Great lunch buffet, a good mix of both Cedar's and Ray's menu.  Very good value.  I like the pizza here, good crust!

I just want to rant about the service there. Like all of the others have stated, the service is absolutely TERRIBLE. A friend and I walked over there for lunch around 1:15p. We had to wait 20min to be seated and noticed they had couples sitting at tables for 6 and 1 guy had a table for 4 all to him self. After being seated, the waitress placed the menus on the table and walked away (didn't even take our drink order). 15-20min later another waiter came by after cleaning the table next to us, with the rag he used thrown across his shoulder (what is this "Alice" and Mel's Diner?!). He took both drink and our lunch order and he wasn't seen for the rest of the day. 10min later the waitress who sat us at the table ran up stairs apologizing and NOW ready to take our order. We advised her that the order had been taken and we didn't appreciate her slow service. She returned shortly with 5 drinks in her arms. No, not on a tray but clutching them to her chest and asked that we reach in and grab our drinks from her arms because she was delivering the others to another table. I told her to deliver those 1st and bring ours back by when she was done. I guess we pissed her off because it took 40min for one chicken calzone and a slice of pepperoni to hit the table. We wanted to leave but because we walked there and our lunch options and time was limited, we stayed (plus they had the NCAA tourney on the TVs). THE FOOD WAS GOOD, let me be clear on that but the service...YUK! No one ever came back to the table to check on us, I finished my soda before the food came, so I had to chew on ice with my meal. After eating, we waited for someone to bring us our bill, but it didn't happen. After 10min, we guessed at the price, left $15 on the table and walked out. The person I was with, wrote on the $5 bill with a sharpie "Your Service Stinks!!"I recommend this place to NO ONE!

I like Ray's.  A lot.As Lori said, the lunch buffet is an exceptional deal.  If you're near technology square for lunch, you should try Ray's.  You won't be sorry.Update:  Just went back here, and the service has gotten really, really crappy.  We never had a waiter.  The foods good, but not that good.

Ray's doesn't just offer up pizza.  They have a whole slew of Greek delicacies that go beyond that:  grape leaves, hummus, tabouleh, gyros and more. The $7.99 buffet at lunch is a steal.  They offer lentil soup, greek salads, grape leaves, hummus, tabouleh, fruit, pizzas, chicken, meatballs, and more.

Great place! Great food and the pizza is as close to NY-quality as it gets. (This coming from a recent NYC transplant) The regular entrees are also deeelish, my favorite being chicken kabob with pilaf. The chicken is incredibly tender, yet possess that perfect grilled flavor. They serve grilled veggies that have perfect grill marks on them without compromising texture nor flavor. The pilaf is out of this world and they sure do give you a great helping. Portions are more than fair for their prices. I ate there maybe twice and they do have pretty crummy service so don't go there if you get cranky when hungry... like me. I have ordered delivery numerous times and although it takes for-ev-errrrrr I still come crawling back for more.

greasy standard fare. but I really like the crust even though it wasn't even crispy.  They were nice enough to even make a pizza sans the tomato sauce. They did add a delivery fee they didn't tell me about. still. it was okay.

I'm actually glad I stumbled upon this place.  Last night, Sunday night, I was feeling pretty lazy, and there was a House marathon on...  so I decided to order delivery for dinner.  Ray's was actually one of the few places that was still open at 9pm and would deliver as far as Atlantic Station.  In fact, they were actually open to 11 on Sunday.  That makes me happy.  I actually don't remember how long it took since I was wrapped up in an episode of house, but it didn't seem like it was terribly long...      I was pleased with the food.  Plenty of variety on the menu;  pizza, Mediterranean favorites, salads, sandwiches.  I decided to order the coolest thing I saw, being the gyro pizza.  Yeah, pizza with gyro meat on top.  I really wish more places did that.  Also got some garlic knots as they seem to be a crowd favorite.  I thought both were delicious.  I mean, I expect no less from something topped with feta cheese and gyro meat, but it did live up to expectations.       The garlic knots were also awesome.  Little balls of dough covered with garlic butter... or some garlicy lipid..  Either way, I loved the deliciously doughy the center and the dipping marinara was actually good, which is usually not the case, I find.     So I'll probably never actually go to the place, but there's my 4 stars for the delivery.

NY pizza?  This isn't even Atlanta pizza.Liars they will be and there is nothing else to say because if you can't even compete with Atlanta pizza joints, you have a problem on your hands.Really....1.5 stars, which I have no description for...from the NY Pizza Guy.

Does 'split personality' mean anything to you? In the case of Ray's/Cedars, it means you get the best of two worlds - pizza and Mediterranean.  Not sure where the Ray's/Cedars concept spawned from (mascot is a smiling piece of pizza holding a gyro and a kabob) but whoever thought of this madness is a smart one. Jinny K and I went here - me being a first timer - and after eating, I was ahhhmaazed.  They also have hookahs, but only until a certain time.I got the vegetarian platter, which I'll probably be thinking about for the rest of the week. Good. Good. Stuff. it had fried eggplant/cauliflower, hummus, tabouleh, and falafel, which are a few of my favorite things.Just try to keep me away from this place.

This Ray's gets 2 stars, because while I do think the food is decent, the service is abhorrent. It is just so ridiculously slow. It might be ok if you are a college student or its a weekend and you have a few hours to sit around, drink beer and eat some pizza, but I have NEVER been able to get in and out within an hour for a weekday lunch.  I tend to stay away from buffets as a general rule, but I think it might be the only way to go at this Ray's

Reading the reviews posted on Ray's, I am quite intrigued. I mostly get delivery - if you live near their Sandy Springs or Midtown locations you're in luck, because they'll bring it to you- so I haven't had to deal with service issues; I've also found them to be super-helpful with large to-go orders for work events.I love the large selection of pizza toppings and I think the pizza/sauce/cheese ratio is both well-rationed and tasty; plus, I like the crust. These are my major tests for good pizza. Also, the salads are good and the garlic knots are awesome. Delivery and to-go pick up times are typically under what they quote you and the prices are very reasonable.

This Midtown NY-style pizza place has some pretty damn good pizza.  Most of the customers are Tech students but you won't feel too out of place.  There's a few tables outside and the area the place is in you can safely sit out there without fearing that one of ATL's famous bums will snatch a slice from your plate and run off hysterically. The service has never disappointed, the pizza comes out nice and piping hot.  Never went there to drink but their bar looks like it's pleasantly stocked.

Gross.  I had the grilled veggie wrap and with my luck, I got a handful of onions.  I asked for hummus instead of fries, and of course, I got fries.  The waitress was in la la land which caused my lunch neighbor to yell at her superior.  Sucks to be her. The buffet was dimly lit and the food was not heated properly-screams salmonella!  I had a horrible experience during lunch time, never again.

This place is amazing!! I've been going to this place since it first opened back in 1996 at the old buckhead location. This is by far the best NY style pizza in the Atlanta area. The grilled Greek salad is awesome, the chicken is so plump and juicy its like they just cooked it. I like the midtown location cause they offer Mediterranean food, I mean who doesn't like a restaurant that serves amazing pizza with stuffed grape leaves and tabbouleh salad, ugghhhh my stomach is growling just writing this review. nough said

One of my go-to places to meet friends for lunch during the week.  Ray's is conveniently located and (in my experience) relatively quick at getting your food to you and getting you on your way, but then I generally only go there with people I don't mind talking to for a reasonable amount of time just in case it takes longer!  I particularly enjoy that you can choose between a dish, pizza by the slice, or the buffet.  If you go I recommend you try a slice of the baselico - I order it almost every time, and I still love it!  I've also enjoyed the falafel and hummus a time or two.  Definitely closer to four stars than to three, but still somewhere in the middle...

ATMOSPHERE: Really busy at dinner time bustling with Ga Tech kids. Upstairs seating but not available due to a private party. FOOD:  Huge serving sizes!!1. Veggie platter - worst falafel ever!!!! I cannot pinpoint the seasoning but it has a SWEET flavor. Yuck. Hummus and tabouleh was good. 2. Fatoush salad - tomato, cucumber with pomegranate vinaigrette and fried pita chips that acted as croutons basically. Fried pita chips didn't add much to the dish besides consistency. This was the 1st time I had this salad and I'm not really a fan of this salad. Maybe because it was served slightly warm and not chilled as I expected it to be. SERVICE: Slow but they were pretty busy. Food not really to my liking....but maybe their pizza is better?

I've eaten here probably 50 times (I live across the street). It's decent, the food is rather inconsistent and the service is hit or miss. My advice: stick to the pizza, or wings. The other entree's are horrific (especially the tabouleh). Every time I've ordered a non-pizza dish I end up not even finishing it. Unless you like mediterranean food made without care, or skill--stick with the pizza, or wings.

This place rates highly in my book.  I've been there twice.  The first time we ordered a pizza (meat and veggie supreme type I believe) and it was really good.  The crust is some of the best I have ever had and I do not always like pizza crust but this dough is just so good.  Tonight we went again and I ordered their calzone after seeing other tables get it last time.  Again the dough is to die for, the filling was great and the side of marinara sauce was good.  I will go back.   Not fancy but the food is good and it has a nice college atmosphere there.

I attended a relatively diverse university in an urban area, and one of the things I loved about college was the proliferation of cheap but delicious restaurants of all cuisines catering to the broke student population.  I work near Ray's and gave it a try, hoping that its proximity to GA Tech meant that Ray's would deliver the same cheap+delicious formula.I ordered the mediterranean sampler (to go - so I can't comment much on the ambience, although I can say it's definitely casual).  The sampler comes with hummus, baba ghanouj, tabbouleh, two pieces of falafel, several pita slices, and sides of tahini, pickles, banana pepper, and lemon wedge.  At $7.50, it's not a bad deal - it's definitely a LOT of food.  So Ray's gets a point for cheap(ish) food.I'm sorry to say Ray's didn't fare as well on the delicious half of the formula.  The tabbouleh was actually pretty good - heavy on the parsley, which is how I like it.  The hummus and baba ghanouj were pretty standard - not bad, but nothing distinctive that you couldn't get in a grocery store.  The falafel were, well, weird - WAY too cinnamon-y.  And my other complaint was that the tahini was pure liquid - what are you supposed to do with that?  Anything you put it on it just drips off of.  I prefer tahini to be thicker, so you can actually scoop it with pita or falafel (but I have yet to find a place in Atlanta that makes tahini how I like it, so in all fairness I can't hold it against Ray's any more than any other place).I might give Ray's 2.5 stars, but it doesn't meet my 3-star bar of a place I would come back to with no reservations.  For me, 2 stars means that I would go back but only under special circumstances (only place open, someone else really wants to go, etc.).  Given all of the other choices in this area, I don't think I'll be going back to Ray's any time soon.

It's never a good thing when you have trouble remembering a place a couple of days after eating there. But that's just the case with Ray's (aka Cedars).I was in the area on business and my client suggested stopping in for a bite. I opted for the buffet because it's what he was doing and it just made things easy.In theory, a mix of Mediterranean dishes--and pizza--would be right up my alley. But as I moved down the mostly Mediterranean part of the buffet, very little looked appetizing. In fact, none of it did. Shoved in a dark corner of the room, a lack of light didn't do any of these dishes any favors. And based on what my client said, they tasted about as good as they looked.Having skipped that half of the buffet, I ended up grabbing a couple of slices of pizza, a spinach pie and some kafta (meatballs). Well, the pizza was flaccid and no better than frozen, the spanakopita was just a dinner roll stuffed with feta and the meatballs were overcooked (but they did have some decent flavor). What puzzled me most about this place is that I've eaten at two other Ray's over the years and the quality of the food has been pretty good. The pizza and calzones were about on par with Fellini's. So I'm not sure why the pie here was so blah. You'd think they'd be using the same recipes and ingredients as everyone else. Anyway, while I'm sure quantity wins out over quality with the Georgia Tech crowd, it didn't win me over. Neither did the price. For the $12.41 the buffet cost me, I could've had a better meal at any of the nearby restaurants. And probably will the next time I'm down here.

So I know two kinds of Ray's pizza: the time or two I've stopped in for lunch or dinner, and the time or two that we've ordered delivery. Delivery: we almost always get the delicious greek pizza - feta and gyro meat included. Outstanding.Eating in, it's kinda eh. Got a wrap (mine was dry) but they did have an interesting looking buffet. Turns out a lot of things were interesting but also dry.A nice topping, pizza, menu and beer selection gives them a good handful of stars here but I don't see myself with anymore without that delivery. Also whats up with that silly logo?? (also: why is it so common for the cartoon logo advocating the eating of any given food product to be the animal/product itself???! )
