Plush doesn't look like a fancy lounge, but it has never failed to provide a good.  The crowd is diverse and the music is good.  The only negative is that they close at 2am.  Plush is definitely a great place on Wednesdays as they offer a special on martinis and appetizers.

I decided to try out Plush a couple of month ago.  overall I liked this place because they know how to make martini's and you have the option here to smoke flavored tobacco from a hookah.  I had a fun time here, but it did not seem like the typical hookah bars I have been to in the past.  The wait staff did not seem like they knew how to light the hookah nor did they really check up on us to make sure we did not need more tobacco.  The bar/ lounge itself had comfy chairs to sit in but it was fairly dark in the place, which made me feel sleepy once I left the establishment.

This is a cool West Loop hot spot for early night partying.  My friends and I got lit.  No cover; drink prices are average.  The decor is plush and very red.  Two large projection screens and one large plasma churn out music videos that vary from hip-hop to club/house to pop to 80s, with some random other stuff thrown in.  The DJ doesn't mix, and if he does, it's not smooth at all (and I'm not sure how they go about mixing music videos anyway).  The videos make for a unique feel; it's neat eye candy.  The danciness of the place depends on the crowd.  Note: the place dies at around 1am (on a Friday), so plan on bouncing to your next spot then.

I went with two friends of mine for their $5 martini night. The martinis were delicious and served in a regular glass. You know how there are some places that have specials and serve you a drink in a sippy cup? Well this isnt one of them. I loved the decor! The music was okay as well as the crowd but I will definitely go back.

I had never heard of Plush, before my cousin mentioned that she wanted to go for her birthday. The crowd was very diverse and the music was...well the music could have been better. We went around ten on Wednesday which was good because they had 1/2 priced martinis. The drinks aren't watered down, but the food is the pits and the waiters are too grabby with taking the plates away. We had to tell the waiter on more than one occasion that 'no we aren't done yet, so please stop trying to take my 1/2 full plate. It's a nice place to meet up with friends.

After driving by this spot numerous times throughout the day my boyfriend decided we should check it out. We went on a Wednesday night when they have 80's and early 90's videos playing. The music was fun, the kind you are probably too emberassed to admit you know every word to. The crowd was mixed from a bunch of metrosexuals lurking by the bar, to couples sipping on champagne in dark cozy corners. Our cocktail server was never far and was taking orders for the next drink before we finished the first. My dirty martini was stiff how I like it. The tab at the end of the night was pretty high, but our party of 4 drank like a party of 8 so I can't say it was overpriced. Don't come here if you're expecting to dance, unless you want to do a lap dance because that's all there's really room for. You will not catch a cab outside this place so be prepared with a car of your own or shoes that you can walk 10 blocks in after a night of drinks.

The decor is right out of a bad 90s music video.  The drinks are overpriced and under-libated.  But, the food is pretty good, and they've added some daily specials to compete with the neighbors. A bonus: the sidewalk seating is perfect to glare and mentally undress the hotties that work over at the salon across the street. It also stays open late, and when there is a good sporting event on the hip hop crap projected on the screen gets (thankfully) shut down.  The place has the wrong vibe for the area.

I went there for the 1st time on a Thursday. The appetizers were great; half off on sandwiches and sky vodka.  Unfortunately, when I paid the bill with my Visa debt card and checked my account the next day, the waitress 'Betty' over charged me. I included a tip but it appears they authorized extra. I can't wait to speak with the Manager. Otherwise, the place was nice, however, I don't plan on paying with a debit card anymore! Let's see if they would accommodate me for this screw up, seems like a credit card Sceme in the making!!

I went again for the second time (previous time was in February 2006), and I must say that I enjoyed myself again.  I went on their 1/2 price appetizer / $5 martini Wednesday night.  The appetizers were big/plentiful and good (We had the fried calamari with marinara sauce and the spinach dip with artichoke hearts on garlic bread).  For a fruity martini, I enjoyed the Tanqueray 10 tini (Chambord, Tanq 10, Pineapple Juice). For a Wednesday night in the West Loop, there were (IMHO) a good amount of people by 1030pm (don't like it too crowded). The plush, dark red sofas/chairs were indeed very comfortable.  Service was prompt.  Outdoor seating on metallic chairs is avaiable.  Music was okay and kina loud, but a live DJ is supposed to be there by 930p every night. No cover.  Easy to find street parking (particularly on weekdays).  I'd definiately return.

This is a club, but um...there's no DJ?  There's not even a hidden iPod or something.  I think they just turn on the music videos and whatever plays is what will be playing?  I'm guessing that explains why not many people really dance here.  It would be like having a dance party to MTV in your living room.  It's great that Plush has no cover, because I'm pretty sure that someone would eventually go postal after paying to get into a place to watch music videos they could have seen for free at home.  All of that aside, you can get decently priced drinks and there's a good amount of seating.  I've never eaten the food here, so I can't comment on the food.  It's a good place to grab a drink and relax with friends and there's usually parking available on the street.

I've been going to Plush for about 3 years now. Its had its ups and downs but I think its definitely "up" now. Its a great place to go for dinner during the week. The food is good and fast. They have great specials (1/2 off bottle of wines night is the best!!). The drink prices are a little high for the west loop, but they've always been made right. The music is good and not too loud during dinner hours. But you can bet that the later it gets the louder it gets. Do I stay past 10 though? No way. Especially on the weekends. The only downer to this place is that its frequented by a bunch of newly-turned 21 year olds. Other than that, I highly recommend it...especially the salmon!

So, we stumbled into this place completely by accident while looking for a place to grab a bite before a show at the United Center.  Every other place on the street was packed....except Plush.  We got seated in one of the back booths...which was plush!  Velvety plush, I would dare to say!  This place from looks alone is pretty dodgy looking and we were expecting some sub bar food.  Fortunately, we were quite surprised!  It was 1/2 price app night, so we tried their artichoke dip, which was a definite crowd pleaser.  The ladies both got buffalo chicken sandwiches, which were huge.  I think I ate 1/2 of one myself.  Sandwiches come with these seasoned, crispy fries that were awesome.  I went with the coconut shrimp from the appetizer menu and wow!  what a surprise!   Not your run of the mill, out of the box shrimp.  These were plump, well cooked, lightly breaded and a had a bit of a kick.  Plush had some great 80s/90s videos playing on the TVs and we saw more than one table singing along.  We overheard one guy say, "Now this is my jam!" when Bell Biv Devoe came on.  That Girrrrl is Poison!

Hello, I'd like to order a tall glass of over-priced suckage to go with the Garage sale "lounge" decor.  Oh, and could you act super pissy when you serve me my drinks that I tipped you generously for.   This is place is wonderful........For me to poop on.

Went here on a Thursday night around 7pm, so before it got really busy. I had one of the best martinis of my life - Lemon Drop, and a really great caesar salad wrap. Yummy fries!! The interior decorations were cool- lots of velour/velvet seating. It is definitely appropriately named Plush. They played Top 40 music with the music videos playing on the many flat screen tvs. Yes, there were loads and loads of tools, but while other yelpers give bars bad reviews for that, I try to look beyond :-) haha

The dirty martinis weren't very dirty. The clientele was. not in a good way.In a "I'll gawk at you while you walk to the bathroom then debate my buddy on whether or not I'd do ya" way. try to get a cab when you're done.  In the winter.  In Chicago.  Yeah ... good luck with that.

I grabbed a few cocktails here after I closed up shop yesterday.  Outside patio is great for people watching in the West Loop.  Considering the "glam" crowd, this place had a really low-key vibe to it.Gonna check out the specials next week....

Wednesday night $5 martinis! Delish! Had French martinis. Friends had watermelon and pear ones. They were all good. Our waitress was very attentive. We sat inside first then moved outside, and she gave no attitude... Would definitely go back.! Am definitely planning on going back actually. Cheers!

UPDATE:  I've since been to Plush on a thursday for 1/2 priced sandwiches.  There is big selection of sammies (I always get the burger) and their fries are REALLY good!  The buffalo chicken sandwich is HUGE.  and oddly, tacos are included in the 1/2 priced sandwich menu!  haha...no fries tho.  lolI love it when things change for the better!!!  =) I've been to Plush about 6 times.  About 4 of those times were to eat.  Okay........2 stars, 2…

Plush is a great last minute place to grab a drink because parking is readily available in the West Loop area, bar service is attentive, no need to vamp up in order to fit in and who could say no to their 1/2 price martinis every Wednesday? The restaurant/lounge really has to work on their ventilation system though because the smell of fried food and oil wasn't too pleasant and overwhelms you when you initially walk in. I think it was 80's night as well when I went because they played all the "greatest hits" of that time...brought me back to memory lane with Paula Abdul and New Kids on the Block!

So let me tell you a little story about this establishment they call Plush...So my friends decided to start a little production company and hooked up with Plush. They would have parties at Plush and thier guests were generally the only people in the bar on a saturday night. The staff was very accomidating and paid no mind to any dress code. Seeing the success in the previous nights, my friend decides to have her birthday party there. As soon as we get there, the night turns to a quick hell. The normally dead bar is packed with up tight douchbags. All of a sudden the staff wants to act like they don't know anything about the party and are quick to turn away party goers because of the suddenly enforced dress code. But the bottom line of the story was this..This place is extremly RACIST! They were quick to let people in if they were white, and the vast majority of my Black and Latino friends were turned away. Even if they were dressed for the "dress code" they were letting in White girls in droves, even if they had just shown up, while the minorities were left waiting in the January cold. The managers ignored the people they used to do parties with and also ignored the comments on their discriminatory practices. Needless to say, my friend ended up cussing out the manager, left her birthday party early, and took all of her well paying friends to a more color friendly establishment. Long story short if you are a minority, or have minority friends, or even have the slightest bit of common decency and respect for human kind, I suggest you stay far, far away from Plush and its whack Jim Crow mentality.

Don't listen to what Mike D. might say about this place.  This place is a bloody nightmare.  As soon as we stepped inside, I felt like we were eating at a strip club and yes, I do know what that feels like.I had the "chipotle" chicken sandwich upon the recommendation from the waitress.  I don't know how she regularly takes her meals but the sandwich they served was as tough as a piece of bark and the only thing "chipotle" about the chicken was that they threw a slice of pepper-jack cheese on top of it.B/c, you know, "chipotle" means "pepper-jack cheese" in Spanish. After we stumbled out having spent our well earned money and ill-begotten time, we later passed by all these other places we should have eaten at instead.Next time.

I loke Plush, I really do, but Saturday nights after 10 is a NO NO.  I was there on Saturday night and it turned intoa  rave! It gets so loud in this place that you can't hear the person next to you.  The food is good , the drinks are ok (it took several).  I think it's a bit pricey for what they offer and the music is not consistently good. I have to be in the mood for Plush.1/2 price appetizers does not include ALL appetizers so ask before you order a bunch.

My friends and I love to go to Plush on Wednesday nights for 1/2 priced martinis/appetizers and the Retro music vids...So, when I needed to host a Happy Hour for Women and Girls AIDS Day, I figured that this would be the perfect place. The staff was very helpful with our reservation, etc. On the night of the event, our server was a little "bumbly." It seemed like she might have been having an off night. OR it could've been that it was a lot to handle. She was our only server and there were about 30 of us. Anyways, there were a few hiccups, but for the most part, we were okay. The only reason that I'm deducting stars is the owner seemed like a jerk when I introduced myself to him and thanked him for his hospitality. Not to exaggerate, but for a good 45-60 mins our party was the only group in the place. I guess I was just expecting a little niceness. Who knows?Anyways, I'll probably still come back for Martinis and 80s music, but I don't think I'll ever host a private event here again.

Somewhere between 2 stars and 3 stars... went here a couple of weekends ago after the Spurs game... The place was packed around that time and the music wasn't bad, but it got very repetitive very quickly... their service is also slow as they just have one server for all the tables.I'm surprised this place tries to pass itself off as a "club" because it'd do much better if it marketed itself as a lounge - primarily because this place doesn't have a dance floor!!!

The first time I heard about Plush I dismissed it as another fancy spot with no character.  Then I went there, and I completely changed my mind.  The atmosphere was great, the music was really good, and the food and the drinks were probably the best part.If you're looking for a spot to get good food, and drinks, and hang out in a "club" atmosphere, this is a great place to get all of that.  If you just want dinner, come before 10 on a weekend, because the music gets louder after that. They take reservations, which is a must on a Friday or Saturday night. They also have great specials during the week, which also is a great time to enjoy a quieter dinner. As far as the drinks go, you cannot go wrong with any of the martinis.  While the prices are a bit high, it's not too bad for the occasional outing.

$9 for a basic mixed drink? If you are coming to Plush you better bring your money belt cuz this place is on the pricey side for this part of town! I stopped in here last night to grab a nightcap after a party across the street. I had been by here several times but had never stopped in. The sign out side is all about "great food" so at first I thought it was a restaurant only, but once inside- it is easy to see that this is simply a bar that serves food. If you like "over the top" then Plush is for you. Huge red velvet booths along the wall, Murano glass chandeliers dripping with crystal jewels, floor to ceiling curtains on the front windows, modern oblong mirrors and a bar that is edged in hammered metal. Interesting choices. We didn't eat but took a look at the menu which has a range of food items from typical "bar food" to entrees, salads and sandwiches. Service was good- the greeter was friendly, and for a Tuesday night- there was a steady stream of people coming in and out of the place. The music seemed to be a mix of 80's and 90's punctuated by music videos playing on screens behind the bar.  Street parking is also easy in this neighborhood.I doubt that this will become a regular hang out for me- but if I am looking for a break from all the "beer bars" up and down this stretch of Madison, and I have a pocket full of money I am looking to rid myself of- I might just stop back in.

Wednesday nights are the best here!! I have only been here on Wednesdays I repeat it was great. The first time was my friends 30th birthday we all gather in the back and had a funky good time . The martinti's are the bomb I had apple, pear, watermelon's, take advantage of the half price appetizers share and try several like the spinach and artichoke the coconut shrimp the Buffalo strips are regular price but worth it . I read a review that said it was racist and enforced a dress code there now a sign on the door that states a dress code. I have not experience a problem here that something I will not tolerate when I spending the same color money which is "green "

Plush is a great place to get together with a couple friends for some casual food and a few cocktails.  The decor is a mix between Art Nuevo and Dr. Seuss and the overall atmosphere is upscale and inviting.  I went a while back with some friends on a week night and our server was great, she was friendly, helpful, and super cool.  The food was pretty good as well, it is definitely a step up from bar food.  They do have a pretty unique menu, ranging from roasted duck to goat cheese and spinach pizza.  I have never been here on a busy weekend night, but can only imagine that the scene is full of trendy urbanites.

Someone else mentioned this as well..this place gets pretty crazy on Monday nights. Around 1:00am all hell breaks loose. Motorcycles blazing and people all over madison backing up traffic. I've also witnessed drunk losers peeing on the side of the street and the alley across the street. Then the drunks like to hang out on the side of our building wooping it up. I've called the police three times in the past few months because of this crap. It's uncalled for on a Monday night.Get a job, you drunk loser with nothing better to do than wake up the neighborhood in the middle of the night. I really hope this place goes out of business.

Plush....hmmmmm I'll give this place about 3.5 maybe 4 stars. To begin, I went here on a Thursday at 9pm, and the place was pretty empty with about 10 patrons in it, so I was a little disappointed.  The music was good and it was a mixture of rb and pop videos playing on the television screen... The food was great, very tasty!! The Sandwiches were 50 percent off, so my chicken sandwiched cost under 5 dollars!!!!! Yahooooooo!!!!!  The decor is very pretty...red, pink, and blue furniture and plush sofas, cool statues, etc...  I would definitely return here even though it wasn't very crowed.

Went on a Friday night. I had a good time only because I was with great company. It's a small lounge that's very low key. Here's where things we wrong.I ordered a cranberry vodka that tasted like vodka and water. So I asked the bartender if I could have more cranberry juice. It still tasted like vodka and water. So my boyfriend spoke to the bartender about my drink.BF: This was supposed to be a cranberry vodka but it tastes like water. Bartender:Who served it?BF:I'm not sure.Bartender:Well, who is the drink for??BF:It's for my girlfriend.Bartender:Next time, get more information buddy. So rude.

This review is based on food and service only, not nightlife.I went with a group of about 6 girls on a Thursday night.  To our surprise they had half price sandwiches and $3 bottles of beer.  Score.  We ordered a few apps and everyone got some sort of entree.  One friend is super happy they have crab cakes.  The waitress comes back and tells her they are out of crab cakes, she's sad.  Wait - she comes back and tells us they DO have them, yay!Food comes out.  Everything is just meh.  I had the portobello sandwich - it was pretty gross.  Portobello was cut up, not a full cap.  Too soggy.  It was the same portobello that was in the appetizer we got.  So all the food comes out and the crab cakes don't come out.  We ask the busboy to get our waitress, and she's like "oh, we're out, sorry about that!"  So THAT stunk. After a few more rounds of beers, we get the check.  She charged us for the crab cakes!!!  But she did not charge us the 18% auto gratuity as we had over 6 people.  When we tell her she charged us for the crab cakes, she brings us the new check with the crab cakes taken off, but she ADDED the gratuity!  We will not be back, mainly because of the food.  We got a laugh out of the stupid waitress.  Other things - location is pretty nice, it's not a busy street so there's not that much traffic.  Parking is pretty easy on a week night on Madison or Washington, or one of the side streets.

So cruising around the West Loop after discovering that West End's kitchen closed at 10, we happened upon the area around Plush, where it was obvious that people were still getting their eat on.  We chose Plush because their awning was decorated with the words "Great Eats" thrice. We are easily convinced people, apparently. So I'm not sure what to call Plush:Club - nice dance floor area, bumping loud hip-hop, in-sync music videos adorning the wallsLounge - Good amount of area to sit and be looked at, with a nice dark and low-key atmosphere (music non-withstanding)Sit-down restaurant - A pretty extensive menu, ranging from pastas to salads to sandwichesPub - I assume because it was Thursday, but $3 beers and half off sandiwchesOverall, I have to show love for how cheap our late dinners were, and it seemed like a fun place, but it was also awkward looking up as I munched on my buffalo chicken sandwich.  There not 10 feet away was a group of eight girls around a bottle-service-height table, looking about as confused as I was.  I'd like to say I'll be back, but I'm not sure what the reason would be.

Went here on Friday for drinks and luckily they had some good specials.  $7 for flavored Absolute drinks - so I was drinking Peach Vodka with sprite all night.  When midnight hit - we were ordering shots for my sister and I.  It was $10/shot of Patron, so it was pricey.  Then later that night, they upcharged another dollar to make it $11!!!  Not cool!

If you're looking to grab some good food at reasonable prices in a low key spot, head over to Plush. When you walk in there are welcoming crushed velvet couches and chairs to sit in. We were greeted by a pleasant server who told us about the 1/2 off sandwiches (Thursday special). The menu has a good selection of options from apps, sandwiches, entrees and salads. You won't go home hungry! We ordered the grilled calamari for our app. MUST MUST MUST TRY!! The plate was swelling with huge pieces of fresh calamari over a bed of fresh greens with an incredible balsamic dressing. Seriously, I wanted to lick the plate! Colleen nailed it. Plush is trying to be the big, bold happening club of the 90s, all luxe and superfluous, not realizing that times have changed. Plusher is not necessarily better, and design sensibilities are more sparing these days.I went awhile ago, on a weekend night, and it was pretty packed. So somebody likes it. I just don't think that's me. It's set up to be way more a sit-down and chill lounge than dance club, but lots of people were on their feet and in other people's way. There's no real dance area, but people would anyway, so maneuvering through the crowd was next to impossible. Or, conversely, if you wanted to dance, anywhere you did so, you were in the way of someone trying to get by.The video DJing was pretty smooth: gives people something else to look at, anyway, but was 100% hip-hop/pop the whole time I was there. When I went to talk to the DJ, I asked a couple questions, but he was terribly dismissive. Now I can relate, having been in his position myself, but to be completely unresponsive? Lame. For both people wanting to go and for the benefit of the club management itself, repeat after me: PLUSH IS A LOUNGE, NOT A DANCE CLUB.PLUSH IS A LOUNGE, NOT A DANCE CLUB.Repeat until it sinks in.

Plush is a (bad) late 90's theme party...unintentional, and lacking irony. -Crushed velvet. Everywhere. -Vases hanging from wall, with fake flowers. What? -Big screens display big fail. Britney? Beyonce? Barf. -Cocktail List is helter-skelter, and without focus. -Hynotiq is a mixer in well over a quarter of the drink menu. (ew)-DJ for an empty space (go figure?)-Our waitress had NO IDEA about anything on the menu. And was open about this fact. Several times. Quote: "well, ummmm, I'm not really sure what you would like, I'm not you." Yeah, well. Um...thank GOD. Plush = Pass.

Usually I'm the one sticking my boot up the respective arse's of places.  It's unusual for me to be in the position of defending a maligned business.  Plush isn't so bad, y'all.  It's got potential.  Work with me.Decor - the place is packed with crushed red velvet.  It hangs in the doorway.  It covers the overstuffed seats.  It terrifies muppets worldwide.  But, red velvet isn't a bad thing.  Red Velvet is a type of cake.  Cake tastes good.  Ergo, the decor is good?  See?  See what I did right there?  That's logic.Drinks - yes, they have horrible names and questionable ingredients.  BUT when I left Plush to return to Lakeview, it took me a while to realize that the #20 bus I was riding was going West.  I was going west, late at night, and I had no clue.  That's a good-azz drink!Crowd - well, there's not too much of a crowd to speak of.  I have never seen it packed, but it could/should be.  While some of the patrons/servers scared/annoyed my drink partner, I was charmed by friendliness and taken with their willingness to listen to any/all suggestions for beverages.  I waved to people.  I shook hands.  I imagined standing in the velvet drapes while holding a boa constrictor around my shoulders and moving my hips seductively.  Alright, that might have been the big screen.  But, at least Plush dared me to dream!  As a lounge, I think Plush does the job.  It allows you to lounge around in comfy seating, drink the equivalent of roofitinis and listen to clubby music.  What's not to like?

When you walk in there are welcoming crushed velvet couches and chairs to sit in. We were greeted by a pleasant server who told us about the 1/2 off sandwiches (Thursday special). The menu has a good selection of options from apps, sandwiches, entrees and salads. You won't go home hungry! We ordered the grilled calamari for our app. MUST MUST MUST TRY!! The plate was swelling with huge pieces of fresh calamari over a bed of fresh greens with an incredible balsamic dressing. Seriously, I wanted to lick the plate! My friend had their signature apple ravioli, and she couldn't believe how delectable her dish was. Plus, she actually had to take 1/2 home because the portion was so big! I indulged in the chicken parm. This dish was enough to serve THREE! The chicken was tender and tasty. The red sauce had chunks of tomatoes and a sweet flavor over the pasta. I, too, have enough for two more meals! Give Plush a try. Billy and his staff are welcoming. TVs are plentiful and you'll definitely sink into the food and chair or bench without a problem.
