Awesome club/restaurant/hookah bar. 3 levels with the restaurant on the first, the hookah bar on the 2nd and the dance club at the bottom. Crowd is mainly Persian and Arab and they do know how to party. They also have belly dancing on the weekends. Pretty cool place to come chill, smoke some shishah , enjoy some kabobs and dance and drink .

This place is so much fun, you can drink, dance, eat, and be entertained. Plus a lot of people don't realize it's like two clubs in one. If you need to relax from the fast paced arab music go to the other side of the club and you will find hip hop. I love going here especially with a lot of people, it doesn't matter if your lebanese, american,  or hispanic, this place is fun for everyone.

I thinking hookah is very relaxing social entertainment. The hookah is way cheaper than the Velevet Hookah downtown, $15 and they come around with coals about every 20 min. or so. Our's lasted 2 hours. The restaurant/bar has a dress code so I was banished to the patio with all the highschool kids with my shorts and flipflops(FYI). The place seems cool and I want to go back with a larger group to get the feast for four for $70. Has anyone had this? Pretty good place but nicer than what I was expecting. I would like to know where these other hookah lounges that Khalid speaks of are?

It's a club, it's a restaurant, it's a smoking lounge. Al Amir's got everything under one roof. Every time I've been here is for Shisha though which is much pricier than the other lounges in the area. But the music they play here is awesome and the dance floor is full of hotties :) Had Mint tea and Baklava here as well. Nice but expensive entertainment!

Went to Al-Amir with a group of about 15-20. Had a few drinks to start off: Makers Manhattan was definitely not worth the $8.50, but the French Martini was pretty good not too sweet. Main course was lamb w/ roasted veggies, $17. Lamb meat was cheap, and over-cooked. They kept raising the volume on the music, which made it hard to hear other people. Belly dancers were a nice touch, but not easy to see from most vantage points. Overall the atmosphere seemed seedy, and at the end of the night we had to wait an unbelievable amount of time for our bills, and they didn't even knock a drink or two off of them for our trouble. Would not go back here again. If you want decent Mediterranean food, go to Fadi's.

First of all, I HATE SMOKE, but I will smoke Al Amir's apple tobacco in a fancy hookah until I pass out.  It is deliciously cool and fills me with happiness.  Secondly, the food is outstanding - strange and interesting spices are used on dishes I have never heard of before, but bravery pays off.  I've never tasted a bad dish here.  To top it all off, there is a dance floor where belly dancers serenade you at every meal.  Make sure you give them a tip, because it is so much harder than they make it look!  Can't wait to go back!

Friday night the service and the food was very good.  I think the group I was with managed to sample most of the menu and there were smiles all around, with one exception.  There are only two desert offerings.  The Baklava Ice cream Cake is delicious, but plan to share.  It is almost 1/4 lb of ice cream, plus plenty of whipped cream. However, the cashew fingers were not of the same quality as the rest of the menu.  One guest described its as "sheet rock with whipped cream" and it did not look much more appetizing than that description, though I usually like pirouettes, which I think these were supposed to be.The other detractors were the front door staff and the game room/bar.  With one of our party in a wheel chair and steps everywhere not a single one of the brawny men at the door offered any assistance with helping us lift him so he could join the table.  Nor were they willing to open a side door to give him access to the bar.  The music in the bar is droning techno-rap, not the delighful arab music from the rest of the restaurant.  And the hooka menu is limited, more expensive than anywhere else in town and on this occassion the double Apple was heavily tinged with licorice for some reason.  The other drawback is that if you were not already dining there, a $10 cover kicks in for the bar, though I have no idea how they justify it.One last comment.... the belly dancers performance.  Not the best.  There are better dancers at most middle eastern clubs around them the metroplex and the first dancer's choreography made me wonder if she was a student.

I went here for my birthday. They have belly dancers, hookah, and a small bar area where you can dance the night away. This is a great place for groups and special events. Overall we had a lot of fun and alot of good food.

If you are looking for some good Lebanese food, go to Al Amir's.  The decor is a little kitschy, but the food is fantastic.  When we went, we had hummus, tabouli, garlic chicken, and the beef kabob.  All of it was good, prepared like you'd find in a Lebanese home.  The rice they serve is exactly how my step family serves it.  Next time I go, I'm trying the spinach pie. After dinner, we indulged in a hookah.  If you love hookahs, try one here.

I am a little biased since I know one of the dancers here, but it really is a nice place.   There are two levels... the top level being more restaurant seating with a nice dance floor, lights and mirrors... plus a lower level with a larger bar, another dance floor, DJ booth and hookah, if you like to smoke. They are open til 2am which is GREAT and have bellydance shows nightly...to the best of my knowledge.   They also had some nice martini specials on the Thursday night we were there, and an amateur bellydance contest on Sundays. The food was good.  I tried their baba ganouj, salad with feta cheese, and their Fatteh (chicken with tahini sauce over rice and pita)  All were very good.   The baba ganouj in particular was nice and smokey.  My dining companions said the beef kabobs were delicious and so was the chef salad.  Not your usual chef salad.. this came with loads of sauteed seasoned chicken and feta... and it was huge.   Very reasonable prices here for the amount of food you get.    The baklava ice cream cake seemed to be good as well, judging by all the eye rolling and carrying on.  ;)I will definitely return next time I'm in the area.  Be sure to catch Tamrahenna's show if possible.  She is a wonderful entertainer.PS:  Tip the dancers!

Alamir's really holds a special place in my heart.I go downstairs, I believe now it's called Alamirs II?  for shisha and some drinks.  They have great fries, which are actually sorta different every time I go... haha.  So who knows if they still serve them.  I remember on some nights they have belly dancing, which they would charge cover for most of the time.

Pretty decent for a lunch place... Large spread for a buffet and lots of options for vegetarians (in fact a lot more options for vegetarians!). I love the usual suspects hummus, baba ganouj, taboule, etc. What particularly caught my interest was the huge shank of lamb which they had available for an all you can eat! Now that's something which you don't see very often (they also had fried chicken but I'll pretend that I didn't see that :) ). I quite enjoyed the rice they had along with the various gravies in their dishes (ocra, lamb leg). Overall nice fresh pita bread and good quality of food in general ranks this at a solid 3 stars. The baklava (my current favorite sweet) was decent as well.Edit: This was at their new Addison location.

My first impression as we approached the front door was "Did the place get shut down?"  The front has a run-down appearance.  I think it must have formerly been what people in the 70's called a "supper club."  Very dark interior with a tiered dining area and cheesy mirrors.    The food was ok but overpriced.  Our waitress cleared our table by setting down a stack of dirty plates she was already carrying and piling on our plates.  She managed to leave pieces of someone else's uneaten salad on our table.

Al Amir is a great place to have dinner dance the night away with your friends.I should know I had my birthday party here it was great!Sometimes the service gets a bit slow but its understandable cause the place is usually packed.Everyone I hang out with there ends up loving the food. I have had the garlic chicken kabobs and I think I'm going to stick with the kabobs although the chicken was tasty. There is also vegetarian fare if you are so inclined. The most cost effective thing to do is to purchase the bottle if you want to sample the wine. The atmosphere is fun and genuine.  There are no pretentious people here.People are there simply to have a good time so you can dress up if you want to but its really cause you feel like it not just for trying to be ostentatious for the sake of it.I really come here to dance because they always have the music pumping, the people on the dance floor are cool and the d.j. changes up the music enough so you get a very international mix to groove to.

I found Al-Amir to be very unique. The staff and service was prompt and the food was pretty reasonable. As a whole, the menu pricing is relatively cheap...they had belly-dancing (I'd suggest figuring out dance times and making sure you finish your food before it starts). We were unprepared when all of the sudden the belly-dancer was at our table in the middle of conversation and eating dinner...a little weird. I ordered falafel which was a bit bland (disappointing). +++Be sure to order the Turkish Coffee! Really strong and served in a legit Lebanese coffee pot.Later, we went downstairs for peach hookah. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday night but it may have just been early.

Is "eh" a word in Lebanese Arabic? Eh. Eh. Eh. Al Amir has a fantastic lunch buffet that is reasonably priced and offers all kinds of Middle Eastern cuisine that comes in an all-you-can-eat package (perfect for Texas, right?). Its a great spot to have a business lunch and impress your colleagues with your knowledge of babaganou... ba... eggplant. At dinner it gets more expensive, the mojito I had was $9. That is a rip off, even for Addison. The drink menu does not have prices on it at Al Amir for a reason, I guess. Most of the dinner entrees will run $15-$20 and it's basically the same stuff that is on the lunch buffet for a cheaper price. The appetizers brought to the table were frozen on the inside, and were also overpriced. They have belly dancers on the weekend, which I can only determine is a woman who waves her arms around with little clinky things and makes for awkward moments as you're trying to have a conversation at your table. Speaking of conversation, the music is too loud on the weekends to really have one. That being said, if you want to go out in a bar or nightclub atmosphere, that works great. Just don't expect a quiet dinner here on a Saturday night. Overall, I was dissapointed in the dinner (1 star for it) and satisfied with the lunch (5 stars) so i'm splitting the difference. If you buy your shirts at Aeropostale, shine your iphone every 4 minutes, and have a fake coach wallet you bought at a flea market in San Antonio, this is the perfect bar for you.
