More like 3.5 stars.I really like this place when I want to go somewhere that's more than a dive bar, but not a super-pretentious lounge.  I've always had a good time here - prefer the upstairs.  Service is ok, DJ is ok (nothing special, but not so bad that you want to throw things at him).  Great place to relax with friends and smoke some hookah, which they do have a decent variety of flavors.My one complaint is that a small group of us went late on a Sat. once(around 12:30 AM) and there was an empty hookah seating area in the back.  The hostess told us it was reserved for 12.  But it's 12:30...don't they lose their reservation?  The hostess stood her ground, so we had to cram ourselves at the bar.  When we left the seating area we wanted was still empty.  But maybe it's a good thing that they so strictly honor their reservations (if you have one).

Come to this place if you:1. Are a *cigarette* smoker. You can smoke inside. *Yes, lucky you!!!*2. Don't like being serviced or don't like good service. *There was possibly one *non servicing/uninformative* server on a busy Saturday. We waited 10 minutes for someone to seat us but only to find out that we can sit whereever we wanted. Waited another 15 minutes for someone to take our order but also only to find out, we go to the bar to order our hookah/drinks. 3. Like hip hop, reggae, and rb. I personally love those genres of music so I was pretty much content with the music.4. Good hookah. *The hookah flavors are pretty good. I recommend the Tutti Frutti*Summary: This place gets 2 stars because of the music, their hookah flavor and drinks. Would I come back again? ONLY If I was in the neighborhood. I would not travel all the way from Queens specifically for this spot.

hory clap!!! i forgot all bout this place. that is until Janeen B. just reminded me w/ her review.. and the fact that we apparently made out here.okay... there's no apparently. we made out here. pure and simple. okay... there's no pure and simple bout this either. we were two wasted hot chics (well, she's the hot one, i was just hot from all of the clothing i was wearing) ready to explore each other a little. Janeen, god damn your soft nice lips.butt i digest... i don't really remember much else from here. there was hookahs, and a DJ, and NY yelp faces, and Janeen.ooooh Janeenooooh sweet Janeenooooh sweet lips Janeenooooh i need a hot showerLove Karma. Located in such a great and easy spot in the E. Vill. I love not having to trek five miles to the train station in heels and 10 too many shots of vodka.Love the Mango and Strawberry hookah flavors. Went there for a birthday party with my crazy Russian friend and all of our restaurant industry posse. Emotional and drinking problems in tow, we were ready. 2 bottles of Belvedere, a bottle of Prosecco, and two hookah flavors later, we were lucky to only have broken 2 glasses. Thanks Karma, for housing our night of gropage, boozing, and dancing. Will definitely be back again.So, Karma.. Wow.Loved this place. I was brought here by one of my New York friends, he said it was an awesome lounge.So, we got in.. and ordered the Tutti Fruity hookah. Tasty, awesome.I didn't know you were able to smoke cigarettes in here, until my friend pulled out an ashtray and told me to have a smoke. Incredible. Coolest thing ever. I felt like I was back a few years ago when smoking in bars was legal.Awesome, hip, comfy.. I loved Karma!This is the hookah bar where TIna R. made mouth-love to me ...that alone will get me to come back..........That, and the comfortable couches, strong drinks and chill atmosphere. It kinda resembles what I imagined Billy Dee Williams crib looked like in the height of his Colt-45 fame.Great hookah bar!  It's gets a bit crowded on the weekends but on weeknights it's a great place to lounge around, smoke a hookah and chat with the bartender or manager.

This place is like a 3.5, but didn't want to give it a 3.  It has great hookah, although it was a bit on the pricey side.  ($4 for additional coal??? WTF- Most places refill your coal for free).  The hookah ended up costing around $20 and the hookah waitress was anything but subtle in asking for a tip.  5 drinks ran us $50 - guess pretty standard for city prices, although it took our cocktail waitress forever to serve us (FYI: you have to pay as soon as she brings them over).  Coat check is free, but tips are accepted.  Downstairs, DJ was spinning some standard dance/club mixes and even threw in the theme from The Fresh Prince of Bel Aire.  It got pretty crowded after a while, but overall it's a great atmosphere.Oh - and you can also play the Wii for free if you want - But if you break the remote, you pay $50... in case... you wanted to.. come to a bar... to play the Wii...

This a favorite of mine because this the place my fiance and I went on our first date. The drinks are really good. The staff is great. The music has it's moments. Overall you can't beat the prices and it's a smoking bar. All those smokers out there like myself can really appreciate a place to smoke inside, especially in the winter.

I'm in the Official One-Star mood.Here's another spot that makes me wonder: What happened to this place?I remember years ago the wonderful grimeyness that use to go down in the basement part of this place. Now it's just full of people that make me puke a bit in my mouth. *shaking head*

I went last night with a few friends to catch up and smoke some hookah.  I gave Karma 2 stars for the service mostly which was poor - just very slow table service....we waited 25 min for our hookah!!  Otherwise, its a decent place....decor was dark and red, but cool.  Very tiny chairs to sit on but we enjoyed them for the laugh of it.  They had a vampire event on the lower level so it was pretty packed with people last night.  A lot of vampire looking and goth looking guys and gals.  There was a DJ spinning on the main floor with some good dance music from the 80s and 90s.  And lest I forget, since it is Hookah you can smoke cigarettes so bonus for all the addicted people since you dont have to freeze by going outside every 20 min for a smoke.So in summary Hookah quality was great, service slow, decor cool, people cool.  So go check it out for yourself and maybe you will have better service.
