I had gone to this place with my friends just a few weeks ago. We sat outside, which was great because it was one of those cool, breezy summer evenings. The food here was pretty good. I had the lasagna, which was good because it was cheesy, but could have had more meat. The bread was edible but a bit hard and burnt from being toasted. The tiramisu was delicious. It was creamy and you could tell that it had an authentic, made from scratch taste to it. The dessert wine was great. An excellent companion to the tiramisu. A friend of mine had a pizza which I thought was very tasty. I kind of like how the place is set up indoors with the lounge area. Very hip.  The bathroom was very clean. All in all, I would recommend this place to others, but I didn't give it five stars because of the parking. I mean, they do have valet parking, but what if you just want to park your car and not have to pay a valet, you know? I just ended up parking around the corner, which was kind of a hassle, but not too bad since a) the weather was nice, and b) the parking space wasn't far. Otherwise, Toscas is a great spot for family, friends, and/or a special someone ; )

I used to go here around once a week. Prices kept going up. Now they have Manhattan prices in the Bronx. Good Italian food, though. One really awful moment- a waitress spilled an entire tray of drinks on me. I was saturated head-to-toe and in no way could stay for my dinner. They offered to buy me dessert as compensation. Imagine, I would have to sit through dinner, then dessert absolutely saturated! They are clearly doing too well now and are starting to care less and less about their clientele. Haven't returned since. Go to Patricia's (just down the block) instead (718) 918-1800. Great Italian food at reasonable prices.

Tosca is a great place in Throgs Neck.  I've been there a few times and have not been disappointed.   Very nice ambiance, and very good food, and mildly unexpected for the neighborhood.

when this place first opened...it sucked.  the ravioli was dry with giant leaves of basil in the sauce...the pizza was burnt...the drinks were overpriced.i avoided it like the plague for a few years and then went back for a work event, much to my surprise, the food tasted better! the pizza was properly baked, the ravioli was off the menu....the drinks were still overpriced. but i can deal with that! just feed me good food and i'll drink your expensive sangria that will knock you out after two. the decor is cool...old 50's/60's mod furniture, paper lanterns, dim lighting.  waitstaff is pretty awesome, though it changes every week. they let my group sit at a table for about 7 hours one night (we kept ordering more food and drinks, but nothing that should've allowed us to stay that long).i recommend the pizza, the grilled calamari, skirt steak salad, and the vitello tosca.

This is a fantastic experience all around.  I have been there several times and I have never been disappointed.   Unlimited drinks, great pizza, fresh mozz, great atmosphere, and outstanding service.  I would recommend this place to anyone.

Great Atmosphere!! Bar or sitdown take a look if you are in the area. I've had the baked clams, chicken franchese, they also have great SUSHI...yes!!  I feel the prices are too high $10 drinks and the pitcher of sangria is $36...YIKES! I can go to Manhattan and pay less.

At approximately $30/person for a buffet style brunch with unlimited drinks, Tosca is a great place! I can seriously sit there for hours to take breaks between my plates and love that I've never felt rushed out. From the eggs, pizza, and mozzarella sticks to the penne a la vodka or chicken parmagiana, the brunch has always been a hit with me.The mix of seating options is great to satisfy different groups and moods. The food isn't the greatest but the overall experience is good.

Now this is a real gem in the Bronx. Just a few blocks from the Cross Bronx this Italian influence caf serves up good dinners and great desserts in a complexly design spot. The dinner area offers enough space in the Italian inspired room. You can then move to the more modern styled lounge area with full bar and delicious decadent desserts.  I hear they extended the place for a separate sushi bar.  Don't know if it's good or not.  I must try it next time.Added bonus: The waitresses are quite pleasantly distracting to the male eye.

Tosca is one of the few nicer restaurants in the Bronx.  It's an Italian restaurant that also contains a lounge and a sushi bar.  The food itself is pretty good.  I like the pizza.  The drinks in the lounge, however, are ridiculously overpriced considering the absolute lack of alcohol in them.  The one night I went there with my friends, the place was packed.  Somehow we managed to acquire three barstools near the wall.  We paid ~$10 each for drinks (2 Cosmos and a Tom Collins) and all 3 were very disappointing. We quickly left and headed to a bar over in Westchester Square.A second visit:My friends and I also went to brunch ($22.95 a person) and were very, very disappointed.  Now, granted, it's an unlimited mimosa/bellini/champagne/bloody mary brunch, but all of those drinks were really, really bad.  I skipped the alcohol and got orange juice that tasted like bad Tang.  The waffles were floppy and gross and the rest of the food was just kinda blah although I was happy to get a slice of margherita pizza.  At least the meal ended with our choice of cheesecake or cannoli..A third visit:My friends and I stopped in late Friday night.  I got a glass of wine and an order of fried calamari.  The calamari was okay, but not as good as Louie's Seafood's.  I was a bit upset that the waitress overcharged us and then sort of had an attitude when we asked her to fix the mistake.

Hard to rate...the pizza is actually really good from Tosca.  I do not get the context of the Sushi bar at all.  Not sure I like what they are going for there.  The atmosphere is strange...it wants to be upscale but for the neighborhood it is in, the drinks at the bar are way overpriced.  Plus everything aside from the pizza is garbage compared to what you can get at other restaurants in the general vicinity.  There's a very high concentration of douchebags thinking they are hooked up or trying to act connected, especially on the weekend at night.

I've only been here for drinks and apps but everything was very good. The atmosphere was nice it was casual and classy without being pretentious. You could hold a good convo here and it probably would make a great date place. We were inside because it was still winter but I've been meaning to make it back this summer.

Ok- So I've been here enough times to say that, on the whole, the food is pricey but good.   I've never really had a bad meal per se.  However....My problem with this place is the SERVICE.  While the waitstaff is mostly female and attractive, I never feel as though they are mature enough to project the 'Manhattan' style Tosca 'seems' to offer and  therein lies the rub.  LIke others have posted here, I too have had some really awful experiences with the staff and in fact, have changed my plans and gone elsewhere because it just isn't consistent.  I remember I once asked a waitress to have the chef add some bacon to my gnocchi and got a LOT of attitude.  In fact, when she said she would 'find out from the chef' for me- I saw her go to the back, stand with her arms folded and wait a few seconds, only to come back to say- 'It wasn't possible!?'   Needless to say, eventually, I got what I wanted, but had to make a fuss and it ruined the evening with my date.   Lately, I have notice a little better service, but still, I'm not holding my breath and will be on the look out for any alternatives to this faux Manhattan style hangout.   So far, I give a 50/50.

I only give it 3 stars because it's overpriced and the food isn't really spectacular.  There are definitely better and cheaper Italian food in the neighborhood. The atmosphere is amazing however, and why I come back.  It's a great place to remind people that the Bronx is not a bombed out mess!

I like Tosca's. Good sized bar and dining room. They have patio-area upstairs that is closed-in during the colder months for even more room. I've only ever dropped in, and have always gotten a table or a seat at the bar. The food is good. They have a mostly Italian menu, and randomly a sushi bar. I always end up sharing a few apps and one of their brick oven pizzas with friends. The martini's are plentiful but a bit overpriced. Stick with regular drinks. Tosca Cafe is a great place to meet a few friends for a drink or a quick bite. And their weekend brunches are a great way to spend a weekend morning.

The food is ok, menu is just like every other italian restuarant in the bronx just a bit more pricy. What I do recommend is the lounge area--something unique for the Bronx. Mondays they have Hookah nite--which entails belly dancers and free hookah is placed on your table to enjoy with friends. Lots of fun and something different. They serve sushi full bar which is ok.

How sad is this; I've ordered delivery from here thousands of times, no joke, but I've only dined here once. It was for my birthday two years ago; since it was warm in mid-September, we sat in the open patio, and had a couple of glasses of sangria, apps, and entrees. Now, since I had always done delivery, I had this notion that the food would be better now that I finally was sitting in the actual restaurant...but it wasn't.The Cesar salad was just as wack...croutons + sprinkle cheese (not the real parm-reg) + yellow romaine + bottle dressing does not equal a salad. The pasta dishes were on point as usual; large portions, decent prices, full of meat/veggies/sauce.The prices were a lil lower than the delivery prices, but I guess the increase is more of a gas surcharge than anything else. And that was that. I might come back...but more for the semi-swanky decor than the service. It was forgettable. As for delivery....NEVER ORDER;Shrimp Alfredo - white sauce over boiled shrimp = ANGER!Cesar salad - read aboveOrrichetti w/ broccoli rabe sausage - If I wanted undercooked sausage, I woulda did it myself.Sushi, period - my instincts told me not to order sushi from an Italian place, but I just had to try the new offerings. When it arrived (along side my sister's pasta) the sushi was pretty much COOKED, because they stored it in the same plastic bag, inside the insulating bag they use to keep deliveries warm. WTF?ALWAYS ORDER;Shrimp delight pizza - fresh mozz, crispy yet chewy crust, delish sauteed shrimp...AMAZINGToasted almond cake - this thing tastes like an upscale almond twinkie.Shrimp parm, in a fra diavalo sauce - think about a huge serving of shrimp parm...in a spicy tomato sauce...mmm.I'm told that on Monday nights, there's belly dancing, hookahs, and happy hour...but I have yet to attend.

My uncle doesn't like this place because they're "trying to be Manhattan." Well I say that's not a bad thing to aspire to. For the most part, Tosca's gets a lot of things right. It does have a trendy atmosphere, a trendy bar scene, and a trendy menu as well. The (mostly Italian) food is very good. I've never experienced the terrible service the other reviewers had, though on weekends, this place can get packed so the service may be less than stellar. It's a little pricier than other places in Throgs Neck, but no place compares in sophistication and ambiance

Not bad. If you're from the bronx and you want a nice place to go to to have drinks with friends; nothing too crazy. Located in the Throgsneck section of the bronx so it invites a mostly Italian crowd. The music is good. I heard the food is excellent but I never sampled. Parking is not always the easiest to find when you go though. Reasonably priced. You can sit and relax. Not the type of place where you're just standing shoulder to shoulder all night. Also, it's very easy to find.

Cool atmosphere, lots of different seating options. The place was moderately crowded on a Saturday night in the middle of the snowstorm, so it must be a pretty good option in the Bronx. We wanted a couch but they were all taken, but a little table in the closed-in patio area was perfect. I wouldn't exactly call this place the best bang for your buck. The food is mostly... italian I guess? But they also have sushi? Its good, really good at 2am, but overpriced. The martinis are also tiny and anywhere from $10-$14 each. The music is pretty awesome. I would definitely come back here, especially with a big group.

I was wondering why a lot of the reviews have three stars. I found it to actually be a little better than that. The waiter my boyfriend and I had was actually very sweet and helpful. We got a great table in a little corner of the patio thing...so points for atmosphere! And the food was pretty good...though the clientele does have a collective horrible accent that I sincerely hope I don't have.

Went here for an early lunch yesterday before diving headfirst into the fast-paced "scene" of Tremont, West Farms and Morrisania.  Anyway, it was a very pleasant atmosphere: half inside, half outside, overlooking East Tremont Ave, which I guess is like Rodeo Drive if you were on crack - though this end isn't bad.  The waitstaff was always around when you needed them, keeping the water glasses full, asking if you wanted more bread, cheese, etc. and the girls are cute - people have complained about the slow service, but I didnt think so (granted we were there early).  The shrimp and calimari fra diavolo was spectacular - almost on par with the Pines, but the portions aren't that big (not saying they're small) and there were no doggy bags.  My friend got the manicotti, which looked excellent, and their sauce didn't give me the runs, which is also a plus.

I really like this place.  It's great for a first date or when you and your sweetie just want to get out for a quick drink or dessert.  My favorite spot in the place is in the back next to the electric fireplace.  The dim lights gives it a romantic feel.On some nights they have belly dancers. I wasn't really feeling that part on my first date. But I dealt with it.

This is one of the nicest restaurants I've been to in the Bronx. The service can be slow, but the nice vibe and decor is a plus. I've had the Chicken Parmigiana, Penne a la vodka, fried calamari, and the toasted almond dessert. They all tasted pretty good, but I've definitely had better. I would return though because I don't know of too many places in its league in the Bronx.

Tosca is definitely one of the nicest places to dine or lounge in the Bronx.  However I've been going here for years and the service is either hit or miss.  The food itself is good although I tend to stick with same dish so I cant rate the rest of the menu. The crowd at the bar is probably one of the better ones you'll find in the Bronx.  And honestly this is what keeps me going back to Toscas.
