3 days ago I wrote a review on the gyros I get from Nicks, I stated they were "the best i ever had". Well, slap my butt and call me Mary, cause I am in love with the gyros here. it was juicy and well seasoned, I love the cucumber sauce they put on the gyros here. It tastes so homemade and full of texture. I wish my meat was a little bit more crispy on the edges (like at Nicks) and my wonderful sauce, that I just raved about, was only at the top of my wrap. I wish they would put that on the pita itself and then layer everything on top. I want to taste the sauce in every savory bite. Next time, I'll ask them to make it like that, or I'll get extra on the side. it was a great amount of meat, the tomatoes were sliced big and were very juicy. the person I was with got a falafel, he loved it. But he did have the same problem with his sauce. I have no complaints...well other than what I already mentioned. I will definitely eat here again and again.

I just moved from the bay area (CA) to Atlanta not too long ago and I am sadly realizing that only about 20% of Atlanta restaurants actually have edible food.In light of all the reviews for Ali Baba, I decided to try their gyros. I thought, "OH! Run by Turks! Must be authentic!" To my dismay, what I got was a sad resemblance of a gyro. The meat was NOT freshly shaved off a rotating pole (you would think an "AUTHENTIC Turkish/Greek restaurant would have one of those things), and it had absolutely no flavor...  I asked for extra feta and zazki and did NOT get either... I got some kind of shredded cheese that looked and tasted more like crumbled jack or mozzarella and a weird tasteless yogurt sauce that was NOTHING like zaziki. Furthermore, the pita bread that they wrapped my crap-lump-of-nothing-with-cream up in was not even grilled or baked or anything..  they could have tried grilling it a bit for 30 seconds to give it some texture...  and if i was lucky, they could burn the pita to give the gyro some flavor... but if they didnt even grill their meat, they were definitely not going to grill their crap pita bread.... my crap-gyro was soggy by the time I got back to  my desk to eat it... and i couldnt even finish it because each bite brought me closer to disappointment over the wrap of crap that bought for $9 that tasted like nothing. I would have been happier eating the foil. Surprisingly enough, I had a really good gyro at The Flat Iron in East Atlanta. And their onion rings are awesome.... go there and spend just about the same amount of money (less than $10) for something you can ACTUALLY ENJOY. What a shame....

I've never reviewed a restaurant before, but this one was so good that I decided to start. I was so glad to finally find a place in Atlanta where i could get decent Mediterranean food at  cheap prices. There chicken gyro is excellent and the sauce is great as well. It is also a good choice if you need to grab something quick. But if you want, there is an adjacent patio where you can lounge with your friends and smoke hookah. For $10, they set it up and provide you the tobacco.An A+.

Today at work I was doing my usual thing, reading Yelp boards, and Twittering with the Twelpers when I suddenly got a wild hair- I think I want to eat something new today!Well, let's see, I've eaten at every vegan accommodating place in the 'hood, but wait, what about that Ali Baba place?   I hit up Yelp, looked at reviews, hmm, not bad, sounds promising.Just to be sure I was doing the right thing, I stuck a feeler out on Twitter with my proposal of possibly going outside my comfort zone.  Jeff G. immediately posted that I need to go there, and attached a picture of his last vegan meal there, SOLD!I made sure to read the reviews and menu (I had heard the guy who works there is, umm a little gruff) and armed with knowledge skipped on down the street.The guy (who did look at me like if I don't order right he will boot me out) asked for my order and I said falafel- with tahini.   He turned around, and eyeing me carefully, asked me if I was vegan.  I muttered yes, and began to worry- until I looked right in front of me and saw vegan samosas in the display case, whew!   Guy is odd but down with my needs!I scurried back to my store and opened up my to go box, looks yummy, but what's this red juice?  Hot sauce on a falafel?  Is this normal?  And if so, how have I never  had this yummy combination before?  Needless to say I am stuffed and satisfied.  For about $7 you definitely get what you paid for, and more, I still have half of my falafel left.  Next time I am definitely getting a vegan samosa!Went here for the first time during the Little Five Points Halloween parade on Saturday, and it was really good.  The guy serving the gyro itself was a little gruff and intimidating, but he put together a bangin' gyro. Oh, and say it with me: Yee-row.  It is NOT a Jy-row. Anyway, the only thing I found odd about the gyro was the red sauce, but given all of my expertise regarding Mediterranean food (read: none), that could actually be authentic.  My instincts say no, though. It was definitely tasty, just different from what I'm used to.The tabouli salad was great, even though it didn't have any cous cous.  Just cukes, maters, parsley, feta (YAY!) and a vinaigrette. Then the very friendly cashier directed us to the "patio" (surrounded by plastic because of the unseasonably cold, windy day) so we could catch glimpses of the freak show outside whilst sitting down to eat our grub like civilized beings. It cost around $9 for the gyro, side, and drink, so it's a LITTLE pricier than I would normally go for at lunchtime, but it's definitely good.  Much better than the gyro I had at Athens Pizza Kouzzina in Duluth the day before. MUCH."Open, Sesame!"... Is what I say when I come here or when I'm at your mom's house. This little mom pop out house with a hookah patio on da side, dishes out some decent tasting grub... Even collegiate baseball players can afford to eat here. You got all your standard Medi-favorites, they're not gonna make you wet your pants with authentic spices and flavors but the girthy shaft of pressed man meat snuggled inside the Autodoner made me did.    Lookie here, you can't go wrong with the Gyro here. Lightly toasted pita filled with shaved lamb/beef meat and a little veggie filler. It was a nice balance of meat and ruffage but coulda use some more tzatziki. The flavors didn't make me blow my wad and neither did the price. A combo with a dwink and side runs you about $8... My side of hummus and a couple scraps of cut up pita was passable in a hippie kinda way. Keep your guard up... The 40 thieving hobos around these here parts won't think twice about Bogarting your meaty booty and leave you with an empty pouch on the curb holding your dick in the wind. Close, Sesame! Zippp.

I heard great things about this place and perhaps, it that rose my expectations too high, but I didn't find the food to be as good as the reviews.  The food was good, but not exceptional.  Reasonably priced, which is always a plus.  Overall a fair bet!

I am from Greece so i love gyros I was so excited cus of friends recommended a lot then what a disappointing was ordering my food but what a dushback :Damn the guy called himself owner fayz whatever , giving samples me and my girlfriend with his hands without gloves. it was my first failure, discusting. I am so carefull with hygiene. i dont know if the owner is like this i dont wanna think about the people who works there. then I ordered gyros it wasnt bad. i enjoyed my meal with my girlfriend. then the guy owner bought us Turkish coffee and baklava. then he stand in front of us keep talking..I mean it was my second failure. its Sunday morning i just went out to have meal with my girl. so dont bother us. these people are weird so i can say gyros are good but order take out. i dont like ambiance in the rest.... Food is ok not great.The Mediterranean Mcdonalds!Really good food, quick service, and affordable!I don't mind eating here every lunch time! In fact, I have three more meals before I get the freebie from my loyalty card!

Even collegiate baseball players can afford to eat here. You got all your standard Medi-favorites, they're not gonna make you wet your pants with authentic spices and flavors but the girthy shaft of pressed man meat snuggled inside the Autodoner made me did.    Lookie here, you can't go wrong with the Gyro here. Lightly toasted pita filled with shaved lamb/beef meat and a little veggie filler. It was a nice balance of meat and ruffage but coulda use some more tzatziki.
