Love this place!! Bring your own wine!! Must try the stuffed cabbage, it's not on the menu...usually a special on Friday and Saturday nights. My husband loves the lamb chops...JLS

My first time there this past Friday night with several friends all hungry for Greek food. I was initially disappointed because it was pouring rain outside and there was no real waiting area. Most of the guest waiting for a table were huddled around the hostess stand which made it difficult to enter the building and approach the hostess. Luckily we had called in reservations and were seated as the booth became available. We started with Turkish coffee sweetened, Tzatziki, Spanakopita and Saganaki. I loved the Tzatziki and the Turkish coffee but the Spanakopita had too much breading and reminded me of a Greek burrito. The Saganaki was too tangy compared to most I have had at other restaurants. I had the Gyro platter for the entree which my friends shared with me. They claimed they were too full to order entrees but yet they ate most of my food. Why do girls do that? Over all it was a good experience which could have been better if it wasn't raining as we had planned to sit on the patio to smoke a hookah.

Cafe Medi is one of my favorite restaurants. I dine there for dinner at least once a month and either dine their for lunch or smoke from the hookah at least twice a month. The only complaint I do have is there is no wine available. However, they have some of the best tasting Coke from the fountain anywhere and the glasses are HUGE so rarely do you need to worry about a refill. The waitstaff is extremely efficient and friendly. Well, all but one. There is this one haggard looking waitress with red hair that is staright out of the 80's that is a really bad server. The rest of them are awesome.I have tried just about everything on their menu and this is what I highly recommend:The Lemon Rice soup is a must have. Huge bowl of steaming hot soup with great flavors and texture. Two appetizers are must trys: The first is Saganake. Two huge triangles of fried cheese that they douse with vodka and light on fire. Delicious. The 2nd is the Kebbeh. 4 Ovals of cracked wheat stuffed with meat and spices and then fried and served with the best tzatziki sauce I have ever had.As far as entrees go....you can go wrong with the Gyro, Kefta Kabob, Zeus Burger or the Greek lasagna. The Lamb Chops and Red Snapper are also delicious. If you like to smoke tabacco...the prices for the hookah are decent and the waiters pack them nicely to where you get a nice and clean smoke. Only smoke the Starbuzz brands though...they are amazing.Overall...one of my top three place to eat at.

I've only been here a couple of times. But each time I have been here it's been great! I'm not an authority on this type of cuisine, but I know what is tasty and man is it tasty!!I've had the calamari, the gyro dinner, and the mousaka. All of the above was a great portion and good to the last bite. The salads here are fresh and the soups are fantastic. My friend had the lamb chops the last time we went and omg i wish i had ordered them b/c they looked so good. The hookah aspect of the restaurant is nice. :) I love the smell of hookah and it wasn't overpowering or irritating. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very good. It wasn't too busy/crazy on the days I have gone, but it's not somber either. Everyone is there having a great time w/o being too rowdy. :) I highly recommend!

Went back to Cafe Medi today but I just couldn't branch out. I had the veggie plate again and it was just as good as the last time...I have a new love for green beans thanks to the good people at Cafe Medi. Also, I can't say enough about the wait staff, good people providing good food. Why haven't you been there yet? I dropped into Cafe Medi on a random Wednesday afternoon for a late lunch with good friend. What I…

One of the best mediterranean restaurants I've been to. Everything was delicious! We had the hummus, falafel, mixed grill, gyros. The humms with warm pita bread was tied for best I've had in dallas (other first place is izmir on greenville). Falafels were perfectly crunchy. Mixed grill meats were well flavored, and perfectly cooked. Overall really fantastic food and decent service/atmosphere.

Wonderful gyro. Only eaten here once because it gets so packed on fri/sat night that we didn't want to wait that long. I haven't been able to find much Greek food in this area. It's a charming place nestled at the end of a little strip center....hard to notice if you weren't looking for it. Want to go back and try other items.

Like Karin, I have to admit that I am NOT an authority when it comes to Greek food or ANY Mediterranean food, so take my review with a grain of salt as I don't know what it's SUPPOSED to be like...My wife and I joined another couple on Friday night, a couple who had been to Cafe Medi many times before, for a Greek adventure and a movie. (to check out my movie review, head on over to http://TruthOnCinema.com) We had been warned that we might be waiting for a while for a seat inside as it was at the peak hour on Friday night, but when we arrived and told the hostess (who I think might be the "haggard looking" woman james was talking about) we had a party of 4 to sit inside, she immediately grabbed 4 menus and lead us to a table in the back. There were quite a few people waiting before us, so I don't know what happened, but we got in right away.We ordered as an appetizer some plate that had 3 sauces on it and it also came with Pita bread to dip in it. From what I was told, one of the sauces was hummus, something called tzitki or something like that...they were ok. The hummus, or what I thought was hummus, tasted a little like a peanuty mayonnaise, it was ok. Everyone else seemed to enjoy themselves and complimented the "tz---" sauce whatever it was.I ordered the Zeus burger with fries and my wife ordered the chicken gyro. My burger was HUGE, double meat (which I didn't know, or I wouldn't have ordered it) with peppers and grilled onions on top of it. It was a very good burger, grilled to perfection, and I really enjoyed the "char-grilled-ness" of it. The fries were a little peppery for my taste but suited me quite well. I wish I had known it was double meat so I could have planned my pre-eating better so I wouldn't have been so full. My wife seemed to enjoy her gyro, so much so in fact that she finished the whole thing. After dinner we sampled some Baklava (sp?) and rice pudding and they were both great, though I only had 1 bite due to my fullness. My wife makes rice pudding at home and she makes it hot, this rice pudding was room temperature and that didn't taste right to me. But, that's just my taste...not taste in general.Overall it was a very nice experience. I don't know if we'll go back, but I'm sure with how cultural and culinarily-flexible my wife is, I'm sure I'll be back and have to try something new.
