Man, this place is so sunken into a shopping center I NEVER remember about it, but I love it!  Some of the stuff on their shelves looks like it's been there longer than I am old, but they have a gyro pizza that is soo good.  It's expensive, around $7 for a personal gyro pizza but it's made on a pitta with gyro meat and cheese and tomatoes (no sauce).  I thought it was so good I've frozen it and brought it back to NY for my brother before.

Yumyumyumyumyum.  This bakery has AMAZING hummous.  I grew up eating the stuff homemade (my dad is Syrian) and this is as close to homemade as it gets.  The prepared food section rocks -- great baba gannoush, stuffed grape leaves, fethayer, and shawarma.  The bread is made fresh daily, and is soft and delicious.  The sweets selection is excellent.  I highly recommend the chocolate walnut baklava.  The grocery section of the bakery has an unbelievable selection of olive oil and other international foods (Milo, anyone?).  Go here now, you won't regret it!

I love this place!  It is my favorite Middle Eastern market in the area!  The falafel is WONDERFUL!!  My favorite, however, has got to be the various types of baklava... pistachio, cashew, almond....MMMMMMMM!!

I happened to reach here when I couldn't find parking in D.C (don't ask me how)- what a find! It's located in a run of the mill strip mall, but the stuff inside is anything but that. Apart from the regular stuff (falafels, babaghanough etc) they have these awesome lebanese pies. The spinach with feta cheese one was heavenly. Very authentic stuff! The grocery store was nice too- cheeses, olives, pita et all. Its quite a trek from my place, but I'll be there again.

A hidden gem within a strip mall in the west end area and one of my favorite places. I make weekly trips to stock up on hummus, garlic pita chips and pita bread--plus an occasional lunch.  I can also kill some serious time in the spice and olive oil aisles---a very extensive/great selection.Three people ate well and had bottled water for $17, WOW!!!  You can find everything from kinder toys to baked goods there (the cream puff is to die for).   It's a hole in the wall, but cheap and super delicious!  Unbelievable baked goods, fresh everything, and a riotus selection of hot sauces.Delish honey combs, and everything you can imagine.Gyro Pizza is great too!Oh I was so excited to find this place, and right in my neighborhood! First of all, great grocery section. There is so much fun stuff to explore and try. If you've ever lived overseas you will probably run into some old favorites! I got a quick lunch there, which is one of the best deals I've had in a long time. You get a nice sized chicken shwarma pita sandwich with a side of hummus and pita chips for $5!!! You can also get turkish coffee, yum. They have a great prepared food section where you can pick up your favs- hummus, grapeleaves, etc. All very cheap. Especially compared to what hummus costs in the regular grocery stores. We also decided to sample a few treats from the bakery. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of Middle Eastern sweets but these were tasty and high quality. I will definitly be stopping here on a regular basis. I highly recommend it!

A cozy little grocery with great, cheap takeout sandwiches for lunch.  You can dine really well here for under 6 bucks.   Atmosphere is a little cafeteria like, so I would avoid eating in unless it's super casual. The only thing I haven't enjoyed here was the dolmas -- they were hard and the rice was undercooked.

I highly recommend it!It's been a few months since I've been to this area, but everytime, without fail, I stop to the Mediterranean Bakery. Not only they have a great pastry shop, but the hot food is awesome. I have tried the Shish Tak-Wuk (sp?) It compares to the best one I had in Montreal...go figure.. all hot items have a small side of hummus with toasted pita bread... the bread is very crunchy. I wonder if you can get the pita not toasted. I have had the chicken swarma too...yummmTry the baklava...assorted meat pastries ... great place!  Check out the olive oil..cold cuts, cheeses...etc...Tried the chicken shwarma and gyro.  Both came with pita chips and some hummus for a little over $5.  Flavorful shwarma and gyro.  Pita chips with hummus was nice too.  For the price and taste, I give this place 5 stars.  I really like these casual places with great flavor and prices.
