i haven't been back there in a few months so i'll just provide a semi-chronological account of the place.this place is tiiiny.originally it had the WORST seating/couches ever.. enough to make me never want to come back.last time i was there they upgraded to something that doesn't hurt your butt.unto the prices.. to smoke the hookah it used to cost $10 (quite spendy but seemed to be the going rate) then they raised their prices to $15 - RIP OFF - ( i heard they lowered their ridiculous prices since then)the environment used to be - 80% high school kids who can't go to a bar and get down and freaky with each other to the top 40 music (or even worse sometimes) - once in a while the music didn't hurt my ears.anyways.. this place didn't do it for me.

3.5 Stars.I'm going to qualify this review: I had never smoked hookah before. This was my first experience and I'm reviewing it as such. One of my old college buddies came in from out of town with his underage (20) year old brother. Bars were pretty much out of the option at this point, and we wanted to go out and just relax somewhere. We had just eaten Pok Pok that night, tried a bunch of different dishes and were looking for something to drown out the rumbles of digestion. What about Hookah my friend suggests?! Well, ok...So we find out about Tony's Hooka Lounge. Seemed cool, it was close, it was open. We drive on out to Barbur Blvd. to check it out. Don't drive too fast, you'll zip right by. We found parking on a small side street and walked on into the joint. It was pretty tiny inside, maybe five tables, there was a group already chillin' there with a big pizza. We all got eyeballs immediately when we walked in. If you're not a regular, I suppose that's what happens. Whatever, who cares, right? This is what I should have been doing when I was 18. My excuse was my friend's brother. So we rent a 3-way hookah, order up some different flavors, and have at it. The guy at the counter was cool, if not quiet and wanting to get back to his friends (and enjoy his pizza). The music they played was laid back. Lots of Sublime. So we kicked back for just over an hour, had a lot of good conversation, and enjoyed a hookah buzz. The place stayed empty, it didn't cost an arm and a leg, and it beat sitting at home and watching the boob-tube.
