We ate at the King Kabob tonight for dinner. The place was 75% full. The food is excellent and the portions are big for the price. The German BF had the King Kabob combo platter which had a huge portion of rice, four different type of kabob meats cooked to a tender flavorful perfection. I knocked off a few stars due to service and menu issues. Our server at first was very friendly and accessible but as dinner went on we eventually ended up having to ask for water refills. The first meal I ordered they didn't have, the second meal the server didn't know what the food was so I settled for the Vegetarian combo. My dinner was the vegetarian combo with Falafel, hummus, tabbouleh, baba gnoucsh (eggplant dip), and green salad. They forgot to put the tabbouleh and baba gnoucsh on my plate and when I asked my server about it she acted surprised that my meal came with it, I showed her the menu and the picture of the platter on the menu that I ordered and she said the pictures don't match the menu items. She brought me a serving of tabbouleh, baba gnoucsh, and a extra serving of hummus. The BF's plate was missing the stew it was suppose to come with.... when we asked about that she said there wasn't any tonight. I think after that point she avoided our table. I noticed the owners schmoozing with another table, filling their water glasses, and never even greeted us. Because it is a new restaurant we will try it again and hopefully they will have a few things worked out. Funny thing.... when we came in we told them we found out about them on http://yelp.com, I would think that the service would have been better knowing If I read a yelp review.... that I would write a yelp review.

More like 3.5 stars.  I had the gus, which is basically a marinated tri-tip cooked on a rotisserie and sliced into little thin pieces.  It came with a LARGE side of hummus.  Actually all of the food portions were very generous and reasonably priced - this particular plate was $11.99.  I was a bit miffed that it didn't come with rice as all the other entrees did.  But my friend had rice, which I sampled.  It was good, could have been better.  This had more to do with the type of rice then how it was prepared.  I like the rice that has the yellow bits much better.  Anyhow, the appetizers were round bread and pickled vegetables and a soup.  The bread was of the locally store bought variety, but the owner explained that his tandoori oven had broke and as soon it was to be replaced, customers will get fresh baked bread on site.  Our waitress wasn't very attentive (or knowledgeable), to echo sentiments by Serra.  The owners and staff were also, coincidentally, fawning over a large party in there that night.  I will be back but not a frequenter.

Visiting from out of town, my friends and I decided to give this new restaurant in town a try due to all the raves we had been hearing. Eating dinner here was a GREAT decision and everything we had heard about it was accurate! The food here was great and it was reasonably priced. Everything was obviously made from scratch. The chicken kabobs were pretty tasty and the kabobs and rice were flavored, cooked to perfection and moist. This restaurant had a great atmosphere and wonderful décor with great music. Being a mom and pop restaurant, I was quite surprised by the professionalism it had to offer.  The restaurant had a General Manager who walked around the whole time we were there and checked on every table. The restaurant is divided into 3 parts.  Bar, restaurant and hookah lounge.  It had a large bar area which was away from the restaurant area, which I really liked.  The restaurant area is large and can definitely accommodate a large party. The hookah lounge is quite big (could also accommodate a large party with entertainment--enough room to dance!) and they also have an outside hookah smoking area with tents and space heaters for the winter. The service in the restaurant and the hookah lounge was on target! Our server in the restaurant (during dinner) was were very attentive and checked on us frequently.  When we walked over and sat in the hookah lounge, we were greeted immediately by our hookah servers.  We ordered 2 hookahs and we were quite pleased with the outcome.  For $9.99 we were given STARBUZZ tobacco (hookah smokers know why this is a big deal--it's the premium hookah tobacco which normally costs $15 elsewhere).  The hookah servers constantly checked on us, added new charcoal and refilled our beverages.I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will definitely return to this restaurant when I am in town again.

We've been waiting for this place to open up for a while and it was worth the wait.  Authentic, flavorful, freshly made Assyrian/middle eastern food.  The tabbloueh was just the way I like it -- lots of lemon!  The hummus was wonderful and garlicy.  I had the tikka kabobs and they were so tender.  My son is a falafel freak and he just loved it; the owner says he has his own recipe for it that he's famous for.  We followed our dinner with some chai and baklawa and they were both lovely. The portions were good, the prices fair, the service great.  With all the depressing signs of closure on so many independently-owned restaurants, I truly hope this place makes it and stays around for a long time!
