I've still never had a cappuccino that lived up to those made at cafe vittoria. Not only do they use top notch espresso and know how to froth and steam milk well, but the powdered cocoa and cinnamon mix they sprinkle on top is a perfect compliment, that i have never been able to replicate, nor have i found anywhere else.If you are a cappuccino lover, this is the place to go in boston.

My friend, who was visiting us and used to live in Boston, suggested that we get dessert here (after dining at wonderful Cibo) as he believes it has "the best tiramisu in Boston."  Now, this is coming from someone who loves food and has made extensive forays into all manners of North End Restaurants.  Seriously, this is a guy who made me get up early after a late night of drinking so that we could go BACK to the North End and stand in lines at THREE different pastry shops so that he could get the perfect combination of cannolis (two different kinds, because apparently the ones at Modern are better suited for light snacking and the ones at Mike's are for when you're really hungry) and tiramisu to take back home with him.  Bottom line, I trust his opinion.Four stars for Caffe Vittoria because the tiramisu was notably delicious, and it's not one of my fave desserts.  The alcoholic coffee and hot chocolate drinks are STRONG -- and $9 each, FYI.  I hate it when restaurants don't post prices for their drinks.  The atmosphere was fun and crowded.  I'll be back here again.

Cafe Vittoria.  Here is what you may experience:A tall, bald man who resembles Mr.Clean will shuffle you in and to your table.  You probably will be wedged in to a corner sitting very close to the next group of people.  There will be loud music, laughter, and frenetic waitresses all around you.The items you order will be fine, however do not expect very courteous or patient service. The name of the game to a very popular cafe such as this is to get people in and out as soon as possible.  I've been there many times - it's a great place to people watch. My friends and I have  had a lot of great times there. Although we did have a bad experience with a disrespectful waitress a few years back -and it put a damper on the place for us.  That was a shame because it really kept us from going back for a LONG time.

This is the place to grab an espresso and a gelato after a meal in the North End, in my opinion.  The setting has a lot of charm, and the only missing star is because the service isn't spectacular.  Very often it is quicker to go to the counter and then find a seat.  The coffee is always good, though my cappuccino the other day looked more like a latte.  I ordered the hazelnut gelato, which was kind of sweet....next time I will go with the pistachio.  Also good to know: they have a full bar, and are all about adding booze to coffee, which is always a beautiful thing in my book.

Cafe Vittoria is such an awesome place. The atmosphere is great, and the look and feel is very traditional.  The place itself is pretty spacious, (you can sit down!!!), for the North End. I've been here many times and the staff is always friendly.  The drinks and deserts are just as great. I love their gelato, coconut being one of my favorites. I'd give this place a 3.5 based on food/drinks alone but coupled with service/atmosphere, and the fact that they're one of the places that sticks out in my mind out of the numerous other rip-off cafes in the north end.The drinks are plenty delicious and the deserts are decent, but really you need to come here for Josephine, the waitress. She's the best. She's a grey-haired bespeckled fairy grandmother.  Gruff, yet effecient and sparse and terse with her words, she really completed our evening perfectly. She's like Anna Wintour with an apron and a Revere accent. It was 11:00 pm on a Sunday. Look, I'm tired, we're all tired, and Josephine's personality completely matched our tables, and was actually a breath of fresh air. We're all adults and don't need to be coddled with jargon speaking happy go lucky service. I just want someone to take and complete the order without much fuss, and Jo Jo my love, you nailed it.  I heart you. Thank you.  Sincerely, Whippersnapper at table 9.Hot chocolate on a chilly night.  But, you need to get gelato, too.  Peppermint stick gelato. It was the best peppermint stick I've ever had.  Cute cafe and sweet waitress.I will be back!! What a lovely gelati/booze/wine/grappa parlor in the sassy north end.  I went here tonight after… I agree with other diners. This is the place to go for taramisu. Excellent. Wait staff can be a little on the rough side and they don't take credit cards so if you plan to have a few after dinner drinks with your dessert make sure to visit the bank up the street before you go. It was slow the saturday night we went.  Maybe that would explain the sour attitude of the employees. I think its about the business right guys. Lighten up and you might find that work isn't all that bad.

Quaint and classic are two perfect adjectives to describe Caffe V's.  I went with a girlfriend on a Tuesday night, when only a few of the tables were full.  We were immediately assisted by a cute waitress (the only one for all the tables); she was helpful and quick.  I got a caffe with brandy and mocha liquor (super strong), while a friend got a cappacino, along with tiramisu and cookies.  It was a great atmosphere, however I bet it gets disgustingly busy and annoying with tourists during the summer.  I'll definitely head back the next time I'm at the North End.

There are few places that make my heart skip a beat but Caffe Vittoria is one of them -toki-doki-From the dark lighting to the metal of the espresso machines everything just seems right. The staff tends to hang back a bit but it works in a way that keeps you wrapped in the ambiance.  Ideally you show up and get a nice little table order an espresso and grappa and everything outside disappears. tip - a date here = likely very serious or very seriously trying to get in your pants

This is such an amazing cafe. Perfect all year round but especially during the summer. The cappuccino is to die for. The cheescake a superb. This is definitely the best place in the North End.
