went thr this past wednesday for dinner. surprisingly it was not crowded at all. Had a turkish beer - Efes which the hostess recommended. Wasn't bad at all. The food was nice. The ambience decent. They have belly dancing on sat and sun, but that place does look crammed up for someone to actually dance thr.Calling it "pricey" is an understatement. This place is wayyyy overpriced. I dont mind paying a price for good food in a posh restaurant. If i had to compare the food, the restaurant and the price - i wud say the food (performance) was a honda, the restaurant (looks) were acura-ish and the price of a Mercedes S-Class.anyways, i am a foodey. i like middle-eastern/ turkish food. The kabobs (kebaps as it is called on the menu here) ...and i liked those. Wont mind goin thr once in a while.

The food here was good, but nothing worth raving about. The lamb shish kebap was tender and delicious. the baba ghanoush and baklava were also very good. I really have no complaints, but I wasn't knocked off my feet.

Came here with a large group of friends, late at night (around 9 pm?).We opted for the Sultans platter for 4 people plus a moussaka and a pitcher of Turkish fruit wine. The fruit wine is similar to Sangria and quite tasty. The sultans platter was enormous!!!  This alone was enough to feed 6 people.  We were pretty happy with just eating the mixed mezze (appetizers) platter. We liked all of the appetizers except for the one that was similar to coleslaw. Food was plentiful and yummy. The rice pudding dessert was a bit hard and chunky though. There was a belly dance performance, but unfortunately, the belly dancer was quite focused on dancing towards the front of the house, so the 2 large parties towards the back of the restaurant could not see much of her performance. Service here is not very good/okay. The waitress (her 2nd night working) was unfamiliar with the menu and did not seem very comfortable with serving such a large party. There was another waiter assisting her, but there was a lack of communication between the two of them.

The food is good.  It is a good take on Turkish.  The lamb chops were delicious.  There is also a belly dancer on some nights.   The decor is fun.  Almsot a dark loungy feel.  It's a great place to go if you have a group of 4 or more.  You can be sat in private curtained booths or couches.  I highly recommend the Turkish Tea

This restaurant, in the spot where JPN Shogun used to be years ago, is a hidden gem in the Charles Street corridor. Just south of Mick O'Sheas, this is a great restaurant for any day of the week.I've been jaded since I moved to Baltimore about 8 months ago in terms of food (nothing holds a candle to the places in SF), but Cazbar was a really great meal and in my top ten of Bmore.Oh, apparently there is belly dancing on weekends (I haven't seen this yet though).

We decided to come here on our last night in Md. with my family and Turkish guest, to give him a chance to taste some of his normal treats. We chose Cazbar after reading the reviews on yelp and finding a certificate on http://restaurant.com. Cazbar is located in downtown on Charles Street so it's easy to get to. When we arrived, we saw a sign saying "complimentary valet parking", so everyone else went inside and I waited for the valet parking guy. Well the valet guy never showed up and a van 2 cars in front of me pulled out of his metered spot. So, in I went and on to the Cazbar. We had double portions of the appetizer plate and the sultan's plate (since we were 9 people). When the plates came, they looked small. But there was a lot of food crammed on those plates, and quite tasty! Eggplant, hummus were well received as was the spicy eggplant (and I do mean spicy). The sultan's platter had tasty chicken and lamb, and surprisingly, some shrimp (Turkey being a mostly Muslim country and not eating shell fish). All was tasty and my nephew, who is known not to try new things, tried everything and liked it!I had tea to top it off and many at the table had Turkish coffee, which they all enjoyed. We also had Turkish wine (both red and white) and was quite smooth. The waiter was a nice fellow, very chatty and fun.We had a great time at Cazbar and would come back again.

I like this place.  I've always had incredibly great services both during dining and at the bar.  The food is above average; I had the chicken kebab, and it was cooked quite nicely.  They also have hookahs there, so it's a nice bonus to the place.  Haven't seen the belly dancer performed, so cannot say much about that.

This place is great! If you go DO try the hummus it is outstanding. It comes with a piece of turkish bread (freshly baked) and let me tell you that you will crave it once you leave. In addition to hummus I had their mixed kabob platter (enough for two people if you want to share). It was really tender and came with salad and rice...Really Gooood! Another time I went I had a kufta sandwich with a side of fries and it was yummy.....

I'm surprised to see "just average" reviews for this place. My gf and i decided to stop by Cazbar for dinner around 6PM after a long workday. We were seated to a fairly empty restaurant, but the lady who seated us took the time out to really explain everything and make us feel welcome. I think one of the things that contributed to our having a great experience with this restaurant was that we were pretty much the only ones here since it was early. I hear the weekends are packed with people and there is a club upstairs, as well as weekend bellydancing. Anyways, back to the food. I've gotta say that their Adana Iskender was really, really good. It's like pita bread layered with a slightly spicey red sauce, topped with strips of tender lamb. Excellent. We also had the Doner Kebap, which was layers of lamb and beef over rice that came with a yogurt sauce(their signature dish i guess). Anyways by the time we left an hour later, the place was starting to fill up, but we left completely full and thought the food was definitely above average. I'll probably be back when i'm craving lamb, and can't make it out to Samos in Greektown.

The food was good and the servers were all very nice. The music was a little loud and my meat was overcooked, but on the whole it was a nice evening. My sister's baby lamb was tasty!
