Mediterranean Gourmet Market Reviews

THis place has the best Kabobs I have had in DC area, the lebne is very good good and the hummus is the very best of the best! Not to be beaten in DC. The greek salad is a little weak but the other things are very very strong, not too pricey either. Nothing beats great lebanese cooking with grandma in the back churning out you meal you can not go wrong. This is a real find for a good healthy lunch or dinner on the run, they also have a great little market with breads, nuts desserts and music of you are so inclined, if you are in the area and hungry you should stop here to eat, you will not be disappointed. You can even watch the lebanese news while you eat if you can understand what they are saying! Have fun! PS-I'm Italian

I just got take out from this place for my lunch. I had Falafel, Chicken Kabob and Spinach Manakish with some sweets. This place has the table to sit and eat but it is a kind of the small place. Besides this place is a grocery store. I did not feel like eating here. I love falafel. There are so many vegetables inside. Also I tasted sourly which I really like that. Also my BF loved Spinach Manakish. It has very nice lemon flavor. I love the bread as well. They bakes the pie on the brick oven. I was not a big fun of Chicken Kabob. I guess when we ate this, we found the hair inside the salad. The rice that came with was very tasty. I did not like the chicken kabob much. It is too soft and I almost felt that it was still raw. The sweets was kid of pricey compared to other place. I was kid of annoyed of the face that they charged you more if you do take out. It was $1 more for each dish. All this experience, we will go back to order some oven special or Sandwiches.

If you are looking for manaeesh in the DC area, this is the place to go!As a Lebanese-American who has had the pleasure of enjoying amazing manaeesh back in Lebanon, I had been craving those freshly baked flat pies of goodness ever since I moved back to the States. I had found a few good places in SoCal, but ever since moving to the DC area, I was at a loss.Mediterranean Gourmet came to the rescue...they have the really good manaeesh which come in many varieties: meat, cheese, and the classic Zaater. If you go with the cheese, I recommend asking for Halloum cheese, although it is a bit more expensive - the default cheese they use is not my favorite. I have not tried anything else here, but I heard the lebne is good. BTW, this place is also a Mediterranean grocery store where you can find many Mediterranean style products such as pita bread and hookah equipment.
