I had been to a couple of hookah lounges with friends in San Diego, but I did not partake in it. In fact, this is where I first truly experienced hookah so I was a bit wary at first. But once I tasted it, I felt really relaxed. I seriously could've fallen asleep on that floor! The employees were very attentive. Opens up late at night, which is perfect for a night owl like me. Oh yeah, private parking is a plus as well.

I'm blown away by this place. Absolutely incredible. The service is stellar; they are fast and wait on you hand and foot. Lots of parking, incredible in Waikiki. The shisha selection is broad and tastes great. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. They have an outdoor and indoor area, both with their own charm. They are BYOB and even let me bring in my laptop and play whatever music I wanted. They gave us more coals and encouraged us to stay until close. Great expertise on hookah and keeping the smoke from getting harsh. Absolutely amazing, highly recommended. I can't think of anything more I'd want from a hookah lounge. Projector on the wall of another building for the outside seating area.

I just checked this place out last night after excitedly reading Olivia's review. Hookah bars in Hawaii are few and far between and I have been searching for one this whole summer that I've been in Hawaii due to a mishap with my own personal hookah. I had high expectations of this place and I was not disappointed. For this adventure we decided to smoke out on the lanai- they were playing 40 year old virgin. As for the tobacco I'd have to say it was high quality, flavorful and long burning. The hookahs are very nice with 3-4 hoses (each person gets one). Normally I am accustomed to passing around 1-2 hoses but in this case it was very nice to have my own personal one. My throat was dead by the end of the night though!Another nice thing about the place is that its BYOB, they don't serve drinks but there is a 7eleven next door so its very easy to pick up anything that you would like. I think that this is due to a law in Hawaii where you can't have smoke and food at the same establishment. While it would be nice to have food and drink served, the real focus of the place is the smoke- which is very delicious.

I can't really rate this business because 1) it wasn't opened yet when I walked by and 2) no one will go with me! The Red Congolese is a new smoke shop on Ena Road between the Irish Rose Saloon and Chiba-ken. It's grand opening should be at the end of July.I got all excited when I first walked by and saw that they have a bunch of hookahs. I LOVE hookahs, even though I am not and never have been a smoker. A hookah is a multi-stemmed water pipe. It's great for non-smokers like myself because of the water filtration and indirect heat. And the flavored tobacco--I like green apple. There were many hookah cafes where I lived in Paris, since a large portion of the population there is Arab. I enjoyed smoking hookahs because the act of smoking was less focused on smoking for it's own sake and more on the social aspect and interaction. Everyone smoked together after a meal; it was a part of socializing. The store has two lounges for smoking hookahs. There is one on the upstairs back lanai that is nicely done up with couches and sheer curtains. It overlooks the parking lot. They project movies onto the parking lot wall. The last time I checked it out, they were playing Nacho Libre. The charge for the hookah is $15 for the first person and $5 for each person after that. I'm still trying to convince my friends to go with me, though . . .
