I loved this place. It is a mom and pop establishment and they really take pride in their food and their restaurant. It is casual but nice enough for a date, too. The food was all very delicious. I am not a Persian expert, but everything tasted great. It isn't easy to find. The best way may be to find the pink neon "Fisherman's Market" sign, walk under it and through the sad little food court, out the back and to the left. Seaside will be right in front of you.We had a Greek salad to share, 2 different kinds of soup, an appetizer sampler, lamb chops and fessejnoon (SP?). It was all fresh, homemade, well-spiced and delicious. One favorite dish was the soup with barley. The other soup, with noodles and chard, was also delicious and very hearty. A meal in itself, and both are fully vegetarian. The other home run was the fessenjoon, beef chunks covered with a sauce of pomegranate and walnuts. It had a wonderful underlying flavor of real saffron. The lamb chops came with roasted tomato and rice, and the fessenjoon came with rice. Pita bread was also served.

Persian food...not a food that I'm terribly familiar with, but I felt that I MUST give this restaurant another visit tonight in the interest of supporting local Channel Islands harbor restaurants. It's my OBLIGATION, for God's sake!OK...the truth nothing but the truth:The owner saw me exiting my car today while making a beeline for a local sushi restaurant for lunch, and waved me over. He mentioned that he hadn't seen Deb I for awhile and wanted us to come to his restaurant...tonight...talk about street marketing. Anyways, I made the handshake gave him my promise. Our 4th visit - Appetizer:- Masst O'Kheeyar...$3.95  Translation: yogurt mixed with cucumber mint - GOOD.Main courses:- Zereshk Polo...$9.95  Translation: baked dark meat chicken w/basmati rice barberries - REALLY GOOD.- Fessenjoon...$12.95  Translation: sweet pomegranate paste w/crushed walnut, onions, chicken - OK.- House Merlot...$4 per glass (x 6) - BUZZED.- Total expense:...$54 + tipSummary:An attractively decorated, family-owned restaurant that employs the husband, wife, son, others. They seem to work well together to make the paying customer feel welcome and leave satisfied. I'd like to see them do a better job of speeding along the main courses, but all-in-all, a pleasant, relaxed Saturday evening meal.3.5 stars - a respectable rating. (see photos)

Wow, hookah on the patio out back, dine overlooking the Oxnard Harbor.  This place is just a hop skip and jump off the 101 if you are heading through or staying a bit in the area.  I went for a late lunch - greeted by the owner and classic decor - faux painted walls and damn this place was clean!!!  The owner and his wife are so cute and charming to chit chat and tell me about the area - where to go, what to do, how to stay on a budget.  Such nice people.  They also have some of the best Persian food.  Of course I HAD to try three types of rice - the plain white and yellow, the Ablloo Polo (a.k.a. Abaloo Polo or Savory Cherry Rice) Little more sweet than savory, but oh so yummy and also Loobia Polo (Rice in a tomato base sauce - with green beans - served with Beef Koobideh Kebob) If you have not tried the last - it's something reminiscent of hungarian goulash tasting - with a hint of cardamon.  Delicious.  Fresh ingredients, traditional food from Iran made with love in mind.  The owners love to see that you are enjoying the food. When I ordered the Cherry rice - they were concerned that I wasn't happy with my current order. I assured them I love to try new stuff.Large servings synonymous with Persian Cuisine.  You will for sure take a doggie bag home.. or back to your hotel. Here's an online menu:http://seasidegrill.ox...Parking is free right outside.  They serve wine, homemade doogh and baklava.  Take advantage of the beautiful harbor and walking along the waterfront after dinner.

I have been to this place a couple of times. Every time i go they always remember me and the staff is very sweet which is always a plus. The price is a little high but worth it. The food is great! the beaten chicken and rice is a must have!

I haven't dined in but the food my hubby brought home from here was delicious!  I couldn't get enough of it and took both of our leftover for my lunch the next day!I had chicken and he had beef as well as hummus.  OOOOOH that hummus was so good!  I think this was the best hummus I've ever had.  I am very hard to impress with food so believe me, their hummus is good! The meat was a little on a bland side but with hummus on top, it was awesome.  I also liked the rice.  It's nothing fancy but I liked it not being greasy or too spiced up it was juuuuust right! If you are scoping, give this place a try, it's definitely worth the trip.  I'm so glad this is within a walking distance from our place!  What a gem of the neighborhood!
