So yeah, now that I've experienced real hookah, the Hookah Tea Room of Brooklyn is just a decent hookah joint. There is a limited amount of flavors and the hookah is alright. Last I recall, it was $7, but they haven't been open for a while..I think they are remodeling.It's not a very attractive lounge..I really don't feel like I can "lounge" when I go there. There are usually a lot of guys, and they make girls feel uncomfortable there.

My Roommate and I discovered this place while on a long survival hike going from the roots of Brooklyn, from the great known to what we considered the unknown, the possible home of the elusive non park slope wasp hipster type person in Brooklyn.  As the streets went from fried chicken and Chinese to Chinese and sushi and then finally to pubs, Chinese and hookah, my nose was accosted by a sweet odor that I was not expecting to see in this clean and amazing neighborhood (and my new 'hood, GOOD BYE CROWN HEIGHTS!!!!). As we walked in I saw what I havent really seen since I left the mile high city, a bunch of nice Arab men smoking hookah, drinking tea, and playing backgammon.  We took our seat and ordered a tasty cherry hookah (its Nhakla shisa, so dont expect super thick smoke, but its not all that bad) and some great mint tea.  The tea had the perfect amount of sweetness and just the tinge of bitter mint, its awesome.  We got a backgammon board, and enjoyed 3 games of backgammon, with constant coal service, switching from the processed circle coal that is given in the first to the very nice olive wood coals.  The hookah was 7 dollars a piece, the tea was 3 dollars apiece and then environment is priceless.  In fact, don't come here, cause its so nice that it shouldn't be crowded :)  But if you do come and see two girls playing backgammon tell us hello, cause we cant get enough of this place!
