We had one of those pretzel breads with the hot dog inside... I didn't enjoy it all that much, it was too dry.  Store had some huge pretzels.

On a cold Miami night, I sauntered over to check out the Swiss Maker. The establishment is clean, uncluttered and offered a stunning arrangement of  pretzel sandwich creations. I opted for some candied pecans. They did NOT disappoint.I tore into that bag of hot, fragrant candied pecans like a fat girl at a buffet. It was a pure pleasure that only a glutton could appreciate. The only downside is that they're quite expensive- $5 for a child's handful of nuts.

Swiss Maker is the newest addition to the Lincoln Road mall, located conveniently near the Starbucks and Haagen-Dazs that crowd the south side of the street between Washington and Drexel.  The store itself is spacious, with glass case upon glass case of goodies lining both sides of the place.  Swiss Maker is famous (in Switzerland, I'm guessing since I'd never heard of it) for its brezel goods.  As far as I can tell, bretel is pretzel.  And they sell pretzels on their own, in sizes ranging from tiny to as big as my head.  They also have a wide assortment of brezel sandwiches, including a smoked salmon one that caught my eye.  They also have a huge selection of roasted nuts and chocolate-dipped fruits.  Seriously.  There was so much to choose from!  I couldn't process it all and had to leave, it was that overwhelming! But I did manage to snag a few mini-pretzels (brezels?) to sample the goods.  They were good - salty and chewy, but would've been better if they were hot (or at least warm) with a side of cheese or mustard for dipping!  I can't wait to try out their other goodies! But only when I'm sure to be prepared to be overwhelmed by the selection...

The following review is courtesy of a traveling San Francisco yelper:One month later, still thinking fondly of my two visits here. A week of dancing till the sun rises requires moments of rest and relaxation, and sitting outside, people watching, enjoying the weather while savoring their delicious and diverse selection of pretzels was just what we needed to help fuel our recovery. And mustard for dipping, of course. This place is a new WMC tradition.

Walk...Walk....Walk...Hot chick....Some dude model...Hot chick...Ummm...Pretzels are my wife's favorite and we had to stop in.This street is a story of its own..Hookah pipes on the tables, hot models (Both guys and girls are everywhere), lots of high priced stores.  We were there on a bus tour of Miami and we happened upon this pretzel shop. They offered a free pretzel if you ordered 2. My wife got some FANTASTIC caraway seed pretzels which were awesome and I opted for the pumpkin seed pretzel. The service was great and they had a multitude of flavors to choose from. What a find!

If you love fresh hot glazed nuts or fresh pretzels, this is your heaven. You can't help but follow the tempting aroma of fresh glazed almonds and peanuts into this store. On the right are large glass cases of delicious-looking nuts as well as an employee making fresh batches of glazed nuts. And better yet, they offer samples to everyone. The fresh made glazed peanuts were so good... (but pricey too). Then on the left is pretzel heaven. Fresh basked pretzelsof numerous sizes and kinds as well as pretzels made into sandwiches. We had a regular pretzel and it was pretty tasty, although I prefer Auntie Annie's more.Bottom line: Nut and pretzel heaven on Lincoln Rd.

Nice bright clean shop.  The guys that work there are cool...and they get you with the samples! mmmI had chocolate and white chocolate almonds but they are not just chocolate covered almonds.  They are crunchy and sweet, almost like a candied almond or pralined almond with sweet cocoa powder in the mix.  I don't know how they make them but you need to try them!....oh..and what is this I see? Chocolate covered strawberries? YES PLEASE!They have milk/dark chocolate covered strawberries, and white chocolate covered strawberries with the opposite chocolate drizzled on top on a skewer (6)  for your portability needs (why thank you Swiss Maker) for $8.00 hmmm what to do...what to do?I wanted both .. but didn't want 2 skewers...and do you know what this kind latin fella did for me?  He got out the strawberries right there...and hand dipped 3 in white chocolate and drizzled them with the dark chocolate and 3 in milk/dark chocolate and drizzled them with white chocolate...(and even threw in a chunk of chocolate dipped pineapple cause I wanted to try that) Now you can't beat that with a stick.  Thank you love. They also have chocolate dipped bananas (which my cousin said were very good) pineapples, candied apples, pretzels, candied and newfangled chocolated nuts of all variety...and other stuff I don't remember. If you are there...just go. That's all.

Self conscious. That's how I felt with my fist around this large phallic shaped dessert as I walked along the Lincoln road shops. This review is solely based on the chocolate covered banana. I wanted to get the chocolate fruit skewer but wasn't sure if it was worth $8. The chocolate covered banana was $5, but still not worth it (as it served merely to be a waste of stomach space). The chocolate around it was thinner than I imagined and I didn't enjoy the crystal sugar dusted on the bottom. The banana itself was good, large and sweet...I've had better chocolate covered (unripe) bananas from the freezer of my sorority house (back in the day).

My experience here was so different. I adore pretzels and always wanted to stop in and try one. Last night was the first time we got a chance.Upon entering you are overwhelmed with everything they have to offer. Roasted peanuts, pretzels, smoothies, fruit cups, sandwiches, coffee, etc....The place is spotless and very large, with plenty room to wonder around and see everything in the display cases. As I was deciding which pretzel hubby and I would share, the owner of the establishment was screaming at the two employees. WTF???Yelling, hands going up in the air, and she never stopped. Telling them how to clean, what to clean, and who the heck knows what else. I ordered our pretzel and two waters $10.75 and we walked outside and grabbed a table. She was still inside yelling at them (doors open) so we could hear her. She then came outside like a maniac and started cleaning the outside tables. She came to our table and literally threw a candle on it. (very roughly) never saying a word to us. It took everything I had not to say something.Unto the pretzel, not sure how they make them in the Swiss, but it was unlike any pretzel I have ever ate. It was all dough (bread) maybe this is how they make them but the bottom line is it tasted like stale bread. She did ask if I wanted it heated  and I said yes. This did not help the taste at all.We decided to take a few bites and throw it away, mind you the entire time we were there (twenty minutes or so) the owner was still screaming in front of all her patrons at the two girls. They looked petrified of her. I was completly appalled that anyone would treat their employees like this. Hey you gotta a problem, take them in the back room, NOT in front of your customers.Service- TerribleFood- DisgustingPrice- Very highOwner- needs a kick in the ASS!Go to Aunt Annies, now they have great pretzels....:)
