Hard to rate...the pizza is actually really good from Tosca. I do not get the context of the Sushi bar at all. Not sure I like what they are going for there. The atmosphere is strange...it wants to be upscale but for the neighborhood it is in, the drinks at the bar are way overpriced. Plus everything aside from the pizza is garbage compared to what you can get at other restaurants in the general vicinity. There's a very high concentration of douchebags thinking they are hooked up or trying to act connected, especially on the weekend at night.

Tosca is one of the few nicer restaurants in the Bronx. It's an Italian restaurant that also contains a lounge and a sushi bar. The food itself is pretty good. I like the pizza. The drinks in the lounge, however, are ridiculously overpriced considering the absolute lack of alcohol in them. The one night I went there with my friends, the place was packed. Somehow we managed to acquire three barstools near the wall. We paid ~$10 each for drinks (2 Cosmos and a Tom Collins) and all 3 were very disappointing. We quickly left and headed to a bar over in Westchester Square.A second visit:My friends and I also went to brunch ($22.95 a person) and were very, very disappointed. Now, granted, it's an unlimited mimosa/bellini/champagne/bloody mary brunch, but all of those drinks were really, really bad. I skipped the alcohol and got orange juice that tasted like bad Tang. The waffles were floppy and gross and the rest of the food was just kinda blah although I was happy to get a slice of margherita pizza. At least the meal ended with our choice of cheesecake or cannoli..A third visit:My friends and I stopped in late Friday night. I got a glass of wine and an order of fried calamari. The calamari was okay, but not as good as Louie's Seafood's. I was a bit upset that the waitress overcharged us and then sort of had an attitude when we asked her to fix the mistake.

this restaurant is the only darn hip place in throggsneck. but !!!! there is always a but !!! lol, but, the food is getting expensive every year... the plate i use to buy two years ago has gone up $3 !! from 19.99 to 22.99!! and worse is that the food doesn't taste any better. now they have a sushi bar which is ok. the drinks are good. but i'm bored with this place already. i wish there was some competition :)xoxo

when this place first opened...it sucked. the ravioli was dry with giant leaves of basil in the sauce...the pizza was burnt...the drinks were overpriced.i avoided it like the plague for a few years and then went back for a work event, much to my surprise, the food tasted better! the pizza was properly baked, the ravioli was off the menu....the drinks were still overpriced. but i can deal with that! just feed me good food and i'll drink your expensive sangria that will knock you out after two. the decor is cool...old 50's/60's mod furniture, paper lanterns, dim lighting. waitstaff is pretty awesome, though it changes every week. they let my group sit at a table for about 7 hours one night (we kept ordering more food and drinks, but nothing that should've allowed us to stay that long).i recommend the pizza, the grilled calamari, skirt steak salad, and the vitello tosca.

I've only been here for drinks and apps but everything was very good. The atmosphere was nice it was casual and classy without being pretentious. You could hold a good convo here and it probably would make a great date place. We were inside because it was still winter but I've been meaning to make it back this summer.

Tosca is definitely one of the nicest places to dine or lounge in the Bronx. However I've been going here for years and the service is either hit or miss. The food itself is good although I tend to stick with same dish so I cant rate the rest of the menu. The crowd at the bar is probably one of the better ones you'll find in the Bronx. And honestly this is what keeps me going back to Toscas. This is one of the nicest restaurants I've been to in the Bronx. The service can be slow, but the nice vibe and decor is a plus. I've had the Chicken Parmigiana, Penne a la vodka, fried calamari, and the toasted almond dessert. They all tasted pretty good, but I've definitely had better. I would return though because I don't know of too many places in its league in the Bronx.I really like this place. It's great for a first date or when you and your sweetie just want to get out for a quick drink or dessert. My favorite spot in the place is in the back next to the electric fireplace. The dim lights gives it a romantic feel.On some nights they have belly dancers. I wasn't really feeling that part on my first date. But I dealt with it.Went here for an early lunch yesterday before diving headfirst into the fast-paced "scene" of Tremont, West Farms and Morrisania. Anyway, it was a very pleasant atmosphere: half inside, half outside, overlooking East Tremont Ave, which I guess is like Rodeo Drive if you were on crack - though this end isn't bad. The waitstaff was always around when you needed them, keeping the water glasses full, asking if you wanted more bread, cheese, etc. and the girls are cute - people have complained about the slow service, but I didnt think so (granted we were there early). The shrimp and calimari fra diavolo was spectacular - almost on par with the Pines, but the portions aren't that big (not saying they're small) and there were no doggy bags. My friend got the manicotti, which looked excellent, and their sauce didn't give me the runs, which is also a plus.I was wondering why a lot of the reviews have three stars. I found it to actually be a little better than that. The waiter my boyfriend and I had was actually very sweet and helpful. We got a great table in a little corner of the patio thing...so points for atmosphere! And the food was pretty good...though the clientele does have a collective horrible accent that I sincerely hope I don't have.
