Visited a second time, service is very kind - although extremely slow :( I read recently its a custom in these restaurants so customers don't feel rushed and I appreciate it. Its only as far as getting their attention when something is needed - although it wasn't so frequent - people were waiting and doing all sorts of hand signals - They could use some more help. Portions are huge, its a little more expensive than average. The seafood was fresh.

Now this is an authentic Persian restaurant if I've ever seen one. The decor is traditional and interesting at the same time. The restaurant is very spacious. They can surely accommodate large gatherings like birthday parties or corp dinners. The food was very tasty. A bit on the expensive side, but the great service definitely makes the prices worthwhile. The waiters are very attentive and take time to explain the menu and make recommendations. They are honest too. If they think you won't like something, they'll tell you so. Definitely one of my fav places in NY.

Dirty kitchen and dirty waitresses. When the owner is there the waitresses behave nice and kind. When they are alone, very bad language!!!

This place gets the 5 star treatment. This is my families favorite place in the city. The food really good though it's not better than my wife's cooking. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the staff are friendly. My recommendation is to come of saturday evening because they have belly dancing. I would order the eggpant dip as an appetizer and I would also suggest the Zaresh Pollow for the entree. Make sure to try the Persian ice cream for dessert.

A new-ish Persian restaurant. Unlike some other kinds of cuisine from the Middle East, Persian food is not spicy at all. I went for lunch, and had kabab kobideh, which is skewers of ground beef and lamb mixed together. Delicious. They put pats of butter in the rice. Fat + carbs = Yum. The decor is really beautiful, and the people who work here are just so nice. After your meal, order tea and drink it like a real Persian: hold a sugar cube in your mouth, then suck the hot tea past the cube to sweeten it.

One of the best kabobs I've had in the city.  Also did an appetizer combo that was really solid.Their beer selection is awful, besides a minor saving grace of Guinness Extra Stout (which I'm pretty sure they bought by accident)

eggplant/tomato/plum stew? yum! service? awfully slow, even at opening with two other people there; at least you can sit outside and hear and watch the hustle and bustle of construction and traffic. not the best ambiance- impersonal- and not the best persian food i've had.

Dined here on a Friday night and it was empty at 8pm.  I normally run away when it's not bustling, but the location isn't exactly in the hippest part of town.  Totally fine by me, I wanted something low key.The food was pretty decent, standard fare for weeknight meals, but not a place you'd take someone to impress them. We started with the borani, and to be honest, it tasted like they threw in a packaged spinach dip (http://www.recipesecre...)  with sour cream. Eh...I had the grilled vegetable salad, but it was a bit oily for my taste.  I did enjoy the nice mix of portobellos, eggplant, tomatoes, and scallions though. My partner had the chicken breast kabob and liked it just fine.I have yet to try adas polo (lentil rice) but maybe for delivery...
