Nothing special at all. People go here if they can't get seats elsewhere on Broadway or Steinway.I agree with the others that this place is overpriced... Big no-no in this area!

Everyone seems to think the food is spectacular. I'm unimpressed, but then, i've never been here for lunch or dinner. The dessert, however, i've ordered (or been around others who ordered) on several occasions, and each time, it tasted as if it had been sitting in the fridge for two weeks. Once, there was mold on it.Disappointing as that was, i don't really come here for the food. Neverending hookahs with good ambiance, wine, and very decent tea earn this place four stars despite the unfortunate slices of sugary spoilage. Now, if only they'd invest in a few more songs, so they wouldn't have to put a single mix CD on loop....

If you go for one time or maybe twice is good. After you get the hang of what type of people go there and the music is redundant. Same play lists same racist individuals who pick you out of the crowd that the person is "not Arab" . They do they're little square dance thingy and take up the whole dance floor which is nice for one or two songs not the whole night. The pineapple hookah is different and I really enjoyed. I hated the food but only like the babaganush and the martini drinks are great as well. Other than that they should have MORE VARIETY is music and the service should be faster and better. Its not an easy job but make it worth for us patrons to tip you guys...

Went to Dandana with a few friends. We were wary given the Yelp reviews but figured it couldn't hurt to give this hookah bar a try. Scribbled into the menu was a price change in hookah, now $12 ($10 @ Soho Cafe). As this was the only change in the menu, we assumed we were good to go (soda and tea were said to be $3). Turns out, not true. Two diet cokes cost my friend, Kristin S., $10! Tea (aka hot water and a tea bag) was $10 as well! The waitress didn't even take the time to tell us not all prices were correct, which I would expect of someone in food service. When we tried to dispute the charges, she acted indifferent; told us "my customers are regulars so they already know about the changes." ... Whatever, heffer. Listen, I understand we're in a recession but a $5 coke is obscene. If you're looking for a great hookah place on Broadway, stick to Soho Cafe on the corner of 44th. The owner is awesome and all products are priced as marked.

This place needs to update their menu prices ASAP. I ended up paying $10 for TWO Diet Cokes. Yeah....I know. I can't even tell you how grumpy that made me. Nowhere on the menu does it say that the prices have changed, nor did the waitress tell us!I was extremely disappointed in this place---- I would recommend going to Soho Cafe right up on 44th Broadway to have a good hookah experience. Anddd they won't screw you over on the prices. $10 for two Diet Cokes. Unbelievable.

De-licious! I went here with a Moroccan friend and she ordered everything for us. So I'm not entirely sure I can remember what we had exactly. Other than everything was phenomenal. The babaganuch was bowl lickin good. As was the Moroccan Cous Cous with Lamb. They also have the best espresso I've had since I moved back from Italy. And believe me, I'm an espresso snob, so that's saying a lot! The decor is beautiful jewel tones with gold embellishments, comfy couches to sit and relax with your fruit flavored hookah. On the weekends they have traditional live music and the vibe is more like a club than a restaurant....all in all a great place to just relax or get your night started off right.

They really do need to update their prices on their menu... I felt like I got cheated paying $5 for a drink! And when the waitress didn't feel she got enough for tip, she had the nerve to confront us and yell at us. Sorry, if you give shitty service, you get a shitty tip. End of story. Will never go back.

Let me start this review by saying that I have been to this place around 3 times. On most occasions I have sat outside at one of the lovely tables they have set up in warmer weather. So why would I give it one star you ask?The reason is because I made to UNFORTUNATE mistake of going there on a weekend night AND of sitting inside. I have been there on weekend nights in the past and have never been subjected to a $25 minimum expenditure. I didn't even know one existed. Warning: they don't let you before hand. So, I went with some friends of mine for a nice, chill night of hookah + good friends. We got there before the DJ went on and were having a great time. Then about an hour later our waiter comes up to one of us and tells us that we have to spend $25 EACH. Apparently that is the price of hanging out at such a cool spot on a weekend night.A cover of $25 is not a bad thing in and of itself. HOWEVER, it would be very helpful to know what you are getting into before you commit. There weren't any signs posted saying that there was a cover charge on weekends, nor were we informed when we were asked to show our IDs to the guy at the entrance. Of course we tell our waiter this and he says that he will do us a favor and charge only $10 per person. Not great, but we're like okay that's better than before. So then we decide to get some beers and food so that we're at least getting something back for the mandatory cover charge. Then the check comes....and we discover that in addition to the food and drinks that we bought, we were also charged cover over our actual spen.So managements' explanation of this is that EVERYONE knows that there is a $25 charge on weekends. Oh really?! EVERYONE?! I guess I missed the memo. Or I am unfortunately NOT included in everyone. Regardless, be warned that you might find an extra 25+ charge on your check if you happen to go there on a weekend night. Also, the service is impossibly slow and it is very difficult to get the attention of the wait service. This has been characteristic of every visit to Dandana, inside and out. Key Points (Dandana, I hope you read this AND fix this)1. Service is slow. 2. No cover charges are posted anywhere and they will probably not let you know of the cover charged until you have already made your orders and are ready to leave. If we had known that there was a cover charge, we probably would have gone to east village to the FREE bars, or to meat packing for a REAL dance floor. We would NOT have stayed for nearly 2 hours at a hookah bar in Queens. 3. Good hookah and fun place to hang out during the day
