So I am assuming this is for the town, as a whole. Well hold on because this is going to be a long ride! Too many good things to say.Winthrop...well its a mix of everything, and borders Boston and Revere, has one main road in and out, has beaches, restaurants, parking, low rents! Winthrop is a small town of about 20,000 peeps, and in it are of course townies who are usually super friendly. Many of us commute to downtown Boston for work, our commute times can be anywhere from 25 mins to an hour depending on the time you leave. We have a lovely bus that takes us to the blue line Orient Heights, however, my beef with the bus is they are contracted by the MBTA, but you cannot use your pass on them, so have 90 cents or $1 ready to go!There are many neighborhoods such as winthrop beach, crystal cove, cottage park, center, the highlands, governors park and I am sure more that I am missing. You can get really beachy (meaning a little run down but not bad) to very coastal (think cape cod) to rich homes in the highlands with their ocean views or cottage park with their city/harbor views.What to do? Go to the beach, Yirrell and Winthrop Beach are the 2 main ones. Go to Deer Island and walk the perimeter, you won't be bombarded with thousands of inconsiderate city folk. Parks: Fort Heath, Coughlin Park etc. Go out to eat! Shirley st has many restaurants D'Parma, Alia, Gary's, Panini's, Hi Tide, Twist and Shake, the chinese place! The center has a Morroccan restaurant Kasbah, some more chinese, Paesans...La Siesta! I can't go on, too many hidden treasures.There isn't much for night life, but Kasbah can get rowdy fun, plus they have hookah and belly dancers. Also, if you want a house party there are at least 4 liquor stores near everyone's apartment, come on over!Dunkin Donuts...well there are 2. I hate one of them, the one when you just enter Winthrop, because everyone THINKS they have to go to that one and try to make a mad dash over the border. It causes massive traffic every morning, I hope it falls into the harbor.What are the greatest things about living here? Cheaper rents for more space, easy parking, proximity to Boston, peace and quiet, clean, historical, coastal, cute, public transport...Need I say more? (I probably will).
