this place is NOT good. Terrible service

Fortunately for me and my guest, we DIDN'T read the last couple of reviews. We ABSOLUTELY loved this place. Service was GREAT and Friendly. The food was cooked perfectly and well seasoned to our tastes. Cinderella Sabbaba HITS THE SPOT! Located in a small strip store on the Black Horse Pike in Washington Township (Gloucester County). My guest chose the Middle Eastern Menu. Baba Gnanouj was was tasty and full of flavor. She followed it up with a new item on the menu OUZI. Filo dough filled with Lamb, Raisins and Spices and topped with Sesame Seeds and a Freshly prepared salad. I chose the Indian menu and started off with the Samosa Chaat. Lightly fried Vegetable Samosa garnished with yogurt, tamarind sauce and chick peas. I then opted for the Lamb Korma. Lamb cooked with exotic spices, herbs, nuts and raisins in a mild cream sauce. The Lamb was good cuts (not tough) and cooked perfectly. Once again, to top it all off, I felt like part of the family. The hospitality and speed of the meal was GREAT! This place is not decorated fancy, but homey. A real WINNER!

Not so great BUT not terrible. They have belly dancers every Thursday and Friday night. Beware, they will try to make you dance with them. The Indian and Middle Eastern food tasted alike, and it takes FOREVER to get to you. So do not go there starved. They used to sell hookahs but someone complained and they got a $800 dollar fine. Its a BYO. Enter at your own discretion.

I relied on two reviews, one here and one from the "Discreet Diner" of the Philly Inquirer, both written in mid-2007, when deciding to go to this restaurant in April 2008. I've been jonesing for some Indian food in South Jersey, and my fiance, who does not like it, likes Middle Eastern food, so it seemed a great opportunity to go to a restaurant that serves both!Sadly, we were both really disappointed. The food quality was generally quite poor.We ordered from both sides of the menu (Indian and Middle Eastern) and here was our experience.Egyptian lentil soup - this was okay, although not remarkable. Thick, yellow, "looks like mud," said my fiance. Spinach pies -- YUCK!!!!!!! Somehow they managed to turn the spinach inside black. How did they do that? Haven't figured it out. It smelled like vinegar. Dough was thick and tasteless.Eggplant Moussaka - we've had many kinds of moussaka from the ME, Greece, and Turkey. This one was really... odd. Covered in mushrooms (never seen that before) and with the same generic mildly spicy flavoring that everything on their menu seems to have. It had more potato than eggplant, but was edible. Not served with any kind of bread or rice. And from the flip side...vegetable samosa - dough was thick and.. "doughy." Undercooked. Filling needed salt badly. Mint chutney helped a little.meat samosa - okay, but just tasted like ground cooked beef with peas. A bit dry, crumbly.alu palak -- reallllly salty. Very oily. Served with basmati rice, it was edible but not great. I'm used to eating at such Philadelphia institutions as Minar Palace (did it ever return after closing its storefront last year?), so I need a higher caliber of Indian food than this.... however, I don't think anyone would really like this. The restaurant was nearly empty at 7:30 on a Saturday night (1 table occupied), so I think maybe people have clued in that this is not so great. And , oh, not even a $$ bargain anymore, they recently raised their prices 25-33% - $13 for alu palak?? No way.

Cinderella Sabbaba offers Middle Eastern and Indian food. I've eaten here a few times. I've had the hummus, baba ganouj, falafel, fresh and warm pita bread, and several salads. The food is just excellent. Everything is flavorful, fresh, and better than I expected. My favorite meal is the falafel sandwich on pita with lettuce, tomato and tahini dressing. Its a steal for only $4.50. The baklava is also good. Service is friendly but some may consider it slow. I think the approach is more of a "not in your face" type of way, which is fine by me. I dont mind getting up to get the check.
