The Place is still operating and Nadia is still there! She's so nice and friendly and has an adorable daughter who , when I was there was training to do the register , and she was in 6th grade.hahhaha.. Nadia's Gyro lamb, was very yummy and you can taste all the herbs, it's not bland at all. A diet coke and a gyro ran for 8.00 ( alittle steep), and the baklava was very delicious ran for 1.59, it was a bit small- this is after I was trying to choose the largest piece! hahah..but it was definitely rich, with all the nuts and spices plus butter ,  to make it worth the money. Nadia and her daughter were both very genuine and friendly and chattered up a storm.  I think Nadia was a bit amused  that I knew my Middle Eastern food.  The place was conveniently located right next to the DMV office, so after I got  a Georgia License I went to feed my sadness, Now I have no proof that I once lived in the West Coast...

Found this place quite by accident last week. Great little place, could do better in options and delivery of food, the best I have had funny enough were the shwarmas in Amsterdamn, not so large, not so stuffed and lots of garllc sauce, or maybe the ones in London, pickled red cabbage, oniions, tomato, chillies and chillie sauce.... yeah baby. Bottom line I will be back and I would say it is worth a try with meat and veggie selections, Persian to American  there is something for everyone.

I've known about this place for like 5 years but somehow never tried it.  Everything about it is so authentic and charming, even in the location it's at.  The owner (I think she was), was so outgoing, helpful and patient...she even gave a couple free dolma to my boyfriend after he said he had never tried them.  Everything was delicious and I'm sure the best you can get in metro Atlanta.  Can't wait to go back!

My first encounter with the wonderful food served at Basil Wraps was at an International Student Festival at Kennesaw State University.  One of the gathering rooms in the Student Center was filled with tables of food prepared by the students from various countries around the world - included amongst them was a table with glorious Middle Eastern specialities, provided (for FREE!) by Basil Wraps restaurant.  I picked up one of their business cards whilst scarfing down some vegetarian Dolmatos, Hummus, Falafel and Jerusalem salad, making a mental note to find the place and get more of their food.Basil Wraps is not easy to find, especially if all you have is an address (I realized later that I should have called - they welcome advance phone calls for fast pickup) - it's in an old shopping center on Canton Rd at the intersection of Canton and Piedmont (Piedmont turns into Barrett Pkwy heading west), not far from 575 and 75 (not a hip intown location, decidedly, but for those of us finding ourselves living cheaper just outside the Perimeter, it's nice to have an authentic Middle Eastern restaurant near home and/or work). In the same shopping center is a Driver's License Office (as stated on Basil Wraps' takeout menu) and what appears to be a driving school, but tucked in on the short end of the "L" shape is a little storefront and a few tables on the sidewalk just outside the restaurant.  Since I wasted time driving around Canton Rd trying to find the place, I was happy to be inside, and welcomed heartily by the Palestinian woman who owns the restaurant, Nadia.Nadia was all alone that day, cleaning tables, cooking food, and at lunch, not a customer was in sight.  I had her all to myself, and she became my new best friend, offering me up vegetarian specialties, working with me to provide a combination not quite on the menu, but that would satisfy my cravings. The price for the Jerusalem salad I'd tried at KSU and loved so much (basically a Tabouli without the grain - "chopped parsley, diced tomatoes, diced onions, dressed with spices, lemon juice and olive oil") was a bit steep: $4.99 for a small bowl, but Nadia sold me an even smaller bowl.  There is a regular "Mixed Plate" of 4 Falafel Patties, Hummus, Baba Ghanoush and Warm Pita, for $6.49, but I think we worked around my dislike of the Ghanoush, instead taking away some Dolmatas (Middle Eastern cousins to the Greek Dolmas, or Dolmades). After chatting with Nadia while she cooked my Falafel, heated my Pita bread, and prepared everything for me in containers to take back to work for lunch, and finding out she's only been in that location for a year, and is already looking to move (go for some food soon, and call ahead to make sure she's still there!), I felt all warm and happy for making the drive to find her, and came back to my office to eat, making my "Mmmmmmm..." and happy humming sounds all the while.  I have since put together my own version of her Jerusalem salad at home (not too hard to make), but I will definitely be going back soon (assuming she's still there!) to get more lunch (they are open for dinner too though - hours 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.), and hopefully I can drag some coworkers with me.  Either before or after you visit the restaurant, pay a visit to the Basil Wraps web site to see pictures of the food (plenty of Kababs, Lamb Beef Chicken, Gyros, etc. for you meat lovers - as the site proclaims: "Mediterranean American Food" "Vegetarians Friendly Menu" "Eat In or Take Out") and pictures of plenty of customers enjoying the food (yes, there is a photo gallery of people with happy stomachs).  In my own perusal of their site to aid in writing this review, I noticed it appears in the photos that they may sell hookahs too - so there's that.

I am a long time, big fan of delicious middle eastern cuisine, and I am actually a bit irritated with myself for not trying this place earlier! What a delightful little restaurant! It is very small and unassuming, but the food is wonderful and the owners are absolutely the most friendly restauranteurs I have come across in a while. I felt as if I was being welcomed into their home.I ordered the falafel wrap and a side of dolmas. The falafel was very savory with a little kick of spicey...but not too much. It was served on a soft wrap bread with hummus and jerusalam salad. The salad was unbelievably fresh and delicious. I could taste the fresh chopped parsley and a hint of fresh garlic...wonderful.  The dolmas was so yummy and easy to eat...not messy and falling apart, just right.  My husband and I wanted to share the dolmas, which comes 5 in an order,  so she included a free one so we could each have three. She also gave a sample falafel while we waited, and had lollipops in a jug under the counter for the kids.  The customer service was tops, the food was very tasty and also very reasonably priced...5.49 for the wrap...a steal! My husband had the Gyro wrap and said it was very good...and is wanting to return! (He is a hard sell on anything, so a "meh" from him is a high rating!!) Basil Wraps is a little treasure of middle eastern magic amidst the drive- thrus and buffets that line Canton Road. There is no doubt this is one of my new favorite local spots.

After reading several good reviews about Basil Wraps, we decided to try it out...my wife was at the mall and on her way home, stopped in there to bring some food home for dinner...she brought 2 Beef Schawarma wraps, 2 Falafel wraps and a Lamb schawarma wrap...all really good and fairly good sized...one was enough for me, and I've got a good appetite. Seasoned french fries, pretty good...probably would have been better if we'd eaten there as everything was starting to cool off by the time she got the food home, but still really good...she brought a few Baklava (chocolate covered) home as well...not your typical Greek type with honey nuts dripping, but good nonetheless...she spent $47, which seemed like ALOT to me, but we've still got a big lunch for today so I guess it wasn't too bad...the food is good!!! Will go again and eat-in, and will update this review!!!

Basil Wraps is really a great find in Marietta.  I decided to check this place out based on the positive reviews.  I have recently started searching good falafel close to home.  I was immediately greeted with a smile by the lady at the register.  Nadia was in the back preparing the food for others.  I ordered the Falafel Wrap and was given the choice of Spicy or Not Spicy.  The Wrap comes includes Felafel with Jerusalem Salad and tahina inside.  The Spicy was absolutely delicious.  There was just more flavor  and seasoning then anywhere else I have tried. Now for the special part-I realized I couldn't find my wallet later in the night.  The last place I knew I had  it was at the resaurant.  After calling my date to explain my wallet was missing ..and I would likely be late and without money (Not  very smooth for a first date), I called Basil Wraps.  Nadia answered, took my name, and offered to stop by in the morning to the Driver's License Office next door to see if someone brought it there.  The food here is excellent and it has a real family atmosphere.  I appreciate Nadia's kindness and will return.I found the wallet in time  for the date.
