I go here for breakfast and everyone I go with likes it and comes back.  Much better than Ihop.  But, to each his/her own.  I really like this place for breakfast and they allow you to take your dog on the patio out front.

Salad for $3.75? Turkey Sandwich for $5.95? You can't get a heartier a cheaper meal than this... +2 *the prices can't get lower !!!  CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! did i just hit a jackpot? cha ching! cha ching, ching chinnnnggg!!! (i'm talkin about the salad)(well, keep in mind, these prices are ONLY good if you just want to "grab and go!")TIP: for $2 more, you get a side of soup, salad OR fries at the deli. I was too hungry to even remember in taking a picture, but shoooot! The salad was so filling, and a meal of its own. It's compacted in this lil plastic box, and i swear, it was super fresh ... the freshness def gets another star.Staff are super friendly and easy going... +1+1 great outside seating area, which is perfect for us, so cal peeps who need to sneak in a tanline or two.. remember, the north bay is warmer than sf, let alone. it's a nice lil deli in the business district of SR.

I didn't even realize they had a full bar until this past weekend.... Did you guys know that? I sure didn't. I went with a friend yesterday after watching the PGA. Tucked way in the back on the opposite side of the deli is real counter with a real full bar and dim lights to match. Pavel is the bartender from what I understand most of the time and he is very nice and very accommodating. We ordered some food and I just had a diet coke, my friend however had a couple of drinks. I had a wrap and it was good. My friend had a small Greek salad and also a side of tuna fish. Pavel was running both the bar and getting our food. It is sorta nice to have another option on 4th Street in San Rafael if you want to eat and also have a drink.

I've tried a few of their sandwiches and sandwich specials, both hot and cold. Nothing stands out, and the prices are commensurate with the ultra-plus of San Rafael's 4th street. All in all, this isn't a good value at all. They do have salads in the cooler that are relatively reasonable, but overall, nothing I've ordered compels me to pay the price they charge. I've found the owner/counter guy to be perfectly amenable and personable, but frankly, a $7 - $8  sandwich better be worth it. And these are not; they're just flavorless and even the specials are boring. I haven't tried the breakfasts, but they seem reasonably priced  at least ($5.00 or so)  for standard scrambles/toast and potatoes.

The food is marginal and the service is very poor. The waitresses will chat amongst themselves rather than clean a table for you to sit at. They will even walk right past you.If you are looking for breakfast,  just go to IHOP. You get  more quality and the service is much better.I would never go back to the West End Cafe!!

This place is ok - not something that I would come back to again though.  We went here for breakfast and the food was good, very big portions, but the service took FOREVER - I began to wonder if they were hatching eggs from the chickens in order to make the omelettes!  The place itself is quite small, yet they have this giant projector screen TV which you can't seem to not watch because the room is so small.  The prices were not that great in comparison to what you get.

This place is fantastic. If you are looking for great atmosphere and a terrific hookah experience this is the place to go. Drinks, food and hookah are all moderately priced. Hookah is international-travel friendly, non-intrusive and relaxed.

This place is "ok".  We ordered a chicken Parmesan sandwich and a prosciutto sandwich.  Both ok, nothing really exciting about it, but yes a bit over priced for the taste you get in your mouth...

Went to West End on Sunday for Father's Day. For a party of 6, it took about 40 minutes to get our food. The food was less than mediocre. Things people at our table got: eggs, sausage, pancakes, french toast, bacon, home fries, coffee, soda, water. It took about 20 minutes to get water, 35 minutes for my coffee to come and this was after reminding our server that we still hadn't received the things we had ordered.Pancakes were about the only good thing we received. French toast was soggy. Home fries were not good. Sausage not good, bacon had a weird taste.  The diet coke was watered down from the get go. It was overall a disappointment. The only good thing is that we didn't have to wait to get a table on Father's Day. But now I understand why it wasn't jam packed.
