Tired of your run of the mill restaurant? Well look no further than Picasso's Bistro and Pizzeria for a much needed diversification for your average dining experience.Picasso's offers a wide variety of choices that is sure to please almost anyone. While the do offer a good variety of pizzas, they also extend their menu to include a wide variety of other choices. From salads to sandwiches to fresh fish or steak, they really do have whatever might strike your fancy. As far as their pizzas go, they do not just offer the run of the mill product. While familiar variations such as pepperoni or heaven forbid plain cheese, can be ordered, their signature pizzas are a little more exotic. From their "Bayou Sunset" which features crawfish, andouille sausage, scallions and banana peppers as well as a healthy portion of blackening seasoning to the "Black and Bleu" which gives you a healthy potion of Filet Mignon, red onions, scallions and bleu cheese, the pizzas from Picasso's have enough variety to keep you coming back and never getting bored. On top of their entrees, Picasso's also has an incredible dessert menu. Artfully presented with potions meant to be shared, it is a true shame if you don't manage to save room for one of these indulgences. To compliment their menu they also have an extraordinary bar. With a rotating selections of craft beers on tap, a terrific selection of craft beer bottles as well as a wide variety of wines, they have whichever libation suits your fancy. And to make this even more enticing they even offer a happy hour from 3 - 7 PM with a variety of drink specials. Whatever you are craving, Picasso's most likely will have something to satisfy. And while during peak hours, the restaurant does get busy, if you are forced to wait, be assured that it is well worth it. On the whole, Picasso's Bistro and Pizzeria is an incredible place. Whether the occasion is going out for lunch, meeting up with friends, celebrating a special event or going out with that someone special, you can rest assured that your experience here will far exceed anywhere else in the area.

Jackson is the Land of Chains, and after a week of Red Robin, McAllister's and Outback, Picasso was a very welcome respite. This lively pizzeria was packed on a Tuesday night, and though we had to sit for a few minutes before someone came to take our order, it was worth the wait. They have an interesting selection of beers, including the Giraffe of Beer, a hookah-like tableside keg that holds 108 oz. for a table of 3 or more (or less, if you are so inclined) with your choice of draft beer. I had a glass of Chianti followed by one of their signature 10-inch pizzas called Scott's Caribbean Jerk on a delicious whole-grain crust. The pizza was topped with Jamaican jerk chicken, pineapple, cilantro, red onions, roasted red peppers and jalapeno- a perfect blend of sweet and spicy where all the flavors blended without anything taking over too harshly.  My dining partner said the pizza far surpassed the sandwich he had, and we wanted to go back for lunch the next day to try the much-lauded sangria and another pizza, but had to rush off mid-day to Nashville to catch a flight home. Too bad we discovered this place so late in the game. Skip all those chain places if you are in the mood for pizza in Jackson and go to Picasso!
