REALLY GOOD!!I'm semi-wasted faced, but I'm going to give this place 4 stars. The group ordered the seafood platter for an app and it featured some of the BEST oysters I've ever had in my life. Words cannot describe how tasteful they were. They were perfect. Clearly fresh off the boat/out of the sea. Truly a delight. For my main course I had the goat-cheese salad and tuna tartar appetizer. I was joined by 4 people but the only dish I sampled was the duck entree and it was really really great. The accompanying sauce really compliemented the duck (which was actually a bit overcooked for my taste--but I didnt order it so not a BFD). FANTABULOUS. The service was relatively slow, but I think the point of middle-eastern restaurants is to savor each course, so I'm not going to get all east-coast/DC high maintenance on the establishment.Following dinner we went downstairs and partook in some hookah smoking, wine drinking, and belly-dancer observing. I was joined by 4 men, so it was kind of awkward to see these guys who were either married or coupled oggle the super hot chick giggling away. I must admit it was ZEXY, but it was still an awkward situation!Anyhoodles, should anyone ask for a restaurant recommendation while in Boston I will definitely place my vote on Tangierino.

I didn't eat there but this place is wildly overpriced unless the food is prepared with the hand of god.

Belly dancers, hookahs, and strong drinks? LOVED IT!I only wish it were more accessible by T.

The newly incarnated Tangierino is a place where you feast your eyes but not your palate. The decor brings in the nomadic chic without overdoing the kitsch (well, perhaps, they should replace the cheap tulle covering the special tables). However, since the renovation, I would call the changes to the menu underwhelming. Years ago, the cold starter along with the bread consisted of a tangy eggplant concoction and tart olives. The blandness of the new starter is a harbinger for the meal to come: the hummus is barely tart and the olives seem to belong in your martini, not your bread plate. We had the two chicken dishes and though they used high quality meat, my dish with the coucous had chicken that lacked any added flavor. I would have even been grateful if it was salted. My husband's dish promised pomme frites which looked more like the fries we would get at Warren Tavern. Yesterday was my birthday so I am a bit disappointed I wasted my special meal on their mediocre flavors, but then again, the week is young and I have time to celebrate!

I used to love this place. My fiance and I went here for our one year anniversary and had a delicious meal, as well as got to sit in the hookah bar right away. I would have highly recommended the foie gras and the lamb shank couscous. The wines are pretty good, especially the Spanish ones. The 3 times we went after this kept going downhill. We always told our server in advance that we would like to smoke the hookah but once we had to wait for 1.5 hours and another time we never got in. The last time I went they had just finished remodeling and it smelled like varnish. The menu was limited and the food was ehhhh. We smoked the hookah and that was probably the best part of the night. I hope they have improved since last November but I am not sure if I would want to chance the trip all the way out to Charlestown.

I have been wanting to go here for months, pretty much since I have found it on here when I joined. My friend finally brought me here for my birthday. We got the VIP treatment! We got the "cave" for free, usually it's $30 to reserve but because it was slow and my birthday celebration they gave this romantic abode for free. I felt like a princess in that cushy room as I was being served impressive hookahs and alcoholic beverages while lounging with my shoes off. The music would go from Frank Sinatra to Bollywood and it worked! This is MY type of classy restaurant! Dark, sultry, beautiful and with hookahs! The food was superb, it was a little strange to me that they didn't have more vegetarian options. I'm not a vegetarian I just prefer it over meat usually. My only negatives of the place were the tvs, they didn't fit. And WARNING TO MY FELLOW HOOKAH LOVERS: You have to pay for the hookahs by the hour, and it's easy to lose yourself there so it racks up to a pretty penny. But I suppose this place DOES get busy and it's their only way of regulating it. I would love going here with a few friends just to enjoy the hookah for a few hours, just for the atmosphere.I came here with a friend on a Saturday night around 8:30. We Valet parked the car after unsuccessfully circling around for like 15 minutes for street parking. I had to pay upfront $15 for the Valet, which I found a little strange. We get inside, the hookah lounge was full, so we decided to wait at the bar upstairs until the waitress calls us. We had a drink, and then decided to go downstairs to look for our waitress, and we were seated by the owner, I think! We ordered the eggplant/goat cheese appetizer which was really good and a blueberry flavored Hookah. My friend ordered red wine and I got beer. The place is on the dark and romantic side with loud music, uncomfortable seats (at least for me), and expensive! It was a nice experience, we had a good time, but I wouldn't come here often.I went here last night with 2 friends and it was all around a great experience. The seating was nicely spaced (you don't sit on top of people like in the restaurants in the north end). The decor is really nice. Now I like ethnic foods but didn't know what to order so I had the waiter order for me and it was a great decision. The eggplant appetizer (Moroccan-Sicilian Eggplant Tagine) is awesome and the vegetable couscous was also great. I had the 8 oz Sultan's Kadra for my entree and it was delicious. Next time I go I will probably order the lamb, ribs or chicken over vegetable couscous. The one thing I didn't enjoy was the cocktail I ordered, I can't remember the name and it's not listed on the website's menu. All in all I will be going back to Tangierino, once I find a night I want to splurge on dinner. 4.5 stars. My boyfriend and I have been to this place twice. The first time we visited we didn't like the place at all, food wasn't great for the price and service was simply OK (we sat at the bar). I guess we were expecting more since I had been recommended. We decided to give it a second chance, this time, the service was a little better but towards the end they forgot about the lonely couple once the large parties started to come in.5 of my girlfriends and I were so excited for this dinner. We arrived at the restaurant and were told to wait at the bar because our table wasn't ready. You could see there was something going on as the hostess and manager were going back and forth whether or not to seat us. They sat us nearly right away, in a tent. This "tent" had a light out and it was literally impossible to see the menu. We all had our cell phones out trying to read what was on the menu. When we asked the waiter for more candles or to fix the light, he was not impressed and only after our food arrived and we asked for a 3rd time did he bring us the candles. We ordered dinner and it arrived within 5 minutes. The waiter came over several times to take our food away that we were STILL EATING. We finished the meal and the food was great. The waiter 5 of my girlfriends and I were so excited for this dinner. No offer of coffee or dessert. So we asked and he said "yes, we have a dessert menu, you can also have dessert downstairs." So obvious they were rushing us out the door. When we were leaving we told the manager that it was apparent they wanted us out. He offered us free dessert downstairs, but our feelings had already been hurt so we declined. He also said he was 'aware of the situation' and specifically told the waiter to offer us dessert! What "situation" was he aware of? As we were outside leaving, the manager came after us with the waiter and said "He says he did offer you dessert." Atrocious customer service. It's too bad, the food and atmosphere was great - the service from the waiter to the manager was awful. Our reservation was for 8pm, they had us out the door by 8:50.

Yum. So good. Went here the other night for the BF's big birthday. Man, oh, man, wish I had two stomachs. Started with the tuna tartar-esque appetizer. So fresh. I then had the chicken couscous tagine. Love the cous. BF had the zataar spiced rack of lamb. He said perfection, I trusted. The waitstaff was extremely attentive and friendly. Decor fab. Would have given 5 stars except the dessert fell flat. Unfortunately they served a creme brulee with a liquidy top. C'mon, everyone knows you have to fully brulee the top! Must have crunch! Overall a great date place, would definitely go back.

I can't say that i was exactly impressed. I hear so many great things about this place that when we decided to go grab dinner there an a laid back Friday night I was excited. The decor and the atmosphere is unique. With comfy couches separate rooms, low lighting and morocan style decorations on the walls gives this place a very cozy and chill atmosphere. This is the only reason they got 3 stars from me.The server was nice and polite, but sloooooooooooow. Well she was almost always polite except for when she brought us the wrong appetizer, but when we told her that a mistake had been made, she started protesting that that was not so. Until she went and got the menu and we pointed at the actual dish we ordered she would not conceit. Then she did apologize but took another 15 min or so to bring the right dish out. They did have a belly dancer, who belly danced passed us once. That was kinda cool too. But somehow i always imagined that they'd have belly dancers performing constantly or at least more then once. The food was good. Not "OMG you have to go there!". It wasn't bad, but for my personal taste it was very plane for the prices that they were charging per plate. Maybe they feel like you're paying for the atmosphere more then the food. Overall: The service is lacking. Besides being excruciatingly slow when my boyfriend asked them to bring him a knife because they forgot to give him one after the first course, they just plainly never did. Fortunately his entree was a fish and he managed to use the side of his fork. Food: ok, but didn't find it amaizing for the price of the dishes.Atmosphere: beautiful, relaxing, fun.
