Secrets Reviews

Definately the best selection of glass in all of chicagoland. Handblown, color changing, etc etc. Metal and wood too (dugouts, etc). Here's a little secret that hopefully won't get me blacklisted. If you ask point blank for 20% off your purchases you will get it. Do not tip toe around this and don't feel awkward asking. Just say "may i please have 20% off my purchase?" and voila! The staff is very friendly and knowledgable about the inventory, Much better than adam's apple and superb. In case you are doing a keyword search hopefuly this helps. . . Hookah, bong, glass pipe, steamroler, water pipe, hitter, rolling papers, tatoo, salvia, novelty, nitrous, whippit. That about sums up the shop. Figure they must have upwards of 3000 glass items in stock, so if you can't find what you want you are probably in the wrong place. I'm not sure, but I think they may be closely related with the peeps from taboo taboo and egor's as that is where i learned of the 20% deal.

This place definitely has the best selection of pipes and water pipes that I have ever seen! Everything is as great as everyone else has already mentioned. However I will say that they do lack a variety of Hookahs. Otherwise, go here for anything else!

The staff is so friendly. The first time I went in there I was buying for a friend of mine. I told them what color, kind, size with cameleon glass and price range and they picked up my options and set them on the counter. They're way nicer than anyother smoke shop I've been too. Once I get a few extra dollars I'm going back there to buy a bubbler.

great little place. we planned on going to samah for some hookah and when we found out we couldn't get a room my friends decided to just buy a hookah instead. this shop seems to have everything from a wide variety of hookahs to water pipes and a large assortment of flavored tabacco. secrets loses a star because the guy working there seemed to be annoyed when he was helping us. how are you going to be annoyed when you have customers about to make a big purchase??

I'd tell you what I got here but its a SECRET. But they had a great selection of SECRETS. Kinda pricey if you are not used to Chicago pricing, but compared to Chicagoland places that sell HAPPY SECRETS, its okay. SHHHH don't tell anyone my SECRET

I have to admit I am always to intimidated to go into this shop, probably because of the skulls on the sign, it always looks as though it is empty and there might be something I don't want to be involved in going on inside.

It's really hit or miss here. Don't come during a weekend evening unless you know exactly what you want. It's kind of hard to browse their "water pipe" collection because their giant display case is blocking it. I ended up standing on some pipe on the groud to check out the Roors. If I'm gonna drop that much cash, I shouldn't be standing on a pipe. Only about 1/2 the time is someone helpful, and only about 1/2 of THOSE times do I get a good deal. Come here when Pipes and Stuff doesn't have what you need.

Great little shop. Great selection of unique items, great incense. Very nice and helpful staff. As described below except the 20% is for $20 or more.

I'll stop by secrets whenever I need some smoke supplies. The staff has always been knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are reasonable too.

This is probably the best place to buy exotic pipes in the Chicago area.Other exotic tobacconists often make you feel like you are walking into a dirty, rank adult theater full of men in raincoats, sticky floors, and nothing else. Poorly lit, lots of dust and badly displayed merchandise. Places where you feel instantly ashamed, and worry that someone you know saw you go through the door. Places of infamy and degradation.Secrets is amazing. The prices are reasonable, the staff is nice and intelligent, and the selection is mind-blowing. The store is well-lit. They ONLY sell smoking materials, which I think is important. And remember these pipes are sold only for the purpose of smoking tobacco!

The place is pretty good. Wide selection of pipes and bongs to choose from and pretty cheap too. I found my 'Rasta' color pipe. I hate that word. Word of advice. The colors "Red, Gold, Black, and Green' are colors of Rasta natives, but it means more than that.Red-The bloodGold-The gold that was stolen from usBlack-The color of our skinGreen-The land of mother AfricaSorry, but I had to put that in there. But its true origination was brought over from Africa...not during the Bob Marley years. Anywho, the associates were great with explaining different bongs and pipes. Although, I wish they had a selection of smoking herbs or tobacco to choose from. Such as...Legal Herbs, but other then that I give them four stars. I took off the fifth, because they over charged me for some Kratom leaf...which I still don't think it worked on me, because I had to mix it with some goodie that I had, but over all. I will defiantly purchase another pipe from them.

So 2 stars is "Meh. I've experienced better"? Well, that fits, because I have experienced better. At Secrets. I used to love this place: peering in at all that glass in a dizzying array of colors and shapes is like a kaleidoscope in a display case, and the staff were helpful and friendly. But on my most recent visit, I feared I'd have to resort to a feigned seizure to attract the attention of the the staff, who seemed more interested in talking than selling. Upon finally being deemed worthy of the minimal service they could provide, they requested my I.D., held it while showing me glass, made it impossible to compare more than two pieces at once, and were approximately as friendly as the surly lady at my local library branch. Feeling a bit surly myself, I left and went across the street to Novelties and Stuff, where I was greeted with a smile, and got great customer service. But I'll save that for another review. (Yo, Novelties and Stuff: you've earned your own review, and you'll get it. After 4:20.)

A journey to Secrets is like visiting a museum. Some of the glass pieces that I would never consider buying are just gorgeous, so I usually spend fifteen minutes just taking in the insane spectrum of artwork they possess. I bought my first tobacco pipe here, and it has proven its $40 value. Very durable selection they have, ranging from very small to enormous and almost obnoxious. Lots of animal shaped glass pipes, which I adore but would be too nervous about breaking. I always find something new that I didn't see last time.

Not much I can say. The prices are good and the staff is helpful. I've been here with friends many times and they all leave happy.

Now I know why call this place Secrets. Pssstt. Let me fill you in on the secret. They sell a lot of cool stuff here the staff is some of the best sales people I've ever met. I got a lot of goods for just under $70.00. I left happy so did my wallet. That's all.

Got a bong at this place. Great selection. If you kind of just take your time and ask to see a bunch of pieces... eventually the guys and chicks that work there will give you some kind of an offer on a glass piece. I got them to throw in a nice slide and some other supplies on the cheap. Also, ask if they have any pieces they are looking to get rid of. They have a lot of old pieces that they want to move so they can stock their shelves with updated glass.
