Pretty relaxed place to hang out and play some pool or drink. Cool bar area with some seating and large projection screen of whatever's playing at the moment. Wouldn't realyl recommend it for dancing though, even tho there is a small dance area. If you're a non-smoker and/or smoking intolerant, this is not the place for you. Tons of pple smoking hookahs, etc. Not sure what the prices are, but it was pretty full.Crowd is a bunhc of local GMU kids so young 20s

The hookah was good. But I didn't drive out to Fairfax to pay $3.75 for a Bud Light and be surrounded by sausage.

Bridges is a typical college town pool hall. My pool league plays here every Tuesday which is why I have returned post-graduation. The tables are much better now since they've been refelted and leveled but there are a few tables that have 'unique' rolls. Don't know how much tables cost per hour so can't comment there. Food the usual bar fare. During the week they have great happy hour specials until 8 p.m. - think it's 1/2 priced apps and cheap drafts/domestic bottles.

Bridges is my favorite bar in Fairfax, hands down! My only complaint is that they don't let me go out to my car and then back in. Just kidding. But seriously, great place, especially Wednesday nights -- you cannot find better music on a Weds night in that area. I guarantee it.This is Dan btw

Bridges has something for everyone. Although some people feel that translates to nothing for anyone. Is it a pool hall? A bar with slightly upscale food? A club? A sports bar? A hooka bar? It's all those things. It's one of the least sketch places to indulge in hookah while having a nice adult beverage. It has a dance floor and a DJ on weekend nights. During games, the fairly small seating area is situated around a big projector screen. And, as always, a third of the place is a billiard hall.Is it cheap? No. But, in Fairfax, inexpensive is an uncommon adjective outside of happy hours and promotions. $4 for a beer and $9 for a long island is very average.Service...is hit or miss. I've had great servers - last time the server girls all made a half-hearted attempt at a schoolgirl outfit theme which was nice (small shirt - check, pleated skirt - check, ...tennis shoes? c'mon now). Some of the bartenders are great and a couple seem outraged that you should have the nerve to ask for a drink. I'm not like ordering Mai Tais either...I typically order a Coors Light bottle ($4 during regular pricing). The hookas are okay - could stand to be cleaned a bit more thoroughly. The $14.25 price is extravagant unless you're splitting it with a group.Come on a weekend night and expect no less than 53 bouncers. About half stand outside, a quarter just inside the door, the other quarter slink about leering at you while you're minding your own business. There's usually a lot of eye candy at Bridges. If you're a single guy or a guy with a sane girlfriend - all be better. If you've got a jealous nut, expect nonsense. I'm told the guy half of the equation is pretty balanced there as well.Oh--and allow plenty of time to close out your tab late. The bar gets super packed and there are usually only 2 cocktails with too many tables. On weekend nights, there's an attendant in the men's room. Make sure to have a dollar or two in cash for the guy--he's very cool.

if you want to rave glowstick style, go to bridges.if you want to smoke hookah, go to bridges.if you want to dance to okay music, go to bridges.if you want to play pool, go to bridges.if you want to get drunk, go to bridges.this place is seriously the twilight zone..duh-duh-duh-duh.......but i also must ask, what other place do you know can bring freaks-geeks-frats together? i mean, not saying that they were all dancing with each other but still.i went with great company. we somehow, snagged a table with a couch and ordered a hookah. we sat down and the table was dirty so we asked a girl who was a "server" if she would get someone to clean it up. she looked at us like we had three heads. the people before us left an atrocious mess of birthday cake splattered over the table and then threw it on the ground.we started the night with a shot of a washington apple, one of the better washington apples that i have had, it wasn't too too sweet.i sipped on a cranberry vodka the rest of the night because we ordered a double lemon-lime hookah which gave a nice buzz. it has now become one of my favorite flavors.toward the end of the night i started to feel a little sick, i think the hookah smoke, cigarette smoke and sweat smell was getting to me.i was talking to a friend the other day and he said the best night to go is a thursday and thats about it. he also mentioned they have really good happy hour specials.for hookah i would go back. the pool tables were full the entire night. i think you have to put your name on a list because they kept calling out people's names. but it doesnt matter because i suck at pool. i dont know if i would hit the dance floor, im not much of a dancing queen plus there were some weirrrd people out there.its not the nicest but its local.

If you're over 23. Or even 24 (that's pushing it) you shouldn't be here. It's crowd is almost always very young a la HELLO I attend GMU. The drinks are expensive. Hit or miss with a decent pour, dare I say it could be too heavy of a pour sometimes? When it's coming from a plastic bottle, yes it can be too heavy of a pour. it's dark, gloomy and the floors! Sticky. Makes me feel like a roach stuck to sticky paper. Food? I would never eat here. DJs all playing from laptops, might as well just get satellite radio? Costs less and doesn't ask for free drinks on top of getting paid to play radio tracks. Maybe I'm being too harsh? Probably a fun place if you're in school, not so much at my age. Can't forget about the Fairfax City police always outside waiting for you to leave after last call.

Gone several times on weekends. It has everything under one roof from billiards to hookah to booze to dancing. Lame DJ with awkward high school run ins mixed with the usual ed hardy d-bags. Resposive bartenders and a surprising amount of security so def get a DD. Decent night out if you don't want to drive closer into the city. Best college night in fairfax area for sure.

i'd recommend against sitting at the bar, uncomfortable chairs and it gets awkwardly crowded on bus nights. sitting in the lounge or at a pool table means waitress service and the girls are really hot. some can be stuck up and forgetful though, try to get tammy (pretty little brazilian with a great rack) or holly (cute brunette babe) they're the sweeter of the girls and they give good service, usually remember you and what you order if you come often.if you must sit at the bar, ask for rosemary (smokin latina, only female bartender) drew or josh, all are very friendly and timely and their drinks are mixed well.best food: wings (cajun), quesadillas, chicken ceasar wrapworst food: calamaribest hookah flavors: blue mist and sex on the beachworst hookah flavor: probably grapebest night to go: thursday ($1 domestic bottles happy hour, ladies night)worst night to go: monday (weak crowd and staff)other staff: i met one of the managers one night, tony, cool ass guy, real nice. never met the owner but i heard from someone he's a douche. the bouncers are slightly creepy, except the one with long hair and the big black dude are chill. the ones at the door are sleazy and weird. the bathroom attendants are cool as hell, tip them and tip the hostesses they're real cute and they hold your ids when you forget them. djs are hit or miss but play mostly top40 stuff except wed is techno night.

I frequent Bridges but only because of free pool on Mondays and Tuesdays (might even be Sunday too) and the pretty good happy hour specials on those days. Half priced appetizers and some kind of deal that basically makes cheap beers cheaper between 4pm and 8pm. I don't quite know the exact special, but I can get a hearty quesadilla and a couple beers for around $6. Add in free pool and it's not a terrible way to spend the evening. So, why the two stars? Well for starters, the atmosphere is weird, in a bad way. Kind of a mix of spaceship, gothic, danceclub, pool hall and hookah bar. Almost feels like some cliche underground club in movies where all the bad teens go to hang out. Many other reviewers have said it feels fratastic, but that might be more of a weekend thing. I've only been on Monday and Tuesday and it's more of a diverse crowd. The absolute worst thing though is how terrible their draft beer is. Something is (consistently) up with their taps because the beer is perpetually skunked. I'm not really that picky but I almost threw up once after taking a sip of Miller Lite. I don't quite know how you can continue to serve funky beer like that but that is apparently the standard at Bridges. I don't dare take a chance so I stick with bottles. Any mixed drinks I've ever had have seemed small and weak. I got a white russian once but may as well have just ordered half and half on the rocks. A screwdriver loving friend of mine says their orange juice/drink tastes like Tang, which may or may not be a good thing to you.Overall, go on a Monday or Tuesday; eat cheap, non-offensive food; drink cheap BOTTLED beer; play free pool. Don't expect anything else.
