What everyone is saying is true!  The restaurant changed hands.  They also didn't give us soup or a salad... which was supposedly included in both our meals.  Basically I paid $11 for a very very small vegetable stew!  You cannot understand them and they cannot understand you... therefore I chose not to argue about this.  When we walked into the restaurant, there were a group of guys (friends of the owner?) who were just standing around staring at us, its was awkward.  The restaurant was almost empty, so it was super-quiet... no music or anything.  The only redeeming quality was the woman who served beverages... she was nice.  I just wanted to eat and leave ASAP... it was just weird.  I can't imagine this restaurant is going to survive.  Maybe they should just turn the entire place into a halal grocery.

WOW! Another Halal place discovered.Great food, excellent decor and ambiance, superb service. The owners are Moroccans so they know what they're doing. The tea was out of this world good. A little pricey though...Highly recommended!

Apparently this is now a Somalian restaurant.  I haven't been there yet. I really wanted to give this a 4.5 but I'm rounding up because it's such a nice alternative to the…

Recently returned and noticed like the other reviews here that the place is no longer owned by Moroccans, but by Somalians. They were friendly enough but the place is now filled out with imported groceries along the side wall which looks rather strange. The food was still pretty tasty but I enjoyed the place more under the previous ownership. If you're looking for real quality Moroccan cuisine with great service I would recommend La Kasbah on 2nd Street in Harrisburg. I've been to this place just once but I really enjoyed the visit. Food was excellent, service good,…

I wont bother with my review. We ate here several times after it first opened.E you are not off base. The current establishment is not the same as what was there when it first opened. Even then I was somewhat disappointed. Had I been there when you visited I would have walked out.

UhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhDid this place change management?I will never go back here even though the food was decent....  What's not decent?  Plenty.1) The sign outside reads Sahara- Moroccan Cuisine, yet when you get the menu and are greeted by obvious non-Morrocons, you begin to wonder what you have gotten yourself into.  Also, no Hookah.2) Upon entering, the restaurant is split into a cafe sort of style with 5 small, small tables (not for eating) on the right and a grocery section on the left.  I don't think this was originally there when previous yelpers visited.  3) If you do want to eat, they give you plenty of time to second guess your decision to.  It turns out the food is now Somalian.  And due to their culture, ordering here is quite an experience, which if you are curious still, is detailed below-The gentleman sat us down in the small sofa style room which looked like an afterthought when entering the room but was cute with the middle eastern decorations and fabrics.  After we sat down, we didn't get the gentleman back for another 20 minutes.  I had to get up and ask for menus from a woman who I think was his wife.  Being muslim she didn't respond to me directly, she in turn talked right to my 3 year old daughter and gave the menus to us saying the man would be back to take the orders.  I sat back  down and we looked over the menu.First impression of the menu wasn't bad, some things I was familiar with- humus, falafel, shawarma, etc.  But was some interesting traditional Somalian food that I had never heard of.  We chose a hummus appetizer and the Somalian dish, Chicken Soghar as our entree.  The woman had been back to give us water but she refused to take our hummus appetizer order.  We didn't get to order until the man had finished serving the one other couple in totality.   No "I'll be right with you," or "Give me one minute."  Just no acknowledgement.  As if we weren't there.  Our appetizer order was turned down until he was done with them even after we had been waiting for so long and tried to catch him inbetween delivering the food.  He refused. Finally the man came to us, we ordered our whole order at once, stating humus as an appetizer, but of course it came out with the entree.  The entrees are supposed to come with salad and lamb or goat soap, but they were neglected and never came out at all (they either never had the salad and soup or think people won't read the fine print and are trying to save/make money).  Our entree was supposed to come with rice or noodles.  It came with neither.  They came with a flour type pancake which was mushy and a bit bland.  The Chicken Soghar was actually pretty tasty but was barely warm.  There were about 3 chunks of chicken 2 chunks of potato in a small dish for $11.  The gravy tasted good, pretty similar to Moroccon, but it simply was not worth the money.  The sole other couple in the dining room seemed equally annoyed.  The guy asked the server if the entree was supposed to come with soup or salad.  The server replied, "Yes, but..."   Silence.  Ooops.  "Ok, I will give it to you to go."  He returned with nothing but the bill. When they left, the woman convinced the guy not to leave a tip and normally I would feel bad not leaving one but I almost had to agree with her.  Leaving out half the food you advertise and serving unbelivably small portions for the price, coupled with bad service really did deserve no tip.  And so the night ended.    :(The worst part was I really didn't feel guilty.  The guy who served was either born here or raised here and should have an idea how to run a restaurant at least service-wise.  I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but I couldn't in the end.  This is obviously not the same Sahara.  Can't be.Right?

Superior.  One of the nicest, most unusual restaurants I've been to. Get the Sahara Feast, $26/person - BYOB
