I heart, heart, heart Talbott Street. This may be my favorite place for post-11-o'clock nightlife in town, although it's in close competition with the hookah cafe. I love the cheesy Europop music (baggage from all that time spent in Russia; what can I say?), the cross-dressers, the drag shows, the gay boys dancing on the platforms, the stiff drinks and the general air of joyful debauchery. I love that it's the only place in town that I can wear my real club clothes. Too bad I don't get out here more often. Yay, Talbott Street!

I only give it four stars due to it's competition (or lack thereof). This club is the core of the 20-something and 30-something gay set in Indianapolis. There is a decent upstairs lounge that overlooks the dance floor -- very 'Queer-As-Folk-Babylon'. The drinks are decent, not too expensive. The drag shows are fun though -- Vickie St. James is my favorite.

If you like cross-dressing men, this, by God, this is the place for you. If you don't like cross-dressing men, then head for the hills. Maybe it was because we were there on Halloween night, but the guys in drag outnumbered everyone else in there. That said, it had an amazingly fun environment. The music alternated between upbeat techno and men/women on stage singing whatever the hell popped out of their mouths. The patrons are very friendly and are more than willing to respect the straight guys. I've heard from various females who have gone to the place that it's the most fun they've ever had at a club because the men aren't after sex, allowing them to honestly enjoy themselves. Someone uncomfortable with the gay scene probably shouldn't go there. Someone just looking to have a blast--or maybe a mean Sex on the Beach--would fit right in here.

I super love Talbott Street! I have been here on numerous occasions and have had a great time every single time. The drag show is hilarious and fantastic! The rave-esque music and glow sticks make me smile and the drinks are strong. There are tables on the upper floor that look over the dance area so I love to sit up there while guzzling drinks and people watch. This place is really fun and does not pretend to be anything other than what it is. I really appreciate that.

I went here a few times while I was still in Indianapolis. I always had a great time!Compared to other bars in the area I believe the drinks to be very expensive (not beer...beer is like 2-3$).The music is very loud. My friend that told me that the sky bar was quieter, but I actually thought it was much louder. I know its a night club, but it was kinda ridiculous how loud it was.I suggest getting pretty loaded before going then try to maintain the buzz while there!

The girls are stunning.Love that you can still smoke in bars in Indy.It reminds me of Smart Bar circa 1996. My friend got kissed in the unisex bathroom by the same sex.Good times had by all.

I agree with the first reviewer, Vickie St. James is one of my favorites too!I came home (to Indy) to visit and my best friend took me here for a good time! We had a blast! On Friday nights they have a $4 drink list with fun names like a 'banana hammock' and 'proud mary' and many more! Or try the pricier cocktails ($10 martinis) like a 'Lemon Drop with Wings' yummy!!!This was seriously the best entertainment I have had in a very long time, and I am straight! lolI love how at the end of the show Vickie came out and hackled all the straight women, and the gay men with birthdays and anniversaries! These ladies can sing, dance, and make everyone have a GREAT time. We had the honor of seeing Miss Gay USA, she rocked! This was a strange night for me cause after my first drag show we went to my first strip club... for the record I would take the drag show any day! Vickie and the others really work hard for their money!

...because sometimes you need a little trashy gay club in your life. Well, big trashy gay club. The place is huge. I suffer from an illness called Gay Club Anxiety that forces me to drink more than I should to feel comfortable around my gay peers. It's a problem...especially at Talbotts because I always end up drinking more than I should and I always end up charging it to my credit card. WHAT!? DUMB. I'll work on it. Either way, this places is fun. Strait girls effing love it. The drag show is entertaining, less the long werid Warner Brothers-esque music that plays for a half hour pre-show. I'm giving it three stars for that, and for the fact that it's so damn smokey I'm sure I come out of there with some sort of irreversible lung damage (trust me, I would know). There's no out door section, which would be nice during the summer, but otherwise, it's a great place.
