.

Went here on Sunday night at the request of a VERY SPECIAL friend (actually, all my friends are special. awww)Anywho, this place is cool if youa. look young (or are at least young at heart)b. are into the trendy scenec. can danced. like astrojumpse. enjoy dance music that's so loud it makes the restroom walls shake *boom shuh-boom shuh-boom shuh*f. are not a predatorThe drink I ordered (a double vodka cran) was watered down.Bartender made it SUPER fast...either he was on speed, or the drinks are premade- I think  it's the former.It's a good thing, since I had to drive up to O'side anyway.Cute place. If May is hosting an event or Edgar is spinning, make sure to check it out. They're my peeps ;)

Actually got into POP NOIR this time around and oooo was it a disappointment!Small venue with no visual appeal.  HORRIBLE techno music (it was DJ GroundFloor that night).Tiny hookah lounge outfront "with not enough pillows". lolOh, and NO ALCOHOL!The event was sooo boring! The only decent thing about that night was the fact that they served hookah.  But after an hour of soberly smoking Green Apple Candy while listening to the same BOOMA BOOMA BOOMA bass beat from what seemed like a never-ending bad techno song my gal friend I knew it was time to go.Thank god the cover was only $5! Although now I wish I had my Lincoln back! :( Tried to go to POP NOIR -- Static's indie/electro, fashion/dance party they host once a month -- the…
