So apparently Uva 69 is trying to push the lounge thing a little bit harder these days, as they have distinguished the side bar and patio area, as well as the little art gallery in the back as "Lounge 69," which is separate and distinct from the restaurant, except they have the same staff and you get the same fare.  Interesting, yes.A friend and I were here for an impromptu happy hour recently and had a great time.  The mojitos are strong and very well made.  And they're 2-for-1, which is great!  The couches and loungey area is super-comfortable, which makes it a lot easier to sip those mojitos a little faster...They're going to try to open the back art gallery area for private parties and larger groups, and they're doing it up nicely.  I may have to convince my office to move our weekly happy hours down the block a little bit every once in a while...Oh, and the food looks awesome!  I can't wait to go back for lunch!

Uva 69 is close to my boyfriend's home, so we end up there quite often mostly for breakfast since we are quite fond of the "Breakfast of Champions Burrito." My man is quite the health nut so he opts for egg whites and turkey sausage but I take mine like a "Champion," including eggs, (with yolk), bacon, a very yummy turkey sausage and tomatoes. It comes accompanied by a reasonable serving of mild to medium Pico de Gallo. Evidently we very much like it (Champion burrito) hence the fact we always end up ordering the same dish. The only set back in this trendy dinner is it's a bit too hot for my liking. Air conditioning PLEASE! It's terribly hot in Miami year round and if I choose to seat inside is for one reason and reason only, AC. Plus heat cuts my appetite and does not compliment my must have cup(s) of coffee in the morning. In addition, booths are a bit too deep and make me feel like Alice in Wonderland, except there is no make bigger potion or one that elongates the arms. Therefore do consider chairs unless you are Shaquille O'Neal.Over all, I have no complaints on the food; I'll be back and maybe try a chair next time or outside dining considering fans are on for hopefully a cooler experience.

I came here last week for lunch with a friend, and everything was great.  I had "La Minuta" the fish, was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside with a yummy mayo sauce.  It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the Miami sunshine while eating great food.

Uva 69 is a favorite Miami restaurant of mine. I have eaten there for breakfast, for lunch and for drinks, sometimes when they have a DJ or live music. The place is like an airy oasis next to Biscayne Blvd., which can have its share of traffic. I've never had difficulty finding parking, and since it's on Biscayne, it's also accessible by public transportation. Walk "inside" to the outdoor patio, and you'll find comfortable sofas and chairs with a sort of Moroccan style on one "end", and a more typical outdoor dining area on the other end. If you want air conditioning, go to another restaurant. I have never found the place too hot. They have fans and indoor seating if you like, but I have always preferred the outdoor option. I have always been treated very well by the staff: the hostess, the waitpersons. This is why I always bring guests from out of town to Uva. They always love it. The food is delicious. They make very good baked goods (breakfast), a fabulous tomato soup, and entrees that look as good as they taste, with generous portions. Drinks are also very tasty. Another thing: I also like the fact that this place tends to attract nice people. It does not have that snob/superficial factor you find and feel in South Beach joints. On more than a few occasions, my friends and I have struck up conversations with nearby diners. So if you want to meet new people, this is one of those places that could serve as a nice starting point. This is my first review... so here goes.My friends and I decided to leave the beach to try out Sunday brunch somewhere else. We choose UVA 69.. and overall it was okay.Parking was no problem and neither was getting a table... especially since we had a baby with us.The service was good, as were the bloody marys. My friend ordered the Goat Cheese and and Cantimpalo Chorizo Bruschetta as a starter. It was super tasty. I had read on Yelp about the "Breakfast of Champions Burrito" but unfortunately it wasn't on the menu! I ended up having a three egg omelette. It had mozarella and prosciutto in it. It was good but I wanted more. The dish had no sides other than two small pieces of bread.  Some potatoes would have been a good addition (you can get them as a side, but they were already out)The prices were also good... $6 dollar bloody marys and my omelette was reasonably priced. One more thing.. we sat outside and the weather was perfect.. but on a hot summer day... i would definitely sit indoors.went for a friends birthday the other night. there was really no ambiance, our party was the bulk of the patrons there that night. the fans were blowing full blast and with this wknd's cold front there was really no need for them, it just made it extra unbearably cold. i didnt eat but most of the ppl did and really enjoyed all the different tapas style plates. the drinks were reasonably priced at about $9. we also got 2 hookahs going (grape and melon) they were nice and fun and different. hadnt smoked hookah in years and really enjoyed it! also the hookah was reasonably priced at 15 for both.it was a-ok. i would like to go back and actually eat there, which may bump the 3.5 stars up to a solid 4.I searched long and hard for a 'not pretentious Miami restaurant that was moderately priced but still nice' for my husbands bday. Uva 69 was exactly the place.  The atmosphere was casual and laid back, but still nice enough for an evening out or date night.  The neighborhood was a little sketchy, but once you get there-it is a comfortable and nice.I have not yet mentioned the best part- the food.  I was skeptical at first since the menu only has 5 entrees, but it proved to be more than enough.  My salmon was possibly the best salmon I have ever had.  My husband ordered pork tenderloins and it was also delicious.  We definitely left happy, ,and full.  As far as the check, it def. was quite reasonable. Overall- great dinner experience.Since we all were off today, the girls went to lunch at UVA69 located on Biscayne Blvd. My girlfriend watches a show called "check please" on PBS and this was one of the restaurants they recommended. When we first got there I wasn't pleased with the atmosphere at first but it grew on me. I had an issue with the hostess/waitress constantly playing in her hair (fusion extensions lol). The service was o.k. but he did apologize that it was lunch time and they are really busy. As for the food it was delicious. My friends ordered the Sake Marinated Grouper Filet, the grilled Mahi-Mahi sandwich, and I had the fried Mahi Mahi sandwich. For dessert they ordered the Crumb Apple Tarlette and the Banana Pudding. I was full and just had a little taste of each and again it was delicious. The price is reasonable and I would definitely go back again.

I've been coming to this place for years and to this day I love it. Breakfast on weekends is always fun and they treat my three year old son like gold.  Almost like family. The waiters are always friendly and the owners always personable. I highly recommend it.

I discovered this restaurant through a friend a few years back and I have been eating here ever since! The decor is chic -- very trendy but at the same casual and relaxed. No place for pretentious attitude here. This is a relaxing oasis in busy Biscayne. I love having my Sunday brunch at Uva. It is so good. Their banana bread is perfect for sharing. Friday nights are fun with a live DJ and great drinks/appetizers. You have got to try their tomatoe soup. YUM!

Great place for outdoor dining, even when it's 95 degrees out, Uva has a covered outdoor area with plenty of fans that make it seem like perfect California weather. The soup of the day is usually good. They also have the tomato-basil soup on a daily basis which never fails. The caprese salad is very fresh and even has a bit of truffle oil on it.I feel like one of the chef's there is a little lazy on the presention though. Sometimes my Mahi Mahi sandwich comes out looking like a mess.I frequently come back to Uva 69.

I've been for brunch and the pancakes are yummy and last weekend I went for a friends bday. I thought it was a great change of pace to our usual Saturday nights. They have the hookahs which I had never tried and finally did! The melon was really good while the grape was a bit strong for my taste. The drinks were reasonable. I believe my jack and diet was $8 while my glenlivet was only $9. The appetizers were a good deal as well and  tasted great.  However, there was pretty empty. I believe our party was the only one there, meaning if it weren't for the 15 of us the place would have not had one living soul.
