I've been down here a couple times by myself and had a good time.  People are friendly and it was easy to strike up conversations with people around the bar or at tables.  I love the subdued lightning and comfy seats.  The fireplace is great and the jukebox is filled with great hits.  It has a very relaxing feel to it.Drinks are a little on the expensive side.  The pizza is supposed to be great and I had a slice from another customer and really liked it.  I'll update once I go down again and get my own.  Parking could get a little tricky when it's packed.  It's right in the middle of the neighborhood so you'll find a lot of locals there who walked from their house.

After several years of loyal Cosmo's patronage, I learned two new things this weekend.  One, Jackson's name finally stuck.  Go figure.  Two, Jackson makes a mean ass Dirty Martini.  And by dirty I really mean pornographic.  With nipples and all.  Wait.  Maybe those were Charlize Theron's nipples on the TV.  Whatever.I don't usually consider myself a cocktail girl, but Jackson and his bartending compadre (c'mon, one name at a time folks) managed to shake up the best Dirty Martinis I've ever had.  And they were only $7 a pop.  Either I'm getting way too used to overinflated Dallas cocktail prices or I've just fallen in love with Cosmo's all over again.  Considering I just drooled on my keyboard thinking about my new precious (preeeeciousssss)...I'm going with the latter. I've been coming to Cosmo's for years and didn't even know it.  That just proves that Lakewood…

there was a rumor the pixies had been removed from their jukebox.in which case, this review was going to be negative stars.  however, i personally verified they have not, or at the very least came to their senses.  the jukebox has something for everyone.  the only problem with that is, you're going to hear some shit you don't like too.  like maybe really don't like.  its part of the deal.good drinking bar.  eclectic crowds match their eclectic jukebox.dark, comfortable (if you get a couch), small.  very relaxed.pizza is way overrated.  i mean don't get me wrong.  it is good when you're drunk and decent when you're not.... but it's not even in the top 25 dallas pizzas.... in my humble opinion of course.

Being that every single weekend I am either here or wanting to go here, I have to up my star rating to the highest because it is clear that I love this bar almost more than my own house.  The surly waitress is even nice to me now because I practically live there.  GOD I love Cosmos. One of my fave dives, and not only because I can walk there and stumble home.  It has a cool, mod…

cool place..like everyone else said it's very laid back..good music etc.unfortunately i just got off of work when my friends were going and i didn't have dinner yet :( i saw they had a menu (yay!) and they had pizza (yay!) i figured if they only had one thing on the menu it probably would be good (boo)it's 10.75 for half and 18.50 for a whole pizza. my buddy JR and i were gonna split a half and we decided we should get the bbq chicken since it had the most toppings and meat (aka not a rip-off), the others were mostly just veggies.anyway it was super crunchy or burnt. not too saucy. if it wasn't so hard it could have been ohkay, but not great.it was actually someone's bday so one of the girls brought a cake and the waitress immediately acted all "omg don't get that the floor or anything" it was weird. also as soon as i bit into my pizza she was all, "um can you pay now?" dang. omg and Van P is right, it is soooo smoky in there. My eyes were burning and dying.

Cosmos is one of my favorite bars in Dallas and pretty much THE bar I go to in Lakewood.  The BEST bartender in the world, Jackson works there.  If you're by yourself and you want a beer/drink and you don't want to drink by yourself because it's pathetic- then go here. No one thinks its weird if you're alone and you can dress like a scumbag and no one gives a crap.  I've come in there after kickball games, after the gym, and stinkin like a sweaty farm worker.  No pretensions here, folks.  It's like a living room.  You can order a pizza (that's pretty good!), a beer, and request a movie that they play on the TV and relax like it's your own place...except there are drunk people and service.  You can't LOSE!!!For those that gave it a low rating because the pizza and the place wasn't impressive...well you can bite me.  First off...it's a BAR. If you go there for the pizza, then go back to uptown and wait your complaining suck ass in line at Fireside pies.  Or better yet, stay your ass home and order Pizza Hut. Gimme a break.  You suck...seriously. My review of you is zero stars.  You do not belong at Cosmos, nor do we want you there.  You don't get it. Go away. The decor also lends to a great atmoshere.  70's style porn lamps hang from the ceiling and retro chairs and furniture line the place.  There's a great jukebox that doesn't carry the latest douche top 40 vomit songs- but great classics that you can listen to with your eyes closed or sing drunk at the top of your lungs.  On the weekends, you will find your usual bar crowd with the high heels and button up shirts- just like any other place in Dallas.  However, if you come in a T-shirt and jeans, no one blinks.  You can find ad people, the douchbag fake bakes, and the casuals all rolled into one. Unfortunately, the smoking ban has really thinned out the crowd, but the hardcore Cosmo smokers just smoke outside.Love this bar, love the creepy regulars, love the bartenders.  My favorite dive bar in Lakewood!Warning: Never ever ever ever go there during the daytime or if the sun is up. No matter what. Trust me. It will ruin everything.Funky-grungy. Just the way I like my dive!On a Sunday night it was relatively uncrowded, which I liked because we weren't exactly there to mingle. We had to talk loudly at times, but for the most part were able to enjoy the dimly lit, eclectic space while playing iPhone pop culture trivia (we're pretty dang geeky) and having plenty of room for our pizza and drinks. The pizza was sufficient if not amazing. The Greek had feta, tomato, and olives, which were disappointing (canned). Crust was just not that stunning, a little floury but definitely not overcooked (I'm one of those who don't love too much char on my crust). However, we were pretty hungry and ended up eating most of a pie between us, so it certainly wasn't anything to sneeze at. Better than average bar pizza.Blue Moons kept on coming, which kept me happy.I used to live right around the corner from Cosmo's and it was a great bar to walk to.  The reason I say "walk to" is because of the lack of parking.  Most people park at the Lakewood Landing or across the street and walk over.  I would advise against parking at Medallion because they will have your car towed.  On cold days, snuggle up to the fireplace and enjoy your favorite cocktail while listening to the best jukebox in Dallas.  Their drink prices are reasonable, maybe a little on the higher side.  The service is friendly and speedy.  If someone invited me out for drinks at Cosmo's, I would be there in a heartbeat.FAVORITE. BAR. IN. DALLAS. Period, hands down, no question. This gem is in the killer Lakewood and a complete diamond in the rough. Here is a place to go to actual get away from the typical Dallas d-bag.Juke box= freaking killer selection. I could spend $50 on it. Everything from White Stripes to the Commodors. Rock.Drinks= strong ass pour- inexpensiveTV's- always playing something random and wonderful- like BarbarellaDecor- freaking awesome. Can you come decorate my house? Vintage posters, awesome lamps, light up tables, velvet chairs, couches....This place is a time warp back to the 70's.Food- some pretty decent pizzas for when you have been over served. Now that there is no smoking, this place is truly like no other. I want to move in here.I'm sorry, but I wasn't wowed by Cosmos.   I give it almost three stars.  I saw this place as a run down hole in the wall.  It was incredibly smokey when I went, before the smoking ban.  It was kitschy and grimy.  Seemed more dirty.  This place may be cool because it's not full of silicon bimbos but i found it lacking in comfort.I wasn't crazy about the pizza.

Its all about Cosmos. The place is pretty straight forward so there's not too much to say about it.Drinks are reasonable but a little light on the liquor sometimes, I normally have to get doubles. The atmosphere is great and everyone that's seems to frequent this place is friendly and accommodating. Cool seating areas and the best thing about this place, the Jukebox. So many good looking bars are ruined by those internet jukeboxes that seem to constantly play music from my reoccurring dentist nightmares. I just wish this place was closer to my house.

yep, this is on of my favorite bars in Dallas. I've had many great nights at this place over the years. Great pizza. Great jukebox (but they took out the Fu Manchu) but still have the Outkast.
