Kashmir Indian Restaurant Reviews
by Michael C.
I really would have given this place 3.5 stars but Yelp just won't let me. The location is amazing for people watching. I went on a Saturday for their lunch buffet with a friend and the prices were extemely reasonable for Newbury Street. We got out of there for around $30 all together. I thought their naan was great, their chicken tikka masala was also good. I also was able to try this coconut curry shrimp dish they had (can't remember the name) that was also good. The biggest plus of tis place is the location thought. I would go back if I was in the area for some cheap patio eats. As a side note, I didn't think the service was all that great. Even though we did go during buffet time. I didn't think the wait staff was very attentive.

I wonder which Indian restaurant is considered the "best" in boston.

My love for indian food runs deep and Kashmir has been fine standby when in the Newbury street vacinity.I usually end up here when having dinner with people and convincing them to do indian, the swank downstairs entrance and soft lighting usually gets them through the door. That being said, the food is fine, nothing out of this world but never a dissapointment. The service has been prompt for me, probably because they tend to get a line on the weekends. The prices are exactly what you would expect for a Newbury street restaurant, three star food at 4 star prices.

I am always seeking good authentic Indian food in Boston and so far I have been disappointed. Kashmir is a good restaurant the service is good and people are friendly. I went in for the buffet and the spread was not bad. They had miniature samosas, the chicken tikka was good was not bleached out of flavor (In comparison to other Indian restaurants around), they had beef meat balls which was different and the Naan was good. However I must that the tables were really close to one another and I was forced to listen to other table's conversation. I must conclude that this is really far from authentic Indian food and my search will continue. This place is not bad if you want to experience a different cuisine and the plus is that you don't smell of curry when you leave the restaurant.

The food was really teriffic, but the service and overall experience was less than great. I would have given it 4 Stars for the food, but there was no greeting upon arriving and no good bye or thank you for coming. The food was good enough that we asked to have the chef come out so we could thank him. But he was 'too busy' to come out. Strange since the restaurant was only 20% full. Disappointing that they don't have time for their paying customers.

This place is extremely over-rated and over priced and I refuse to go back here.

This place is gorgeous. They usually have on pretty decent music (except for this fucking enya song, blecch!). The decor is really nice and I love the way the tables are set up. Nice and cozy. The problem is that the quality of the food does not match the quality of the furnishings. It is good, but could be way better. For starters, this place is expensive. A plate of murgh korma and one serving of garlic naan cost like $21. I wouldn't necessarily mind if the food was amazing, but it simply isn't.I had the Murgh Korma, which is basically chicken, cashews and I guess it's supposed to be some kind of cashew sauce (it usually is everywhere else) but it tasted kind of bland and I don't think it was a cashew sauce. The things that made up for it though, were these nice little flavors that popped up every once in a while. There were raisins in there, which actually went along quite nicely with the bland sauce. There was cardamom and some other stuff in there too. I think they boiled the chicken though. I didn't like that too much. The garlic naan looked wonderful but tasted ok. I would've ordered some other stuff but again, way too expensive. Waitstaff was good. I had a conversation with the waiter about how a lot of places in the area tone down the spice for Americans, but I like it pretty spicy. So I asked for it medium-hot. When the dish came it wasn't bad, but it could've been hotter.I mean, this is a good place but there are way better ones in Allston. In fact I really haven't been to any Indian place in Back Bay that's impressed me a whole lot. The first time I went, they didn't have fennel by the door, which I thought was weird. The second time I went, though, they did. I've been here twice now. The most recent time, I told the waiter that I want my dish REALLY REALLY spicy. It came back with BARELY any spice in it. I got the same thing I did the first time and the dish tasted very watered down compared to the first time. I'm seriously disappointed.

Food was mostly average with a highlight or two. I have had better India cuisine many times. And OMG!, the most unpredictable service I have seen. It took longer than usual to get our order placed and then the food came what seemed like minutes later. After that, we were never checked up on. Literally finished eating and sat for 20 minutes before anyone cleared the table. The bill to arrive you might ask? Another 15 minutes. We weren't too concerned (we are two very laid back people) but I can see where that might be annoying.Onto the food: I did enjoy the special of the day Samosas: mushroom and cheese. Nice. The other half had a Mango Murg Tikka of some sort. It was quite good. My Murg Curry was well, how do you mess that one up? It was fine but not spectacular. On a whole other note, the pomegranate martini was amazing. It may have saved this place a star. I don't know what kind of goodness they put into that drink, but it was remarkable. We would both go back just to have that drink on the deck.

I grant you a free pass to hit up Kashmir for 2 reasons: If you 1) have never been there before or 2) are walking by and have a craving for Indian food. Both are acceptable reasons to stop inside for some standard Indian dishes, but I can't really think of any others...Firstly, the ambiance is lacking - the interior is little more than a failed attempt to not be tacky. That's a bit disappointing because upon first glance inside, you FEEL like its going to be a great atmosphere, and then the longer you sit inside surrounded by the ultra deep colors with glitz and random statues, you begin to rethink...The food is a similar experience. It's all good, but really mediocre from what you might hope for. And that's kinda sad, since it's on Newbury, and therefore not cheap by default.Stick to Kashmir only for the two reasons I listed and you won't be disappointed!

Not bad for a random Indian place in a touristy area of Boston. Went there for the lunch buffet and thought the $10 price was reasonable. They offered good standard dishes. One thing that irked me was that their service. It took forever to get water and I felt a little rushed by the waitstaff during the meal. Would go again if I was in the area but don't have high expectations for the place.

I haven't been here in forever but I can easily say that it was one of the best indian buffet lunches I've ever had. The place is absolutely beautiful, the naan was to die for (don't worry, I'm alive), and the food overall was awesome given the low price tag.I will totally be hitting this place up in the summer for some girl-on-hookah action. With some Indian food on the side. Can't wait to go back there. Let's go lunch here.
by Blair H.
Seriously? No. A night of disappointment after disappointment. First off, I'd like to warn everyone thinking of having dessert upstairs at Johnny Cupcakes. THEY DON'T HAVE CUPCAKES! I almost burnt the place down in rage. Tragic. As for the Indian food...Atmosphere is nice. Al Fresco is nice. But you could eat for a year in India for what you'll pay here. I wouldn't mind if the food was amazing AND pretty (ahem. khushis. edinburgh). But I felt as if I was pick pocketed by little Indian orphans after eating well presented street food.If you're wanting to stay on Newbury for Indian, I guess it's fine, but there are plenty of yummier Indian shindigs in Boston. Lower your expectations and you'll probably be somewhat satisfied.
by Rebecca F.
Dark meat? Really? Who still serves dark meat? Waitstaff was very nice, but the food was just not comparable to the other 5 Indian places I regularly order from.I will say the chef's naan specials are a nice treat.

I went to Kashmir with my family after reading a few good reviews on Yelp and decided to try it out. It was awful. I'm Indian so maybe my standards for indian food is too high, but the chicken tikka masala was horrible. It was sweet! The dal makhani was a little better, but it wasn't half as good as it's supposed to be. The roganjosh was bad too, the spices were all wrong. The roti was cold and hard. We tried talking to the manager but to no avail. The atmosphere was nice and the location is good, but I wouldn't go back to Kashmir.
by Shaina S.
5 stars immediately upon entering for the delicious smells and the fabulous bronze serving dishes set over tea lights. I eat that kind of shit up and I was totally starving. I also loved some of the little details of the interior, like the backlit carved wood panels behind some of the booths and the cushy pillow I got to rest my arm on.The food was well seasoned and it came out in about 6 minutes, maybe less. I'm completely serious. It was a quiet night, but I was actually slightly worried at the amazing speed! Would my murg tikka masala be fully cooked?Anyways, it was, and it was all quite good. The waiter did make a mistake with one of our dishes which we didn't bother to correct and also made us wait an inordinately long time after clearing our food before bringing our check, but perhaps it was some form of compensation for the super speedy food. The whole experience was just as over-priced as I expected it to be and slightly imperfect, but pretty dang good.
by Ligaya T.
It seems that this is a polarizing place. Admirers praise the warm ambiance, al fresco dining, nourishing, fragrant fare and aromatic shisha. Others remark on the plodding service, unremarkable eats and steep prices. You'll find me squarely in the middle, average caliber in my book.It comes down to cravings and context. In the area anyway? Will nothing satisfy me but the oral pizazz of Indian? You may find me on the patio gleefully deconstructing the outfits of passersby. But on a date in the depths of the restaurant? Highly improbable.
by Serena H.
The chunks of meat. The uninvested waiter. The inauthentic ambiance. I guess it's just novel because it's the only Indian restaurant on Newbury.
by Tiffany D.
3.5 stars? I'm rounding down due to the service. The service was horrible (I asked for dressing on the side and had to argue for awhile he kept saying he'd just put it on the plate... but i ended up getting my salad drenched with dressing anyways...) and it took forever for any sort of service. Had to ask twice and wait like 15 minutes for a doggy bag. We also saw them take our food out and then hesitate to give it to us. Put it down somewhere else and then bring it over 3-5 min later. WTF... but the food was quite tasty. The eggplant... the vegetable samosas... the special, tandoori mango tikka... (a little too saucy and sweet for me tho, and i asked for it HOT but it wasn't even a bit spicy) and the naan's were huge and tasty (Apricot Coconut Garlic)... they gave us tonssss of rice as well. The veggies it came with weren't that fresh tho and the spinach salad said spinach with fruit but it only came with a few pieces of watermlon and carrots... Lame... It's a great place to people watch tho :D I think i went in with too high of an expectation.... it was 2 people for around 55$... (before tip) for an early dinner...I've had better for cheaper price and much better service...

I went to Kashmir with my sister for their lunch/brunch buffet on a weekend. There are definitely more options that the place on Comm Ave but I don't think the quality is that much better. Further, the na'an was literally toasted pita. Seriously?? Otherwise, the service, location, and ambiance is excellent. We sat at the window seat and it was great to just people watch.

With little to no experience with Indian food, It's hard me to comment on the authenticity of Kasmir's cuisine, let alone whether this qualifies as 'good' Indian food. And by good I mean delicious, well-made and satisfying in what makes Indian food, well, Indian food. The al fresco aspect is undeniably ambient. On a warm night, dining outside affords you the ability to people watch on Newbury Street while enjoying your meal. Or lazily smoke their aromatic shisha witha group of friends. These points alone are worth of a few stars. As for the fare, the flavors mingled well throughout the meal...hot meets cool, fluffy bits of naan, tender (not chewy) pieces of meat and a range of spices that kept my palette guessing. That is, when the food finally came. In all of my Boston dining experiences, this is probably some of the worst service I've ever encountered. The lag time between our sitting down and even getting menus was pretty lengthy... and about double for the time between receiving our menus and ordering. And the waiter? He took our order on the inside of his hand with a ball point pen. Yes, the same hands with which he serves people's food. For a restaurant that sits on prime Newbury real estate and considers itself to be "upscale" (in atmosphere, food and price!) I was expecting a better overall experience.

I am abig fan of Indian food and really enjoy my meals at Kashmir. As with most Indian restaurants, I think Kashmir has a wide variety of dishes to choose from. I like the selection of vegetarian options on the menu. I typically order the Aloo Matar, but have strayed from this and tried other vegetarian dishes and liked them. They have a nice wine list and also have traditional Indian beer choices as well as American options. Kashmir has indoor and outdoor seating areas. The inside is small, but cozy. I prefer to eat at Kashmir in the summer months and sit outside. Great people watching, great food, great wine and beer selections. Given that Kashmir is on Newbury Street, it can get crowded quickly. reservations are suggested. My biggest complaint is that on their busier nights, I have felt a bit "rushed" during the meal by the wait staff.

hmmm, if it weren't on a hip street, and wasn't decorated so nice would i have been impressed?highly mediocre. for this part of town, i prefer India Quality on Comm Ave.

I went here for the lunch buffet with Jacob W. today and had a much better experience. There was a decent selection of food that was all really yummy. and for 9.95, you really can't beat the value. Service was much better this time, too.I would give them 4 stars for my experience today, but since I had such a bad experience last time i'll update it to 3 to give an average We went to this place because we had a gift certificate. Sitting on the patio was nice because it…

I don't know much about Indian food so I can't tell you specifically what to order. I'm pretty much racist I guess. All I know is that the food was good, the portions large, sitting outside on Newbury Street was great, and the service was adequate. I don't think it would be a bad idea for them to invest in tablecloths outdoors - their tabletops look like a Connect Four game and anytime something from my drink or fork would spill it ended up on my lap. Yeah, I'm a mess. Wanna fight about it?

I love Indian food so I am probably a little hard on KashmirFirst, Kashmir is on or almost under Newbury street. The decor is very nice in a modern contemporary Indian wayThe food is average at best. The Chicken Tikka appetizer was dry and the aloo was just not good Main course of mixed grill Tandoori and Vinderloo were once again devoid of real flavor, and the Naan was soggy and undercookedThe service as well was rather aloof...Remarkably everyone else seemed to enjoy it, but for people who know Indian food, Kashmir is just not a destination
by Michael D.
Great $10 lunch buffet, but it kind of ends there. Dinner gets a lot more spendy, but I don't understand why. The service was pretty poor when I went. for dinner.but you don't have to worry about that during the buffet.
by Lily C.
Been here a few times for both dinner and the lunch buffet. A-OK. Not good, not bad.+ = Pros- = Cons+ good food from the menu, decent lunch buffet+ good naan+ decently priced buffet for a place on newbury+ nice outside hookah area- service definitely sucked .. the waiter was extremely very inattentive (for example, it took us forever to get water at the very minimum after we were seated and it took forever for us to get our orders placed)- the waiters look like they don't want to be there and make that pretty clear
by Ashlee C.
I have only been here once and that was plenty. I cannot even begin to express the multiple reasons why this is place is the epitome of suck. Let's start with the service. Apparently there was some kind of joke going on that my party was unware of. Every time the waiter came to our table he was laughing his ass off. I thought nothing of it the first time, but after the second and third he began to annoy me. Something must have been hysterical in the kitchen because he would disappear for long periods of time. 4 stars. On to the ambiance. The room itself is very nice and the tables are set with nice linen and glasses. However, they insist on balancing your food on these ridiculous little warmers with tea light candles underneath them. Passing the dishes around to share and balancing them back on the warmers is a stressfull and arduous task. For a party of four, we did not have nearly enough space to accomodate all of them. I felt that at any moment someone could accidentally knock one of these bowls off the warmer and spill forth molten tikka masala sauce. 3 stars.Let's get down to business - the food. It was complete shit and overpriced even by Newbury St. standards. I ordered chicken biryani which was overcooked to the point that I didn't need to do much chewing. The yogurt sauce was bland and insipid. I tasted some chicken tikka masala that was completely underseasoned and too runny. Vegetables garnishing the samosas were not fresh and should not have been put on the plate. To their credit, the naan was good. At least they can make some bread. 2 stars.Adding to my complete distaste for this place, this is the last restaurant I ate at with my ex before he dumped me. I am tempted to give it 1 star for that, but I guess I can't really blame Kashmir for my relationship perils. Final verdict - 2 stars.

I was lucky enough to get a seat on the Newbury Street Patio (though it was a Monday evening) and the restaurant was moderately busy. The setting was nice and the furniture was as decently comfortable as any steel outdoor patio furniture was going to be. The service was a little slow to start off. I think we waited for water for a good 4 or 5 minutes. After we placed our order, however, the food arrived in a timely fashion and was presented nicely and tasted even better. It was my first time going to Kashmir, however, not my first time with Indian cuisine. I was told I was going to be blown away by others who frequent that place. I was not. I would go back if people wanted to go there for dinner but probably won't stroll in there on my own. Not too memorable, but great food nonetheless.

I went to Kashmir with a good friend for a late evening dinner. Overall, it was on the pricey side. Food was good, but not great. Service was spotty, we did not have any contact with our server after placing order and waiting for food to be delivered. My disappointment came at the end of the meal. I had purchased a http://Restaurant.com certificate (wonderful deal BTW) and redeemed it at Kashmir. I sent the certificate back with my credit card with my server and was greeted by the manager (who I had not asked to see) who literally threw my check on the table. He did not ask me how everything was or even thanked me for my business. He literally dropped the check on the table and walked away. This really left a bad taste in my mouth.

the food is so delicious. the service is so bad. I LOVE Their food and it is such a treat to eat it..... I always love to make a nice, wine, hookah-filled evening of it. I always seem to arrive at 9 or a bit later And without fail, the waitstaff always makes an effort to hustle as out. They close at 10, weekends too. The waiters' priorities seem to be to simply Haul out of there. This is terrible, since its always a fancy pants check, and I come to linger, dine and enjoy.Kashmir,I wish you'd do yourself a favor and choose a more accommodating waitstaff. As soon as there's a more delicious Indian restaurant with outdoor hookahs in town (or until I find it) I'll be disloyal to you in a heartbeat. But until then, I'm going to keep coming back for your wonderful food, making the same mistake, as I leave, riffing on and on, incredulous at the egregiously poor service!
by Shelly A.
This used to be one of my favorite places. They they let their patio smoking license expire or something, and -- *poof!* -- no more hookahs until next summer! :( I can't wait; the hookahs are SO GOOD and go SO WELL with the food! (Also: this is pretty much the only place in Boston where you could go for a hookah without paying a cover charge and bribing a bouncer and paying $10+ for a beer. As far as I know, anyway.)Don't get me wrong; the food is great. Love the naan (get the pashwari naan!) and all the dipping sauces; good good good masala; pakodas and samosas hit the spot; and I always willingly spend 4 dollars on a mango lassi that I literally cannot take my lips off of one I start. Four bucks for drink that lasts 20 seconds, guys! And I still do it! Something is wrong with me.Chocolate mousse cake is decadent as all hell, too. Pair it with what is, for whatever reason that I can't figure out, possibly the best cup of coffee I've ever had in my life. (And I'm a coffee freak, man.)Not sure what was up with the mulligatawny but, whatever, it was the only thing I've ever gotten at this place that I didn't like. The patio is so romantic at night, though. Prime spot on Newbury St. Lovely for a date and/or people-watching. (What? You don't people-watch on your dates? Psh. Whatev.)But, as people have mentioned, the service, err, sucks. Really sucks. Definitely don't go here if you're in a rush, because the waiters are in no hurry to get you moving. Don't hesitate to flag someone down either 'cause that's pretty much the only way to get their attention... Otherwise you're on your own.

I recently went to Kashmir with a friend. I've had a lot of Indian food in the past because I'm a huge fan in general and this is definitely one of the better places. Their vegetable samosas were delicious and big-so worth $5. My friend and I split the Murg Korma which was So yummy and just the right amount of spicy(we asked for mild). This place can easily get quite expensive but our entree was $16(they range from $14-20) but all looked large enough to make several meals out of it. So for us, 16$ for 2 dinners and 2 lunches the next day was a great deal. I've read the service was spotty, and while we were not constantly attended to(although our waters never went empty), it seemed as if the waiters were more respectful than aloof. I liked that we weren't rushed to order or finish eating. The atmosphere is kinda romantic but not so much that it was awkward for friends to go. I think this place would be great for dates or even groups-it wouldn't be too pricey if you share entrees(one entree for 2-3 people). Also the naan is HUGE and fresh and amazing($3-5)

I have actually been here twice, as of writing this review, but I'm going to base my review on the time that I went for dinner.I was here last Sunday for dinner with my dad and I didn't expect much. It is in such a nice location that I usually take for granted that the food suffers a little bit or the price goes up a lot. Dinner at Kashmire, however, was a nice surprise. The ambiance was a little on the romantic side, which surprised me (having been there for lunch), but it was quite nice. For dinner I had the Chicken Vindaloo and my dad had the Chicken Tikka Misala. The vindaloo was good, but even though I asked them to make it very spicy, it came to me rather mild. My dad's chicken tikka misala was VERY good, I thought. It was very creamy and was exactly how I liked it. Not very spicy, but he asked them to make it mild.We also asked for the grab-bag type bread plate (I forget the name) which we thought would be a good way to try some breads other than naan. When it came to us, it seemed like all we had was naan, but that may have been a mistake. Overall, this place is a cheaper decision if you're on Newbury and you want some solid Indian food (which is a scenario I find myself in more than you'd think).
by Haley T.
Went on a Tuesday night and this place was empty-The "dinner specials" are not a bad deal. The food was quite tasty, and the service quick. However, our server was pretty rude and apparently angry about having to accommodate me and my dairy allergy. He still gave me food with yogurt sauce on it, despite my attempt to be clear about it. I mean, really, I should be angrier about you trying to poison me.The fact that they have hookah is pretty awesome. Pretty sure there isn't a risk of accidentally ingesting dairy in the hookah (but who knows?) Great place to eat outside in the summer!

I give this establishment 4 stars becausePostives:+ I am biased for Indian food+The dimly lit, and romantic feel warm up my biased even more even if I don't have a date to this place+On Newbury St =), a lot of random shops to enjoy+Food here is one of the best place in Boston for Indian food.+It a great place to spend time with your friend and talk about your old memories or even better with a date to start new ones.Negatives- On Newbury st (Unless you are getting valet or a local, parking can difficult on the weekends)-price is a bit more then some other places for Indian food, but worth in my opinion because the decor, location, and food =)NeutralStaff was A-OKTip:Order the coconut naan bread which has a sweet texture to compliment with any spicy Vindaloos. I love that combo, and there is very few places that have coconut nann bread.

Get the freakin' Tandoori Rack Of Lamb for your own sake! soooooo tender flavorful, it melts in your mouth! BUT f.y.i if your going to get a cocktail from here, please make sure it actually has alcohol in it! i had to send my pomegranate martini back because it was virgin! wtf? and the glassware was not too clean which can be kind of disheartening All in all i give this place a 6.5

After dining here 4 or 5 times, I wish I could give 3.5 stars. Here's why I veered towards 4 stars instead of 3:- The atmosphere is nice for dates. Dimly lit and romantic, beautifully decorated. - The naan is delicious, and HUGE for $3. It's the size of a football. A football covered in melted butter. - The vegetable samosas are fantastic, the best I've had in Boston. Crispy, spicy, not too dense on the inside.- The chicken tikka masala is delicious. The daal makhani is okay. - Good kheer. Here's why I thought about going with 3 stars:- Newbury Street prices. $17 for chicken tikka masala is a bit brutal, in my opinion. You can get the same food, in a less fancy yet still nice atmosphere, at Bukhara in JP. Same owners, same food, lower prices, more hipsters. - Though the atmosphere is nice, sometimes you can feel mobbed, depending where you sit and how loud nearby diners are. - The service can be spotty. Sometimes we've had to wait 20 minutes to get the check. Good thing there's romance in the air while you wait. And wait.

We order delivery from here almost every week and are rarely ever disappointed. I lived for a few years in the Little India neighborhood of Vancouver, so I've had my share of Indian food. Kashmir is definitely comparable. It doesn't serve fusion nor does it try to be edgy or new. It's a basic Indian restaurant that does a decent job serving up the familiar standards and is a great place for those who are new to Indian food.Order the following and you can't go wrong:Appetizer - vegetable samosas with the sweet, dark chutneyMain - chicken tikka masalaand some naan on the side!Oh, and wash it all down with a delicious, hot cup of their sweet, milky chai (black tea)

LET'S TALK ABOUT SANGRIA. Ok, so.... they have a gigantic pitcher of Sangria [about 6 drinks worth] for $20. (Alternatively, you can buy a single glass for $12 if you love throwing away money.) Emily F. and I split said pitcher over the course of 1.5 hours [with dinner] and couldn't feel our faces for a little while after that [meaning: it was strong].Oh and the food is good too. Delicious Chicken Tikki Masala. She got the Mutter Paneer and it looked delectable.I'm pretty sure this place is both exceptional and fancy. Consequently, we had no idea what was going on. They brought Emily a free appetizer while I was 15 minutes late [sorry, Emily]. They lit candles under our entrees to keep them nice and warm = creative + personal fire hazard. After the meal they gave us hot towels. We were confused by this. Also it is one of those legitimately classy establishments that won't bring the check unless you ask for it. Once again: confusion. So to sum up this experience:1) Sangria Pitcher2) Good food3) We can't have nice things.

We order delivery from here almost every week and are rarely ever disappointed. I lived for a few years in the Little India neighborhood of Vancouver, so I've had my share of Indian food. Kashmir is definitely comparable. It doesn't serve fusion nor does it try to be edgy or new. It's a basic Indian restaurant that does a decent job serving up the familiar standards and is a great place for those who are new to Indian food.Order the following and you can't go wrong:Appetizer - vegetable samosas with the sweet, dark chutneyMain - chicken tikka masalaand some naan on the side!Oh, and wash it all down with a delicious, hot cup of their sweet, milky chai (black tea)After dining here 4 or 5 times, I wish I could give 3.5 stars. And wait.Get the freakin' Tandoori Rack Of Lamb for your own sake! soooooo tender flavorful, it melts in your mouth! BUT f.y.i if your going to get a cocktail from here, please make sure it actually has alcohol in it! i had to send my pomegranate martini back because it was virgin! wtf? and the glassware was not too clean which can be kind of disheartening All in all i give this place a 6.5I give this establishment 4 stars becausePostives:+ I am biased for Indian food+The dimly lit, and romantic feel warm up my biased even more even if I don't have a date to this place+On Newbury St =), a lot of random shops to enjoy+Food here is one of the best place in Boston for Indian food.+It a great place to spend time with your friend and talk about your old memories or even better with a date to start new ones.Negatives- On Newbury st (Unless you are getting valet or a local, parking can difficult on the weekends)-price is a bit more then some other places for Indian food, but worth in my opinion because the decor, location, and food =)NeutralStaff was A-OKTip:Order the coconut naan bread which has a sweet texture to compliment with any spicy Vindaloos. I love that combo, and there is very few places that have coconut nann bread.
