I am not sure why this is just a bakery, when they are actually a full service restaurant. They have amazing falafal! They also have a really tasty lunch buffet, but it's like thirteen dollars per person, which is pretty expensive in my opinion. It would be more reasonable at around 9 dollars a person. Service is so-so, but they are nice there. Just a little slow sometimes. BUT, the food is totally worth it. This is a super place for vegetarians to eat, they have a large selection of veggie friendly foods.

This place is a hidden gem for vegans. If you like middle eastern food you need to check it out. They make the best hummus pita bread I have ever eaten. Be careful and don't burn your fingers, the bread comes fresh out of the oven :) Of course their falafel sandwich Fattoush salad is yummy too. My husband and I are also addicted to their spicy pickles... 2 people get more than enough food for about $25. Give it a try!!

This is a quaint little place off of Main street. I got to try it out on a whim and boy was I surprised! I absolutely loved it. Their chicken shawarma is terrific as is their falafel. What struck me about their shawarma sandwich was that it comes wrapped with french fries, which definitely adds a unique twist (Almost Primanti Brothers-esque from Pittsburgh). I also have to make a special mention for the host (Aayad) who was incredibly hospitable. Not only did he take a personal interest in what me and my wife liked/disliked to make a recommendation, but when I asked him for dessert, he gave us a generous assortment of their baklava completely on the house since it was our first time there! The baklava constituted the highlight of the evening because each and every piece was literally like a little bit of heaven! Unbelievably fresh and absolutely soaked in honey. There are a host of different types too (pistachio, cashew, almonds). Needless to say we thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and we are most definitely hooked for the future.

Another passbook success!Roomie and I had the falafel sandwich and chicken schwarma sandwich with a buy one, get one. Delicious. Perfectly cooked and spiced and laced with that damn addictive sauce! What are you, mystery sauce?! And how can I get more of you?! We ordered two pistachio (don't go with any other nut - just trust me) baklava pieces.$8 for both of us to have sandwiches and dessert. OH YEAH. Holy shisha, Batman!Afrah knocked my socks off today. My boyfriend and I have stopped in to this… It's hard to find a place opened late if you want some dessert but this place comes pretty close to a great find. I was supposed to meet my best friend here but missed him by a few minutes. He was the one who recommended this place so the guy I came with and I decided we'd just try the dessert since we were already there. We chose the 2-scoop gelatto with Mango and Strawberry as our flavors. The portion was decent and my total was $3.24. The mango was delicious and creamy. The strawberry was a bit too tart for me but nevertheless was good.Atmosphere was homely and vacant - but then again we were there at 10:30pm on a Thursday evening. The staff was very friendly and went so far as to hand us a note that had been left for us by our friend we had missed. The Lady's restroom was DISGUSTING. Imagine gas station on the side of the highway x 100. There was urine on the toilet seat as well as the on the floor around it. Yuckkk. I'm cringing as i write this. Needless to say, the dessert was good, the amenities...not so much. And that is why it lost a star. so in summation:Good: Late night, Desserts, HookahBad: Restrooms, LocationHole in the wall place. It's a must try place! Chicken Shawarma sandwich is my favorite there. I would have random cravings for their sandwiches and plates. Hummus is excellent. They have buffet during lunch time. It's like homemade-mediterranean food. You want to try something different. This is the place to eat at. Staff is nice and friendly! We went out with friends. They like Afrah. We like our friends. So, we went to Afrah. The food was bad. But, they are still our friends. The End.The wife's beef shawarma was dried out and gristly.  My lamb kafta skewer was dry.  The pita and garlic sauce were good, but unfortunately, you can't make a meal out of pita and sauce.  Perhaps Afrah is better known for the pastries or hookah, but Fadi's and Ali Baba's are much better for the food.

I love love love this place. They have great schwarma, falafel, salad, hummus, gelato.. I don't think I've had anything that wasn't amazing here. I liked their lunch specials better than the current buffet, but its still really good. Their flat bread is awesome too. Only downside is you can't order a beer or glass of wine..

With so many great Asian and Indian options flanking it in every direction, Afrah kept getting kicked a notch down on my list of  to-try places when in Richardson.  Tonight wasn't the best night to sample it with the first snow in Dallas that I can remember in forever.  Despite the inclement weather, there was still a handful of people on the patio, in winter coats, smoking hookas.  I chose indoors and had the combo platter with lamb kebabs and kafta with a side of baba ganoush and fries (sue me, I was craving fries).  All in all, the portions were sizeable and the quality fair.  After my meal, I wasn't up to trying the pistachio baklava I had heard so much about, unfortunately, but will be back to try it soon on that patio on the next 70 something sunny day.

I've been dining at Afrah for 4 years. They have all the usual middle eastern fare, and some excellent desserts. I personally recommend the beef shawarma plate. Also they have a nice patio/terrace where you can smoke hookahs late. Service is for the most part friendly, although I have had some strange encounters. This is a good place to relax, sip tea, and smoke!
