Casbah

Such a great indoor atmosphere and patio to boot, Casbah is a great, quirky hookah bar and restaurant located in a busy neighborhood of Jacksonville. Hookah options out the wazoo, an AWESOME selection of vegetarian dishes (I had eggplant and a cheese and veggie plate), not to mention meat dishes, and good wine options. My friend and I made buddies with a lot of the staff there - they are very knowledgeable on the area and its amenities. Hard to find such a casual but stylish surroundings elsewhere.

The Casbah's best asset is how freaking cool you feel whilst lounging on pillows, smoking a hookah. The lighting and decor is great on its own, but if the food was not good, too, it would not be nearly as fun. There are a variety of excellent vegetarian options, and the appetizers are great. The hookahs are superb, and the combination of flavored tobacco and a non-water base (like, I recall apple juice being an option with honey-flavored tobacco) is a great twist. I don't know if there IS another hookah bar in Jacksonville, but if there is, this one is still the best.
