Off The Hookah Reviews
For a great time by Off the Hookah
One of my favorite places to go for so many reasons. From the great food to the awesome DJ's I can't stop talking about this place. This was the place that introduced me to smoking hookah. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful in both hookahs and the alcohol that was offered. I also liked the fact that i could either get a table and be waited on or stay at the bar. I would definitely recommend Off the Hookah!!

I went to Off the Hookah in fort laudy and when I got my Hookah menu I though they had brought me a wine selection.... lol, they literally had two full pages of different types of Hookah flavors, keep in mind im a big hookah smoker to the point that I have one at my house, so when I hear all these flavors like blue mist and skittles my brain starts to go on a frenzy!!!! Either way, the waitress recommended the flavor Blue Mist and let me know it was one of the more popular favorite flavors...Cant lie, it was great!!! If your an advocate Hookah smoker-try this place out!
I make the Good times happen... by Sasha Simmz
I went out there by myself, I just needed to get the out of the house. I had to pay 5bucks to get in which wasnt that bad, i mean it was a saturday after all. I bought myself a mixed drink for 6dollars which wasnt bad, normal price of a drink so I was happy about that. I quickly made friends with this young couple who was about my age and they allowed me to smoke from there Hookah which was pretty cool. I made new friends, didnt spend a ton of money an had a great time. Life is good :)

I have to say that I was very suprised that I actually enjoyed the place. I am not one for smoking a hookah. But low and behold I hated to pass it. We had so many different flavors I couldn't tell you which was my fav. As for the food..... I have been back 3 times since the beginning of the year.

love this place! by amanda
Last year my holiday party was held at Off The Hookah and I had a great time. We had really authentic egyption food and really great drinks. The DJ was really good and the belly dancers and flair bartender show was awesome. My boss picked the perfect place for our holiday party, I hope he does it there again this year =)

An aquired taste =) by Natalie B.
I have to say the place was really nice. I would be sure to call ahead of time because each night has a different event going on which actually offers variety. Personally I like Tuesday nights its kinda intimate with some old school music and a lot of ITB people.
Absolutely Love OFF THE HOOKAH!!! by Nicole
I love this place. I Haven't been here in a long time and they have completely remodled the place and it is beautiful! The service was excellent, the show was entertaining and the food was delicious. I am definetly planning a party there soon, or maybe i'll try the West Palm Beach location.

If I could give no stars I would have. No stars. Yes, no stars. Zero, zilch, nada, niete, none. In case you haven't seen my dear friend Mike T's review, let me reiterate his point by saying that it hurt me. Deeply. I was deeply hurt when I left this astounding establishment they dare call a hookah bar. I felt like I was stuck in a time warp in the depths of hick-college-hell. Note to reader: I went to a college in the middle of upstate New York nowhere and am therefore familiar with said bars. The entire area surrounding and the crowds that frequent this bar sucks, in my humble opinion. The dj either left his music at home or only had one cd single with some "Happy Birthday" song (techno remixed version of course) that kept playing over and over again. The hookahs weren't particularly tasty nor were the bevvies. The crowd was gag-worthy and I'd sooner get tazered than go back to that place or anything like it ever again. However, in the interest of not trashing Fort Lauderdale, the other portion of Las Olas (sp?) was much much better. Pls see my review of The Grape as reference.

went on a sunday night w/ my girlfriend for dinner. live music outside was great-a guy playing guitar and other instruments. food was good-not a lot for the price but you pay for atmosphere.

the place is pretty nice huge space and cool bar right outside of the place overlooking the water. the bouncer was kind of a jerk staring my ID down like its the first one hes ever seen. a good selection of tobaccos and just a pretty cool vibe. wouldnt say i hate it and wouldnt say i love it. its a good start for bar hopping around riverfront.
by victoria r.
Not horrible, not great. If it wasn't located in Riverfront it wouldn't be as bad to me. Ghetto crowd. Music went from good to bad in the matter of minutes. Decor... ehh. Service was good and food was quick. For about 5 Hookahs, 1 bottle of Black Label (and 15 bottles of Monster), and 12 dishes came out to about $900. Not bad for everything we got... but alot for where we were. One of the few places you can order food, smoke Hookah, and dance/drink til 3am. My friend recommended Posh (another Hookah bar in ft. laud) so I will have to go try that out next.

Oh my. Flash back to Spring Break 2001.If you're under 21, you pay $10 to get in.If you're over 21, you get in free with a pretty red bracelet that allows you to order drinks. The crowd: very guido-esque. Bellydancers, fire breathers and hookahs abound. If they played the ridiculous happy birthday song one more time (I think when we left, we'd heard it 12 times), I would have smashed someone's head in.Aside from a few choice moments dancing (to music I was not familiar with), and some entertaining fire breathing and belly dancing, I will NOT be returning.

I was in Ft. Lauderdale for 3 weeks. I am an advit fan of smoking hookah so I really liked this place. We made really good friends there with the server and on Friday nights its free drinks. I really enjoyed hitting this place up after a night out in downtown. hey have a really good atmosphere. The music isn't incredibly great and they do not have a wide selection of food. Then again. . . I just want to smoke when I go.

Went here a couple of weeks ago to shoot some photos. Overall I was impressed with the look. It was a lot bigger than I thought and plenty of room to get lost. There are three main bar areas and the bartending staff is above average. The drinks were a bit expensive that night for me. I ordered a gin and tonic and it came in a small plastic cup for $8. There is also an outside dining area that is a nice place to chill. There is no smoking (your own cigarettes) inside. Only hookahs. If you want cigs you need to step outside. If you're looking for a chill night I'd recommend Off The Hookah. Most of the crowd seemed pretty laid back and into their own thing.

I'm not into Hookah's but this place is kinda cool. This was my starting point for a while with early drink specials and a belly dancer in a cool atmosphere. It kinda gives an "I Dream of Genie" feel but with food, booze and live entertainment. I only gave it 3 stars because it is a hit or miss place. I've been here and it was GREAT and then I've been here and the line around the corner with bad music playing chased me off. It's close to many other bars so if in the area I'd recommend at least a walk by.

It's a nice spot for Fort Lauderdale. I went with my man, and we had an OK time. The staff was friendly, and the crowd that night was cool (not ghetto like some reviewed). But, it might depend on the night. The decor is sorta sexy...painted red, with sofas and drapes. If you're into hookahs you will love the assortment of flavors. If you're in the area, you might wanna stop in. But don't go out of your way. It's located on Riverwalk, so even if you go and don't like it, there is plenty more to do.

So I was in Ft. Lauderdale for the weekend, and headed to Las Olas Riverfront Friday night for some dinner, and drinks with the boyfriend and his friends, prior to bar-hopping. Well his friends actually picked this place, and I was pleasantly surprised, b/c I wasn't quite sure what to expect. They charge a cover to get in if you're under 21, which I thought was kind of whack, considering we were just coming for DINNER, but whatever. So then we get in and their is an awesome belly dancer shaking what her momma gave her....LoL! The boys got a hookah, which was good, and we had our share of drinks and food. It was very chill and relaxed atmosphere, a great way to start off the night.I really liked the decor as well, it was sexy/sultry perfect for a date or a night out with friends. They have these huge beds which you can sit on while you eat/drink as well, which I thought was pretty cool. It was a good choice, and their are plenty of other restaurants in the area too.

On Ladies Night (Thursday), this place is definitely 'Off the Hookah!' No cover for ladies, and drinks are free all night. Albeit, drinks in a small clear plastic Dixie cup, but free is free is free is free. Being an OC native, I don't think I could actually give this place a rating lower than 4 stars. I've nothing to compare it to due to it's huge space and fancy Mediterranean-influenced interior. Oh and the cheap hookah and Ladies Night special(s). The music here is not bad, and it's more of a place to just lounge around. Perhaps dance if you've managed a handful of trips to the bar with your plastic cup.

A great place to chill and enjoy a sexy/sultry evening in Fort Lauderdale -- perfect for a date or a night out with friends. Off the Hookah features terrific middle eastern cuisine staples (i.e., the mediterranean sampler appetizer was terrific, as was the kofta kebab and shish kebab) definitely made to be shared. While the restaurant has an extensive sushi menu, Mediterranean seemed a more appropriate choice for the atmosphere. The night I was there, we had excellent service, a phenomenal view of the New River, great scenery, and appropriately upbeat music (XM Radio BPM station just seemed to fit the mood). It's not cheap by local standards (dinner for two, including a shared appetizer and a drink apiece, was about $70, including tip), but it's worth it.

If it's a Thursday night I definitely recommend this place. Ladies drink free all night so the place is poppin! I paid 5 bucks to get in and there was no wait at all. The place was packed and loud music is heard everywhere. You can still talk to people without yelling and screaming like at some other places so it still has a lounge vibe to it. There are a couple of projector screens that show the videos to the songs that are playing. They play everything from Top 40 to old school hip-hop and reggae. As you work your way around the bar there is a lounge area where people are setup smoking their hookahs. You're met by a center stage that separates the lounge from the restaurant side. There are usually a couple of girls belly dancing to the ethnic music when the DJ isn't playing his set and they put on a good show. There is a small dance floor but everyone is just dancing wherever they're standing. The bartenders are always up to recommending a hookah flavor and they've always been good. The drinks and hookahs aren't that expensive so you don't have to worry about breaking the bank. The drinks are a little small which is my only complaint (that's what flasks are for right?) . You can smoke your hookah at the bar if you want to dance or sit down in the lounge area with your peeps if it's people-watching night. There is also an outside patio although I've never made it out there but it is pretty large. This is the kind of place you think you're gonna get the night started at but then end up staying because it's so good.
