Great pool hall and darts--nothing fancy, but always a good time. Much more low key than some of the better known joints like buffalo billiards and the like. Nice draught beer selection as well.

Kokopooli's has some things going for it: a giant, wall-sized projection TV with seating, truly random drink specials (note: the owner will often yell something like, "Special on Absolute Pear shots for the next ten minutes!" from behind the bar) and pool tables. On the other hand: their cues are always without a tip or broken, they have no chalk and the beers are too expensive at $4-5 during non-happy hour. When I first moved to Adams Morgan, Kokopoolis was the only place I knew that had pool tables.  On balance, I would suggest you forget Kokopoolis and head up to Columbia Rd. NW and "Bedrock Billiards" for better tables, cues and clientele.

This place has more of a locals vibe then a "I'm in from the city" vibe last time I was in. The guy at the door had a good laugh with us and the bartenders didn't seem to take any crap which I really enjoy. This place was great for coming after work to shoot some pool and hang out with a few friends. Since we never stuck around when the crowds moved in I can't say how it is at night on a weekend!

I've only been to Kokopooli's once, during a S. Korean World Cup match this past summer. Weekday, around 11am, and the place was completely empy aside from one other viewer who managed to nab the gorgeous big screen, rendering us to the bar television.Bastard. I digress, though. It didn't matter that only 3 patrons were in the bar, the owner (manager? African-American gentleman) was incredibly accomodating and nice. I ordered a few appetizers (buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, etcs), and although not amazing, it was delicious.I'm assuming the place gets rather crowded on weeknights and weekends, well deserved, too.

so i arrived into dc at around 11:30 and wanted to go out but didn't really know the area... went to georgetown area last time it was dead... tried to drive around dupont circle but couldn't find the "night scene" so then we ended up at adam's morgan... sure enough there was a night scene... but we wanted a place that had food and a "scene"... so after walking into a few places we reached the end of the "strip" and then this guy asks us "u guys wanna come in?  there are pool tables!""do yall serve food right now"... guy runs inside and says something to the mgr... then comes back and says of course!and so we were sold... the mgr escorted us in like vip into our own section of the room!  all 4 tables worth!  so the place itself is very very spacious... a section for sitting and eating (thats where we were), a section for booty grinding... that was the section in front of us... and a section for pool... so here's where the fun begins... we didn't have high expectations of this place... all we wanted was chill, not too crowded, but fun place to hang out and eat and maybe shoot some pool!  wow all guaranteed in one night!!  we were never left unattended... owner, doorman, bartender all checked up on us!  they even gave us some free food as we waited for our real food!  ok so granted u do not come here for food as it is nothing to rave about... very small menu (burgers, pasta, fried chicken)... but the service was unbelievable... we could not understand why we were given such vip treatment...  i mean even the drinks that were ridiculously cheap were ridiculously strong!so after eating we wanted to play pool so we told the owner... and he "made it happen"!!! omg it felt surreal... so we played pool for bout another 2 hours til the night basically ended!as for atmosphere, earlier in the night there were maybe 5 girls booty grinding on the dance floor... by 1:30... the place was PACKED!  everyone was looking to "hook up"...  and of course how better to end the night but to witness a girl fight of course... but the owner wow broke it up within like 5 seconds... this tiny lil middle eastern guy handling two black fiesty girls!!  we still dunno why the place gave us such great treatment from the moment we stepped in the door to the moment we said bye to them!  i mean even our bill was super cheap!! 40 bucks for all the above total for 3 of us?!?  anyway our theory is they want to diversify the place as it is predominately one race.  however, everyone is welcomed in this club!  give it a try =)

Any joint that puts the "well" booze on display as "top shelf" is OK in my book.  I'll go here occasionally on a weekday night for a quite place to down a few.  The owner usually tends bar, and he's VERY attentive and a great dude.  He puts all his bottom of the barrel stuff up on the shelves and it always cracks me up.  If you look close you'll realize there are only like 7 different kinds of booze up there, but there are like 10 of each one, so it makes quite the display.  I'll be back occasionally. Thanks!

are you looking for a place to play pool in Adams Morgan which looks as if it has been decorated by a couple of unmotivated highschoolers who wanted to go for an arabian theme but then got fed up half way through and stuck a bunch of number plates on the wall with the odd picture of the dixie chicks and has a dee-jay play the latest cool dance music that all the kids like ?  If so you have found nirvana.

My first time venturing in as it's on the outskirts of the main strip and must take stairs below. It's a very chill place. The area is open with pool table and a living room type set up in the back with couches. I watched a world cup game here and although my country lost, the staff my friendly and engaging.

While browsing the possible destinations for an early Adams Morgan happy hour, Ace G. and I walked by this place towards the end of the main block on 18th St. Considering it was only 6 PM, we decided to give it a try. It was completely empty, but the guy running the place was nice to us, and we enjoyed a game of pool. I'd be interested to see what it is like during busier hours, although it does seem like a place you could go to avoid some of the Adams Morgan insanity since it is kind of hidden.Actually, it was better that no one else was there to see my mediocre pool skills. Plus, it was probably the only time we could play "Like a Prayer" on the jukebox with no worries.

Kokopoolis is sort of easy to miss unless you're looking for it, because it's in a basement. This place is pretty big though, with about 10 or so pool tables set up next to the bar. Whenever I go here, even on the weekends, there is never a huge crowd. It's pretty easy to get drinks and they have hookahs for rent at the bar. When I come here with friends, it's usually after being exhausted by one of the more crowded bars on the block. This place is usually pretty dimly-lit, but there are some couches and chairs to sit on at the back of the bar if you aren't playing pool. If I'm at Kokopoolis, it's usually at the end of the night, before I go to The Diner, hah. The staff here is really nice too!!
