I really like this place. Fresh produce, good meat and spices. Being a white male I stand out like a soar thumb but that's ok. The prices are worth it. I just wish they accepted credit cards under $10. The problem is if I just shop produce I can't hit the $10 mark! Bitter sweet

good for produce and fresh pita bread.i bought a few satsuma tangerines here today and they were the best tangerines i've had in awhile.. sweet and juicy.the produce is much cheaper than regular supermarkets in the area.the mangos looked good too and were 59 cents each. they also have a decent sized deli with cold cuts and various cold salads like hummus and baba ghanoush.. i didn't really like either of them though. if you want basmati rice it either comes in a 10 pound bag or a tiny box to make pilaf.. i was looking for a 2 or 3 lb bag, but those looked like the only options.i think their pita bread is delivered daily, which is a definite plus. + great tangerines- some stuff only comes in bulk- takes a few minutes to find a parking spot

This is an alright market not the best, its just average it has what you need but there are better markets in the area.

I love this market. The employees are very friendly. The produce is super cheap. The meats are mostly halal. They sell hookahs and StarBuzz shisha too! That is the reason I went in, then fell in love with the whole store!

I love meandering through grocery stores in the middle of the night when there are no crowds ~ therapeutic, very zen. So it's pretty rare when I'd go to a market in broad daylight. At Mom's request, I made an exception.Despite the crowds, I enjoyed viewing the global range of products offered in this Persian market (I picked up a tub of Mountain High organic plain yogurt along with chocolate bars from the Ukraine). If you need a hookah, you'll find several here along other cultural wares. They have a deli offering fresh naan (oven on premises), a variety of Middle Eastern salads, dolmas, etc. They also have a produce section and meat counter. Super Irvine is also Super Cheap.I don't know why I keep going to non-middle eastern markets to buy things like pita bread and wonder why they are not soft like the ones from any decent restaurant when I practically live next door to Super Irvine. I walked in here for the first time in the 4 years I've been in Irvine and picked up a bag of pita bread and some really cheap spices. When I got home, I ate all the pita bread by the end of the evening. So now I have to include this market as part of my regular stops for fresh pita bread. I'm a bit afraid of the produce side of the store since there are flying hoards of fruit flies buzzing around, but hey at least I got my pitas. It is weird how empty this is during the week. I thought they were closed when I pulled up at 5pm on Monday. Nope, just not as hectic as the weekends.Found my pitas for only 69 cents(!!) Have to go back to stroll around more, though. There is a great selection, but I was a little hesitant about the aesthetics. My first time was about 15 minutes ago. I sped home to Yelp how amazing my experience was. First, the staff was SO LOVELY and FRIENDLY. I was practically escorted throughout the store because they probably figured the blonde wearing cowboy boots and a fedora hadn't been here before! LOL. I kid, but what a magical place!!! All the produce was beautiful, and what a variety of things you don't get at your big stores or even Traders. One man guided me over to the place where they BAKE YOU FRESH NAAN BEFORE YOUR EYES!!!!!! Omg, i dived right in ...i almost died, how good it is. Of course I got one pound of hummus that all you Yelpers were raving about and boy is it heavenly. He makes it FRESH DAILY!!!!! I die!!!!!! My husband who hates hummus, devoured it with the fresh hot naan I brought home. Goes to show, fresh, organic, authentic wins everytime. Ok, so i filled the cart with veggies, fruits, and other middle-eastern delights and my bill was ONLY $36.14 OMG. Is this heaven? No, it's Super Irvine.I've lived in Irvine for six years and have been to both Wholesome Choice (the slightly upscale and larger version of Super Irvine) and I'm not Persian. Here's my neutral take on this: Come on a weekday, Persian markets are notoriously packed on the weekends. If you don't mind the lack of air conditioning and fruit flies buzzing about, the fruit and fresh vegetable prices are CHEAP. You cannot beat their produce prices. I paid $8 for a bag of peaches, mangos and their wonderful canary melons. If you're a fruit fan, then buy your fruits here; they have a wide selection and the prices, without sounding redundant, ARE CHEAP!

One word: CROWDED.They should make that place a two level supermarket from all the traffic it gets. Its way to crowded and the meat should not be that close to the produce. My advice: Don't go there with a group. That place needs to have a max occupancy limit and they should abide by it.Parking is also awful.

Great deals, and excellent selection. You won't get any better deals in Orange County for "ethnic"-type groceries. It used to be even smaller and more crowded; after renovations, it still feels small and crowded, just less so. The checkers seem a bit slow, too.

Ankur K. took the words right out of my mouth. I was literally about to type "Excellent meat quality" until I noticed his review. Man, oh, man, the ground beef looks so good here. Bright red and super fresh without some weird preservative keeping it red. A friend introduced me to this market for the meat, and I try not to go anywhere else. It's not out of the way, but I'm still stuck going to 99 Ranch for the Chinese groceries. I think the meat is better than Freshia and 99 Ranch, as well as the other chain supermarkets. Here's the lowdown on Super Irvine:-Awesome, inexpensive meat (deboned chicken legs, ground beef, marinated chicken-No pork). Very clean deli display.-Cheap produce (area looks kind of messy but some really succulent fruits and berries)-Busy place! Thank goodness for the deli tickets in the meat dept.-Also offers fresh baked bread like Wholesome, but I haven't tried it. And a very large selection of cookies and other carb goods.
