this place a hole in the wall if there ever was one, but thats a good thing.  there is a restaurant located in the back right corner of this Halal grocery store on Hillcroft, and its kind of strange walking into a grocery store to find a restaurant, but its definitely worth checking out.  the schwarma was great, and really cheap.  also the falafel were delicious.  i ordered another dish of lamb in rice that everyone in the entire place was eating, and it was great too, but i have no clue what it was called.  the man behind the counter was really friendly, and answered all the questions i had about the various food.  i heard very little english amongst the other patrons, and as such, i felt a little out of place, but that usually speaks well for the food.   all in all, very cool spot, and worth finding.

The grocery is cluttered, but the hidden little restaurant in the back has the best hummus I've had in the states.  They'll even serve it with ground beef or other meats on top.  Delish.

If there was ever a Halal meat market more critical to the existence of man, it would be this one.Jerusalem Halal Meats has been dropping it like it's hot for a good while now. They still have one of the largest varieties of Middle-Eastern products anywhere. Not to mention the largest collection of olive oil I have EVER seen in my life. Once you have had Lebanese olive oil, you don't go back to any other kind. I personally stock up on "El Koura" extra virgin olive oil when I am in town as I can't find it in KC. If you use a hard to find brand of olive oil though, you will most likely find it here. There is also a huge variety of pastries near the registers. I personally find their regular baklava to be pretty disgusting. To give the stuff to hungry Bangladeshi street dogs would probably be a crime punishable by death (preferably via firing squad) But their pistachio baklava however, that stuff is straight divine in every way.

One of the few (and best!) places to by lamb in town, butchered, halal style.  Lots of other good middle eastern food items as well;  the pastries are made locally, and there's import candies, dates, teas, flours, soaps, hookahs, and a dizzying assortment of other items.

Best pastries and treats, spices and it's a great place to explore and buy difficult to find ingredients.  I bought some fresh sage here to smudge my apartment with.  I heard they also rent out hookah pipes here to take home.
