Wonderful little departure from the standard TexMex off Belt Line.  Try the Korean BBQ or the Spicy Edaname.

Tried this tonight based on the reviews. I ate at the bar and Ryan the tender took good care of me. The $3 martinis were quite good.I had the duck spring roll and the seared tuna. The duck was excellent; tonight the tuna was overcooked for my liking.Great space and  a good happy hour crowd. The restaurant was empty - help them out!Steve

First thought walking in was wow, it's pretty! Nice decor and atmosphere, seems like a good date place. We ordered the taste 1 appetizer plate which had traditional spring rolls, egg rolls, shrimp toasts, and mango papaya salad. I loved the mango salad, it was sooo fresh and tasty with peanuts, basil, and shrimp bringing it all together. The spring rolls were ok, but I am not usually a fan of them anywhere. Too much noodle inside. The egg rolls were good and I liked the jalapeno vingarette to dip it in (even though it's not spicy!). The shrimp toast was good. Something I would probably never order, but I am glad they were on the platter.I also had a thai soup to start with and it was way too salty. It had a good amount of chicken, mushroom, and tomato, but the broth was just too overpowering. I wish I hadn't have ordered it.For the main course we tried the shaking beef. I was impressed with the fresh and crunchy long beans, juicy tomato, and tender beef. It was not really spicy though, but I still enjoyed it. And it is huge! Definitely enough for 2 regular eaters or 3 small eaters. It's moderately priced, the entrees are about $15, but they are all pretty large so it's best to share. Also, want to note that the service was excellent. I thought our waitress was really cool.

The place is decorated well it looks like a hookah joint.  I love sushi and love trying out new restaurants. With that being said, the wait staff were unfamiliar with the menu, my sushi fell apart, and was sightly warm as if it were sitting out a little too long.  My wife's "rib plate" was 50% bone and 30% fat.  $60 crappy meal.Bottom line Food quality 2 of 10, decor 9 of 10.Do Not Eat Here

Holy Happy Hour! Dude, this place has a great happy hour. Located north of 635, I would be hard pressed to find a reason to go here normally but I was meeting my buddies and decided to make the trek.Their happy hour special goes on in the bar/lounge area. We got there early and took over a couch and three chairs and started ordering drinks. I was drinking $1.50 Michelob Ultra (for tall drafts) and my buddies were drinking inexpensive happy hour house wine. We ordered some of the spicy edamame and one of each of the rolls each, the chicken satay and the dumplings, one order of fried and one order of steamed. I can't remember the exact prices, but i do remember the rolls being in the $3 range and the chicken satay were less than $2. Word. The rolls were a little small-- maybe "normal" sized because I'm so used to the huge rolls served everywhere else and I have definitely had better. Not bad, but I've had better elsewhere. We also ordered a couple of their specialty spring rolls from the regular menu and they were fresh and yummy. We had a vegan amongst us and she was definitely able to find food she was able to eat. Come to find out, this is one of her favorite spots for lunch because they have such a nice, vegan friendly menu. All in all, for 3 tall beers and sharing of 4 rolls, 2 orders of dumplings, 2 orders of chicken satay, and edamame... my total was $17. The server even split up the bill for us... putting the vegan's food and wine on one ticket and then putting each individual girl's drinks and then 1/4 of the remainder of food on each ticket. Dude. I tipped her $5 just for doing that. All in all, good service, fun atmosphere, great happy hour prices... I might be willing to go north of the bubble again!

I freely admit that I am a snob.  I'm not the type with an upturned nose, but I have expectations and I'm not happy if they are not met.Sushi falls in to that category. And this sushi restaurant failed miserably.Item One: please spell edamame correctly.  It is not spelled "edaname".  I think someone fat-fingered the keyboard and the misspelling propagated to the point that the waiter called it "edaname".Item Two: when asked specifically if you want spicy or regular "edaname", and told that we want regular edamame, don't deliver the spicy version.Item Three: sushi rice, to the best of my knowledge, is blended with vinegar.Item Four: nigiri sushi should contain a swipe of wasabi paste.Item Four B: nigiri sushi without wasabi paste or vinegar rice just doesn't taste quite right.Item Five: When dealing with two sushi orders for a table of six, make sure both orders go in at the same time so that they can be delivered to the table at the same time.  And be prompt in delivering them to the table so both orders are cold.Item Six: Make sure the men's restroom has a sign.  Going in to the restroom area and seeing two doors (both alike in dignity) with the one on the left labeled Women's, and the one on the right without a label, it is uncomfortable to have to make an assumption and press ahead.Item Seven: MAKE SURE THE MEN'S ROOM HAS SOAP.  AND IF YOU WORK THERE, YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT YOU HAVE TO WASH YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP.  This is a violation of Texas Department of Health standards for restaurants.Item Eight: When the urinal in the men's room needs a new flush valve, REPLACE THE VALVE.  Don't put a cute sign up that says "I'm old, and if you pull my handle up to flush, I'll flush, but if you do anything else, you'll get your feet wet."  Just replace the fricken' valve!Item Nine: A couple of items were ordered but not delivered and no explanation was received.  We were not billed for them, so that's marginally acceptable.  An explanation would have been preferred, perhaps with the offering of something else as a replacement.Item Ten: Tea and water glasses went unfilled for far longer than I consider acceptable.  I'm from Phoenix originally, I drink A LOT of liquid and want my glass filled on a regular basis.  Though no one wants a hovering waiter, the restaurant and lounge were not nearly busy enough to not keep our glasses filled. We ate there on a Saturday night at 7pm.  It wasn't very busy.  We did have a party of six, which I don't consider exceptionally large, yet it still kicked in the automatic 15% tip.  This is probably a good thing, because otherwise I would have given the guy 10% and I normally tip 20% or more: he just got the pre-calculated tip.Two good things about our meal: one of our party had a chicken entre called, IIRC, Firefly Chicken.  The sample that I had was quite good.  Also, my wife ordered pot stickers, something that's a regular appetizer for us.  It, too, was quite good, as was the dipping sauce.  So that's two positive things about it, but that does nothing to counter the overwhelming negatives. This restaurant has two problems.  One: management, to me, doesn't take delivering good sushi seriously, witnessed by the non-standard way they prepare their sushi rice and their spelling of edamame.  Two: the waiter didn't take his job seriously for properly attending to the needs of his clientele.  Combine the two together, and I was seriously not impressed.  I've had better pre-made sushi from Japanese fast food restaurants and grocery stores, and we paid an average of $40 a head for this place.I doubt that I will be returning to this place a year from now.  Unless they mend their ways (assuming that the locals have some discrimination), I would be surprised if they're open a year from now. Here's the thing that really irks me: we had originally talked about doing a Cajun/Creole restaurant for dinner tonight, but people balked at the $30 average cost for a plate of food, instead suggesting sushi.  I knew we'd be looking at $30-50 a head for that, we did it anyway.  I really wish we'd done the Cajun place.  There is one thing that I can say in a positive way about this place: it was quiet, so three conversations could be had with no difficulties hearing what was going on.  And that's about it.I've had good sushi in several places across the country.  I've had sushi that wasn't so good in several places across the country.  But I've never had sushi quite like this before.  I've had traditional sushi, I've had modern Americanized sushi.  I've had sushi that was crusted in pecans and deep-fried.  But if this is their interpretation of modern Asian/American fusion, I don't want it.

I expected this to be a Vietnamese joint, but it's more of a sushi (or let's say maki) restaurant. I expected it to be crowded on a Friday night, but there was almost no one there.  When I walked inside, it looked more like a pub where I could sit down for a couple of beers than an "Asian fusion" joint to munch on "Asian fusion" food.I ordered the spring rolls that were stuck together, probably because the rice paper was kinda dry.  My date and I had to work together to rip them apart, but neither of us could the rolls intact after they were separated. The entree we ordered contained green peppers, mangoes, prawns, and pineapples.  I was disappointed that they didn't put enough prawns to balance it out.  All in all, I don't mind coming there again, but probably not for dinner.  I may try again for happy hour.

We went here on a Friday night after finding this place in the Entertainment Book, and it was empty, even around 7:30 - which who cares if the place is empty as long as they have good food, right?  Well - Firefly didn't really do much to excite the taste buds unfortunately.  The place was just 'ok'.  We ordered the cubed filet mignon with green beans, and it was nothing special - pretty bland.  This, after our server told us that it was probably the best dish they served.  Didn't get to try the sushi here so don't know if that's any better. On a positive note, our server was really knowledgeable and nice, and the place also gets points for a nice setup/decor.  Bottom line - there are better options out there, especially around Addison, and even though it was 'ok' I probably wouldn't go back here unless I had another Entertainment Book Coupon.
