Madina is a local Afghan-owned market that I frequent for two specific purposes: weakening my lungs and deafening my ears.For those reasons and those reasons only, this market is perfect. It carries probably twenty different flavors of hookah tobacco ranging from your generic Al-Nakhla to the much more high-end and smooth tasting Al-Fakhr. It's a bit on the pricey side, but if you really want to enjoy your hookah smoking experience, I recommend mixing white grape and apple Al-Fakhr inside of a real apple. It's such a sweet treat that if prepared correctly will send you into a fruity nirvana. In fact, it's so good that it'll make you forget all about the screaming voices on the other end of the international phone call many of us must make every now and then to check in with family in the motherland...You know those calls, where one is left sceaming "ALO! ALOOOOO?!" at 2 AM in an attempt to verify communication with the person on the other end, even though there is no need to scream anymore because telephone technology has greatly improved since the 90s... yeah, but the screaming still never ends.
