Went here for New Year's 2009... $25 in advance for open bar from 9pm-1am, free champagne toast, continental breakfast starting at 4am and music going until 8am.  I didn't get to stay much longer after 4am though (the bf got a little crazy with the open bar).  It's very pretty inside, with my favorite part being the pink lounge in the back.  Although, there seemed to have been a miscommunication between the staff at the door and the staff in the lounge because my and my friends sat down at a table that had not been reserved but one of the lounge staff members told us all the tables were reserved. But the people at the door told us that unless there was a sign that said "RESERVED" on it, then it was okay to sit there.  It got cleared up, we sat and chilled and ordered a hookah (which was delicious. It really does go straight to your head!) and a bottle of Grey Goose with orange juice and cranberry juice.  Great latin music, great crowd, and very chill.  What a great new years and great find in astoria!

Pass it frequently on the way to work. Didn't know it was not a front for something.

The decor inside is beautiful.  I like the lounges/settee area as well.  Drinks are reasonably priced ($10).  I went here for a friend's bday and it was just OK.  The DJ played song after song that sounded just it's predecessor.  The mix of music wasn't extremely diverse either.  The crowd--?  Somewhat questionable.  My favorite part about the night though was the hookah ALTHOUGH I thought it was a little pricey for those standards.  Hookah at Le Souk is around $25 --same as this place alas Le Souk is a much better atmosphere for your money.

Came in here for a beer one night with some friends. The bar smelled like a wet basement and the bartenders barely spoke english. The place is really tacky and cheap all around. Save yourself the trouble and make your way to Steinway or Broadway instead...

Over priced drinks and stupid bouncers.  I live around the corner and we went there at 9 to grab a quick drink before we headed somewhere else.  All the tables said reserved.  Even though there was no one there we couln't sit at a table or chair because they were all reserved.  That ridiculous.  We told them that we would move if someone wanted to claim their table but thay insisted on no.  Douchbags.

NOT my scene. Besides standing in line, besides being in queens, besides having really bad over priced drinks,  I consider being frisked before going into a bar a warning. Yes, they frisk everyone at the door. It's not a club It's not a concert. Still they must frisk. I was standing in line with the birthday girl and the rest of the group and did not appreciate  the mean nasty bouncer letting us in 2 at a time. When the lounge wasn't even crowded. Even after we mentioned it was her birthday. After finally getting in lets just say it did not get any better. Not my scene.

Gorgeous decor but telling the group of us that you can't sit at the tables unless you order a bottle? When did Astoria lounges become synonymous with club/bottle service? Two stars for the decor really nice and helpful bartender.  Can't comment on the hookah, drinks or food cuz it was just too expensive to plant my ass down.
