Definite basic grease pit bar fare and basic beers, but I've had more memorable and good times here than at any other place with 3 stars. Must be something in the ventilation system.

This place is horrible...unless you like the crane game.  Why would an effing bar have a crane game anyway?  Trying to win a stuffed animal for your girlfriend, just to get spilled on as she is getting hit on by some meathead?  No thanks.

This bar isn't that bad at all, its kinda the bar you tend to end up at when you cant find your friends at the other bars you were at since this bar is at the beginning/end of the bar strip its a good place to end to grab a taxi right outside.

Adams Mill is usually where my crew starts out our Adams Morgan nights. They play great 80s tunes mixed with Top 40 and its a fun place to go dance and let loose- the crowd is far from pretentious. In my experience, the bartenders are all really great (especially Hank) and I've never had a bad experience here. The crowd is an interesting mix of ages, but I wouldn't say its at all ethnically diverse. I've never seen so much quintessential white guy dancing in my life. Last Saturday they had a woman selling beers outside as soon as you cleared the bouncer. Amazing.

For some reason this is the place I take out-of-towners when they're looking for a casual pub-type bar in the Adam's Morgan area.  Lots of people here so the eye candy is catching and there's plenty of interesting people to meet and talk to.  Not as loud and disgusting as other places of the like in the area.  Be sure to try the second and third floors of this place if you're looking for more elbow room.

A pretty nondescript bar, but I've always had an amazing time dancing to the top 40 tunes. Good vibes at Adam's Mill.

When I lived in Adams Morgan, this was in easy stumbling distance from home.  This place makes me think of swimming pools---yep, it's a real dive.  But man, the beer is cheap and the talk even cheaper.  The patio is great in warm weather.  If you're looking for clean restrooms, go elsewhere;  well, Adams Morgan in general is probably the wrong place to be.  It would be like going to Kansas and asking where's the best surf break.  Drink beer, be happy, do the sidewalk weave walking home.

The downstairs is unappealing on the weekends, unless you like loud, uncomfortable spaces. This bar does have three floors, though, so usually I can escape to higher ground if I end up hanging out here. The only notable thing about Adams Mill is that you can arrange to have your own private party here, even on the weekends. When I did it for one of my friends, we just gave them an approximate number of people and everyone paid $25 to drink all night and eat appetizers. It went on for pretty long, too -- about four hours. We had the top floor reserved, so "unwanted" people couldn't really crash without us noticing. Adams Mill during a private party is exceptional -- otherwise I'd skip it.

I have a special place in my partying heart for this place.  All in all it is a bit of dump.  BUT, I have had some of the best times of the last few years there!  The second and third floors can be reserved for cheap for a private party.  The music is cheesy, but great for a big group of people who like to sing along and rockfist!

My old stomping grounds when I used to live in Adam's Morgan... The place is like a big college meat market at times, but I love the bartenders and they love me. (HA) Make sure to check it out on Sunday afternoons for their crab feasts - AMAZING.

I moved out to DC from CA right after college and was lucky enough to live right around the corner from this place for a couple of months.  I first stopped in to watch Sunday football and got hooked on their tasty 25cent wing deal and cheap domestics during football games (not sure if they still have it going, but if so it is worth it).Weekend nights in Adams Morgan were pretty crazy and for me they always seemed to end at Adams Mill losing my voice to bon jovi songs with friends.  I have some great memories of this place, and probably a few that I have forgotten, but if you are looking for cheap drinks (for DC), a fun crowd, and an evening out in Adams Morgan then head up to Adams Mill, you wont be disappointed.

This place is straight-up fun.  During the week, you can play flip cup here, or at least myself and my kickball colleagues do so.  While this definitely drops the maturity level and makes you feel as though you're in the basement at a college house party, we are all looking for that sometimes!  Because, as my one friend says, college is never over! So yeah, this is a place to come and watch sports or just chill, but not a serious place.  I've heard the food is poor.  It can be super crowded, much like most of the bars on 18th St. in Adams Morgan.  Of course, what makes these bars crowded are those of us that see the empty bars and say "Not enough people!  I'd really prefer not to be able to move!  Let's go there!"  But that's the way it is I guess...

If you're going out for a night in Adams Morgan in the summer, this is a great place to start.  Reminds me of college dive bars, but in a good way, with a laid-back feel, no pretense, and lots of eye candy.  Last time I went, I started off with a long island, and though it cost $10, it was huge and, um... fortified me enough to bear the longer lines at other places without losing a buzz.   The deck is a great place to drink and people-watch if you can find space.   Very good happy hour specials too.

i give this bar 5 stars for a few reasons. first they've helped me throw a fundraiser (with anotherin the works) second i know a bunch of people in adams morgan who are neighborhood patrons there (kinda like cheers i suppose)bartenders have always been pleasant and friendly.. but lets be honest whe its crowded its crowded - they can't sit there and have a conversation with you  - that being said its adams morgan... every place gets packed to the gills on the weekends... you're gonna have to wait in line to get a drink... suck it up. if you want a less crowded bar where you get served within 3 minutes then go to some other part of the city where you aren't shoulder to shoulder with someone.the owner is a nice fella who will help the community and support local activities. (fundraisers and kickball teams) as far as i know he's active in the neighborhood buisnesses as well. which is more than i can say for some of the other establishments who are a bit more stuck up.drinks are more affordable here than most places along the 18th street strip. thats all i gotoh yea i'm willing to put a little extra effort into helping anyone who'll help the community out - not just get rich off of the patrons.. another reason for another star

Sometimes I walk in to the Mill and turn around and walk out.  Other times it keeps me there much longer than anticipated.  With something like three or four floors, there is a lot going on here.  The whole building just looks like it's going to collapse, but that may just be because I walk out with eyes blurry looking at it sideways usually.  They have outdoor seating which can be nice.  During football games I vaguely (as usual) remember them having some sort of all you can eat crab deal.

Good local bar with a dive like atmosphere. My friend knew one of the bartenders so we never had to wait and the drinks were all reasonably priced which is a huge plus in DC. I never ventured beyond the first floor but will definitely check out the other two floors next time. the DJ played a good mix of new and older stuff and was good with requests. My only complaint is that the dance floor is next to the bathrooms so it smelled like toilet the entire night.

Five stars for having the strangest assortment of people I actually knew in DC in the same place at the same time on the same night.  And for convincing me that even if you are from the west coast and freezing your ass off you can go out in DC at 1 AM and have a really good time.Little crowded though.  I suggest that women wear boots.  Men, just remember back to those "courtesy rules" from mosh pits.

Certainly not gourmet cuisine, but I have absolutely zero complaints about any bar where I can grab a Sunday meal drinks for two for just $25, total. My friend I split their Sunday special -- two coney dogs tater tots for $6.95 -- accompanied by two rounds of brew apiece, we each paid about $12. Best sunny Sunday ever, due in part to Adams Mills stellar food deal the really friendly bartender who served it to us on the patio.

OMFG! ADAM'S MORGAN!!!!!!i completely forgot what it was like to go out in adam's morgan because i haven't been back in years, but adam's mill brought it all back!randomest bar EVER! three stories tall. first story = sports bar (lame)second story = dark sports bar wtih dancing (semi-lame)third story = lounge (HOT)as you go up, the venue gets hotter and hotter and the people get hotter and hotter. if you find a hot guy on the first floor, do NOT settle. keep climbing those stairs and your prize will be at the top! ;D strong, strong drinks poured by the hot bartender on the top. do NOT order a double. it will end up being a quadruple!

After my 30 year old friend was told by a Madams Organ bartender that his ID was fake, we ended up coming here for happy hour/dinner, and didn't leave with many complaint other than the stickyness of the bar. So we saw that chicken sliders and tater tots were the special of the night and got two orders, but they unfortunately came with fries instead. Still, they were good and on surprisingly nice rolls. More importantly, many of the beers were available for $10 per pitcher (which made me very confused when a couple guys came in and ordered a $10 pitcher of Miller Lite rather than, say, Longhammer IPA or even just Yeungling). So after a couple of those, we were doing well. As for the bar, they apparently put down "liquid glass" that never set properly and the only solution is to take it off and redo it. With the length of the bar, I can see that as a problem, but MAN does everything stick to it.

Horrible. Two separate 15-20 minute waits at the bar (different spots), and one five minute wait. There is no excuse for that at a bar EVER. I'm not talking about 15 minutes to get to the bar and get my drink, I'm talking about leaning against the wood of the bar for 15 minutes without being served.I know how to make eye contact, and I know how to wave 20s and cards - I've worked behind a bar and I know what works - I never wait more than three minutes at most establishments. I won't go back.(side-note: people were dancing on tables in the back while I was there. Very collegey bar, which I might have liked if I was in the mood for a rowdy night, but I can't ever justify going back)

This is one my of favorite spots in Adam's Morgan.  After getting a FREE (yes, FREE) cab ride to Adam's Mill last night, I was feeling pretty bulletproof.  Got in, found my friends, and ordered a Yuengling from the impressive beer tap selection.  Upstairs, the crowd was a little lighter, and 2 beer pong tables were set up.  I always love bars that offer this bit of college nostalgia! My biggest concern last night occurred when I went to the bathroom.  I walked into the upstairs bathroom after a short wait, and immediately realized... there was no toilet seat on the toilet.  Luckily I noticed right away and saved myself from the inevitable "your boyfriend left the toilet seat up and you unwittingly plunked down and got an unwanted ass-rinse."  But I was a little bit unsettled that a bar would leave their bathroom in such a state!Forgiving the bathroom incident, I always have a great time at Adam's Mill and will of course continue to patronize.

Two and a half stars.  This is the stereotypical Adams Morgan bar that attracts sports teams and loud out of towners and that locals like to complain about.  Its three floors are jammed on weekends and it's bartenders range from friendly to boorish.  It's only redeeming factors:  a nice outdoor seating area and a better than average selection of draft beers at the downstairs bar (a recent visit found Fordham's Queen Ann Kolsch on tap).  If you must go, do so during the week and sit outside.

This is my favorite bar in Adams Morgan.  It reminds of the great Ohio State Bar- Out-R-Inn (oh how I miss mug night!)  Anyway, my favorite points:  - Rather cheap beer- 10 dollar pitchers (for good beer) on occassion- AWESOME burgers- a great outdoor patio on the street (dog friendly)- funny bouncers- cute bartenders - great football on the multiple tv's.  - big long bar with extra seats and hooks for your purseNow, I don't usually come here on a Friday or Saturday night, but I have never found it too crowded and the crowds are always easy-going and there to have a good time.  I have never gone upstairs- I have always enjoyed myself downstairs, but it sounds like fun.BTW, if you are expecting a kohler sink in your bathroom, this isn't your place- so just suck it up and realize that a semi-dive bar joint will have a matching bano.  Thanks Adams Mill!!  You rock!

I usually have a pretty good time here.  It was the first bar I hit while walking down the street when I lived in Adams Morgan.  I really enjoy grabbing beer and sitting outside at one of the picnic tables. It is fun to be out there late at night and watch people stumble down the street. The downstairs can get really crowded on the weekends. The other floors can get really hot as other reviewers have noted.

Adam's Mill is probably one of the more perfectly placed bars in Adams Morgan simply because it sits at the corner of the start of the strip and has plenty of room out front for people to sit outside on picnic benches and people watch. Plenty of beer on tap and in bottles, two pretty spacious floors with everal flip cup tables tell you about the crowd here - WAKA, WAKA, WAKA, that's Kickball to those who are unfamiliar with the sport. Drinks are cheap enough and although it gets pretty packed here, the place is big enough that it's never too crowded and you can generally find a spot to chill comfortably with some friends. I'm rarely here, but when I am, it's usually a decently good time. One thing I can say is that people tend to be in a pretty good mood here, which isn't a characteristic i notice at a lot of bars - people just seem to have a really good time when they are here, which kinda rubs off, I suppose. My recommendation would be to start your night here with a pitcher or cocktail on the patio and then meander down the drunken road that is 18th st. Don't stop till you're either on the roof at Roxanne, singing karaoke down below it, or smokin' some hookah at the very end of the road.

"They've fixed this place up," R said as we took a seat at the bar. "It used to be a real shithole."I glanced around. Not a shithole, but certainly not the swank rides I usually go for. But I'm an openminded gal and they had $10 pitchers of Peroni, so I felt a-okay. The bartenders were nice, the beer selection isn't bad, and they do make a pretty good burger (the only thing about that is each topping [ie, cheese, onions, mushrooms] are a dollar more, each, which I felt a little excessive). The beef was done to a nice medium texture, and the sauteed onions and mushrooms were delicious. Ambiance-wise, it was pretty laid back and unpretentious, with one TV over the bar where we were sitting. As we were leaving, a gang of grownup kickball players was filing in, giving me a better idea of the typical crowd. So, overall, I didn't mind Adam's Mill. The only thing that was shithole about it were the bathrooms. I've seen nicer loos in crack houses.

I use to come here when I was younger.. then kinda faded out of it.I actually went back there this past Friday, and to my lovely surprise the outside cash bar was still there. AWESOME!This is the only place in the AM that I know I can walk into and have a beer in my hands in no more than 25seconds from entering the place.I challenge you to find a place faster than this.  It is not grossly over packed like the other places and you can still talk and meet new interesting people.. or interesting enough depending on how much you have been drinking.Hang out by the door between the patio area and the inside area, you will watch people eat it all night long. It is one measly step but the best drunks always forget it. Makes me smile. My friends and I actually stumbled through it again on Saturday night also, and BAM! Still awesome. Thanks for staying classy Adam's Mill.By classy I mean DRUNK.
