Welcome to a Greek person's heaven! I first went here to hang out a couple of times and received fake hugs from every Greek person that i ever used to know. It was a fun place, though, decent drinks and a pretty good atmosphere for a Queens spot. Later on, had a great drinks hook-up and it became a quick favorite! Overall, it's really not a bad place to go order a few drinks and have some laughs.

Long before I ever went to this place I have heard about it oh so many times. It is located on Northern Blvd. where Greek restaurants and Greek everything is everywhere. It is a favorite hang out of my fellow Queens resident friends. One late night, my friends all decided to have a late snack/dinner at Oasis. Being restaurant/eatery hoppers, myy boyfriend and I agreed.Slight con: you might have to circle around once to find parking. From the outside, it looks really small. We still had that impression when we got inside. We were on the cell phone with our friends and they kept telling us that they were "at the back"...??? We thought that was weird because looking at the place, we pretty much can see everyone. BUT, there was a door (tinted glass door) in the back. That's when this place really set its statement upon me.Once through the tinted door, there was this huge place (you could never have imagined it from the outside). There was a bar to the left and tables in smoking and non-smoking areas AND there was a second floor! It was packed that night and I think it's the most people we've ever seen at that place (we go there like almost everyday). The decor is eh... one star. It has that neon-ish lighting on the walls and the walls are decorated with weird things like a spaceship. Not all things in this place is horrible though. The food is good and VERY affordable. You can order a hamburger with fries all for $5.75 (or maybe 20 cents more) AND the food is not deprived in size. The fries are pretty good (not lumpy or super crunchy). I have had their chicken sandwhich and it's good as well but I suggest you get the Philli cheese steak. It's good. Their desserts aren't that bad either. They have a good selection of hot beverages and pastries.OOh and another thing that I noticed- the service varies (mostly depending on what time you go there). If you go there early for dinner like 5 'o' clock or 5:30 P.M., there will only be one person on the floor to greet you and show you where to sit. Then maybe two waiters but only one who will serve you. SUGGESTION: ask for your check when you're sure you're not getting anything else because they take a while with that. The three stars is mostly for the food itself.

Ok, so if you grew up in Great Neck, Little Neck, or ANYWHERE in Northern Queens, you have been to Oasis and know 50% of the patrons every time you walk in. The deal with Oasis is...you don't go there for the food, really. You go there for the outdoor seating, the fact that you can sit outside for 3 hours with just a fruit salad or a frappe, and the fact that you can smoke (ciggies, or bring your own hookah). That said, the food is pretty good. They have a pretty extensive menu with typical fried appetizer fare, paninis, salads, pizzas, burgers, fruit, yogurt, crepes, etc. They are especially known for their HUGE selection of Greek pastries and desserts. I am not Greek and therefore cannot spell or even pronounce half of these desserts (words like xeniphillo and loumidones- hello, what the hell does that mean?) but I'll tell you one thing- they're gooooood. Phyllo dough and honey and powdered sugar are pretty much STANDARD in every one, so you cant lose. If you're counting calories, stick to the salads, fruit salad, or bowl of Greek yogurt with fruit. Otherwise, knock yourself out with their yummy grilled chicken and cheese on a pita, a burger fries (cut kinda thick and DEEP fried. A gush of oil in every bite) , or a humongous banana split! This is THE place to go on a hot summer night when you want to DO something but dont feel like shlepping to the city. Yeah the service is slowwwwwww but it just adds to the relaxed atmosphere.Oh and don't even bother going here in the winter months when the outdoor area is closed. then its just a corny neon-lighted cafe with old pervy Greek men and 14-year-olds.

I've been coming here for almost 15 years now. Very nice place with very cool outdoor seating. I don't think they still have the little pond in the back like they used to, but the place is still nice. They have a nice variety of pastries. Everything tastes good.I'm not too fond of the young crowd here though, but regardless, it's a very nice place (specially in the summer when you can sit outside).

Great baked Greek goods. I haven't tried the food there, but their cakes and Greek goodies are delicious. Service is bad. The counter girls will talk to you when they want, they don't really care you're in a hurry or double parked. They take their sweet a** time. Around Thanksgiving, they had the most delicious apple crumb pie. I don't know who bakes those pies, but jaw dropping-ly good. I learned recently they will make any and all pies on request (yay!) too bad I need to watch my figure because I think I can scarf down a few in one sitting.

I've never actually had a sit down meal at this place and I didn't even know they serve food. When I come, I get the pastries and the cakes. I have to say, this is fail-proof place to get cakes for those special occasions. EVERYTHING.....and I mean EVERYTHING is good. When you look at those beautiful cakes, you might say... it looks too pretty to taste good...but you are WRONG! It taste as good or better thanit looks. And the prices are reasonable....NOT CHEAP...but reasonable. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is because of the service. The owners are okay but there is one lady there with very bad english...that gives you the attitude that she cannot be bothered by your questions. Furthermore, since i am sure she is well aware of the lousiness of her english.....why then won't she LISTEN PAY ATTENTION to the paying customer?!?!...oh well, I guess she don't give a Sh*t. So save yourself the aggravation and keep the customer service expectation to zero and you'll be okay.

I haven't been here in a good few years, but since I recently moved to the area - I keep reminding myself to go when I drive past it, but keep forgetting. I used to come here on an almost nightly basis when I worked in Great Neck 6 years ago. I was a smoker, which made it even more appealing since they are the only place that defies the NYC smoking ban. If you are smoke-sensitive or pregnant, don't even think about sitting inside. The entire top floor is a giant puff of smoke. In the summer, Oasis is awesome. You can sit outside and can sip on delicious frappes for as long as you want. Their crepes are pretty good, too. The wait could be pretty long if you go during peak hours, so be prepared! Go early if you want to relax. It can also fill up pretty quickly with Euro-type homos.

This place needs to be overhauled. Was there last week and for some reason I was smelling cig. smoke in the non smoking section. Time for some renovations maybe (new exhaust fans in the smoking section perhaps?). Service is so-so. Place used to be packed when I'd go in warmer weather, especially outside in the back. I'm not a big enough fan of coffee to tolerate cig. smoke though.

Last time that I went to this spot some guy named Fat Nick was all over one of my buddies. I ignored him long enough to enjoy the lovely Frappacinos which, in my estimation, are the highlight of this Greeky Greek spot. I would go there more often if not for my utter uppity feelings of revulsion towards all things Greeky Greek Queens.
