Happy go-lucky househeads from all over the world unite! Kismet Lounge provides the *best* in dance experience Friday nights in the heart of Dallas's Lower Greenville area. They play European Dance, House, Trance, Latin, Tribal, Michael Jackson, Hip Hop, and anything that will make you bounce all over the dance floor till you pass out or decide to take a 5 minute hookah break. I would recommend the banana bake hookah. The crowd at Kismet is mixed, you will find people from all walks of life, all friendly, not shady in the least. This is my favorite Friday haunt for the perfect blend for the size of venue, music and ambiance in Dallas. Cover is usually ~ $10 but free for ladies on some nights - even better if you ask me!

first time here for a friend' birthday party Saturday night. since it was still early i can't really tell you if it was the happening place or not. i ordered "Pink in the Middle" from the bar (i think that is what the bartender called it). it was good...probably mixed of vodka, something berry, etc....I saw a couple of Hookahs out and bout. i didn't try it. maybe next time i will get to stay longer and truly experience Kismet's nightlife.

Love at first sound was at Kismet, never before had I been to a "lounge" that played such wonderful fusion beats from around the world and had such a cool vibe.I caused a stir among the crowd as I danced, not because of my dance moves but because apparently everyone there was confused over my body jewelry, was it a belly change? a belt?? a group finally came up to me and I had to break the news to them that it was just a mere belly ring..to which my cousin Jennifer T. replied ya you guys remember those right, from back then...Kissmet is like a long lost love for me, and one I am still seeking for in Los Angeles.

Fun atmosphere, but the waitress was aloof.  There were plenty of times we made eye contact, but she would pretend not to see and look the other way.  When I finally got her attention, she was nice enough... quite strange.  Their hookah is on the pricey side at $20, even charging for extra charcoal (I've never seen that before).  But hookah is fun, so I had to get one. The crowd was a diverse group, possibly as a result of the latin music they focued on that night.  The real estate is limited, so as the night wore on, the place got very crowded and a trip to the bathroom would become a journey.

Every time I have been to the Kismet Lounge I have a good time. The club itself is rectangular, and one side is dedicated to tables and couches that are low to the ground and loaded up with cushions. If you are going to the Kismet on a Friday or Saturday night, many times these tables are reserved, but they will let you have one until the party that reserved them arrives. The plus side is sometimes that party never shows up. The ceiling looks like it's dark blue velvet, and that is punctuated with little lights that make the ceiling look like a star-filled night sky. It's a pretty cool effect. The music is GOOD. They play European dance music, as well as some other styles, but it's never the cheesy dance music some clubs play. The crowd is a mix of different types of people and and races and generally everyone I've ever struck up random conversation with has been really friendly. Aside from booze, you can also purchase a hookah. I've sampled the mixed fruit tobacco and it was pretty smooth. Just don't try to run a marathon the day after you smoke a hookah. Your lungs will put you on their shit-list.I've been there with groups of friends and on dates and The Kismet is a good place for both. It's a club, so you'll have to pay club prices for booze, but it's still not as expensive as other places in town and probably has a much better atmosphere.

Rolled through Kismet last night with a few friends for what I thought was going to be a low key night.  I like this place, but last night was a bit much.No complaints on the hookah, was as expected; good.  Drinks, no complaints, decently strong and good service replacing the empty ones.  Place was pretty slow, with a large group for a bday being the majority of the patrons.  Music....HORRIBLE.  If you're into the techno revolution, you may like it.  But not my cup of tea.  They played a few hip hop and salsa songs that got us dancing around, but the majority of the music was a little too much for me.  Maybe it's different on other nights, but I don't frequent this place so I have no idea.  Overall I had a good time.  Music wasn't my fav, but what do ya do. It's hit or miss sometimes...

I dont review many bars, but I wanted to give my 2 cents on this place since I have lived off Greenville Ave for a few years now and never been inside until this past weekend.  Which is odd, since I rarely venture far from my house, hitting up Lakewood/Henderson/Greenville ave on a regular basis...  Anyway, I wasnt planning to go out, period (IT WAS SO COLD!!) but some friends of ours were here for a birthday party and we had just had dinner nearby.  I decided to stop in for "a drink" to ultimately make fun of the place and then leave in time to catch the end of SNL on the couch in my PJs.However, upon entry (free for the ladies, woo!) I was intrigued by the cool patio --with fireplaces, beds and benches-- outside and the cool sparkling, 'starlit' ceiling, inside.  Since it's a hookah bar it automatically smells amazing, although I'm not big on putting my mouth on things that get passed around in bars night after night.  ew!  how many random Dallas lips do you want to make contact with for a toke of berry tobacco??Anyway, our group had a table just inside the door, which provided ample space for 10+ people to hang out, make drinks, and puff on the aforementioned hookahs.  The rest of us hung out near the bar, which was well staffed (no wait for drinks!) and danced to the sweet tunes the DJ was throwing out.  Great club atmosphere, very fun vibe with a diverse mix of people.  Yes, you will think you just walked into an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians but everyone's having a great time and looking good doing it.  It did get really crowded as the night went on, but when we arrived just before midnight it was easy to move around and chat with everyone in our large group.  This is definitely not the kind of place that we frequent, but I can say I hope we'll ba back! It's a great place for a girls' night out....who knew such a place existed on Greenville?!

I had a great time here.  Why you ask?  Okay I'll tell you!  The crowd was great, everyone was dancing, bartenders were great, no weird ego problems going on there.  DJ was great,  Cool morroccan atmosphere. Why did I give a 4?  The place is supposed to be a cool place with dance music and all that for a more chill crowd, but they still charge guys going in.  It was 10 bucks.  I don't think it's worth it, but we had to settle on a place!  It was getting late.

Older crowd but I don't mind. There are about a dozen or so tables that line the outer marker of the lounge, like a horseshoe with the bar on the opposite side. I like this place cause the music is always pumping and its ever changing style makes it appeal to a larger audience. My only complaint about this place is the prices of the drinks. GF ordered a Vodka Cranberry which was poured with house vodka and still over $8 without a tip, and the pour was weak. I was even asked to taste it since we couldn't taste any Vodka. None the less this place was pretty hopping on the Friday night we went, but it didn't start t really pick up until about 1130pm. They do Valet for about $6 w/o tip if you are unable or uneasy about parking on Gville Ave.

Kismet's DJ knows what's going on. The entire night my friend and I were there, I was consistently impressed by the music, changing smoothly from Flo Rida to the theme from Fresh Prince of Bel Air to 80s tunes. The decor was beautiful, with light-up stars on the ceiling!Drinks were on the expensive side, but the bartenders were nice and gave us free bottled water. Valet was $6.The crowd was quite a bit older (I'm talking about quite a few middle aged balding men), but it would have been a really fun place had we had more people with us.Overall, Kismet is nice for a big group, not so much eye-candy-liscious for a girl's night out on the town.

Besides Kismet, can you name one night lounge in the Dallas area  that has not changed its name, location, or gone out of business in the last 9 years ? Most likely the answer is NOFor that one reason it deserves the 4 Stars!! Consistency is the name of the game at Kismet! Pick any day of the week (yeap Tue and Wed too) ,anytime of the year, you can be assured of a good time. There are days  when you're not sure which place is going on, then you just need to head to Kismet!! Though it does not have a designated dance floor,  if the place is packed be ready to experience ppl dancing all around you and here is a Tip -  carry an empty glass and within a few seconds you can treat yourself with a free drink from spillovers :))
