I love going here and chilling out with some friends and a hookah after work or on the weekend- this place has sweet couches all over the place, and has side rooms where you can hide away and smoke with a few friends in semi-private. The hookahs are pretty cheap compared to some overpriced places in WNC, and they have a variety of interesting flavors to choose from. The only complaint I have about this place is that almost every bartender I have ordered from has been extremely rude and completely unfriendly, and this has occurred on numerous occasions. Other than that, Hookah Joe's is great and a fun place to go when you want good atmosphere and some nice shisah.

In it's last location, Hookah Joe's was a place to hide away, chill, and mellowly enjoy your hookah. Now, it's much more of a venue, with the couches all facing each other and the stage. There are cozy, curtained side rooms, though, if you would like to be more intimate. The new place has a much grungier presence than the old, and the new feel and set-up has given rise to some really unusual entertainment (the best of which is a fabulous burlesque show). All-in-all, a good place to be. And the patio, which you may not even discover on your first visit, is large and very nice. Plus, this, along with The Garage, is one of the few places where it is logistically possible to be hooper-friendly. I gave 3 stars instead of 4 because I miss the old spot.

The newer location sucks...the original spot was more like a real Hookah Lounge. The new spot is just another bar that happens to have hookahs. It's also not called Hookah Joe's anymore, it's now "The Hookah Bar". If you are looking for a good Hookah Lounge keep looking because this is not it.
