Opal Nightclub Reviews

Very nice space- high wood ceilings, comfy chairs that would fit two, a table for 6 with a canopy around it, etc. The drinks all Sunday night are $2 and they were showing the 5th element when we were there- great place to grab a bite, a drink, people watch, and dance. All of my favorite pasttimes actually, probably why I loved this place.

Nice lounge with modern decor and leather couches. This place was kinda dead, I mean it was barely 25% full on a Saturday night, but then again this isn't Vegas. Best part is the "happy hour" with $2 well drinks from 8-10pm!

Opal is a pretty cool space inside the Mont Bleu Casino (aka revamped Caesar's Tahoe) which serves as an Asian tapas restaurant, hookah lounge, and bar. We only had drinks and smoked so I can't speak to the quality of the food. It was a good time though, and I'd recommend it. If you are interested in smoking, you might have to wait for a hookah to become available. When we placed our order for one, we had to wait about 20 minutes before one was ready even though the place wasn't that crowded at the time.

This place was not free when I went. $20 for men, $10 for women. Drinks were a bit expensive but not ridiculous. This is a nice sized place with a lot of seating and VIP areas, a long bar and some weird fire dancers. Haha. Anyway, it made for a fun night.

I come to the Opal Lounge every time I visit Tahoe. I even got a VIP room for my wedding reception. The Opal is a great lounge. It's always free to get in. The drinks are good, they have hookas ($20) and the music is groovy. If you come early it is quiet which can be nice sometimes. By 11pm people start dacing on the small dance floor.

Very small cramped area at the bar and horrible organization for big events.I did enjoy the sensual atmosphere of the lounge. Tried to make reservations for dinner, but they discontinued dinner service.

Went to check this place out on a Saturday night and it was completely dead around 11pm. There was a little bit of a snow blizzard outside so that could have been a reason. Anyways took a peak inside and it is a really nice looking place for being in Tahoe. We all just ended up gambling and then drinking in the casino bar since nothing was happening at Opal.

This place annoyed me... with 14 girls they made us wait in line and let a bunch of scary looking, big-haired people skip ahead of us. If the wait was 5-10 min that would've been ok (I THINK) but the wait bordered on 15-20 min...and it wasn't even all that busy inside. The place is small, fortunately we got bottle service so we had our own private dancing area and invited a few hot boys to join in the festivities.. the bride to be went c-r-a-z-y and started stripping off the clothes of 2 boys...even so the initial experience at Opal was sour and we decided to leave after we finished all the drinks and went back to Vex.And yes, the bride to be and a few strong soldiers stayed at Vex til the bitter end and finally came home at 6:30AM.

One of the only places that you can get wasted at, dance like a drunken fool, then pass out while smoking hookah. Awesome. The place is kinda small but has a nice feel. They have dancers that juggle various items on fire. I would steer clear of them as they drop these often. In terms of hookah flavors; from what I remember they were pretty subpar. Ask if you can mix your own flavors.

is it a thursday night? then go to opal because well drinks are $2 and it will be packed and there is no cheaper place to get hammered. is it one of the other six nights of the week? then go somewhere else

First off, let me state that I went here on the fourth of July and found the place to be pretty empty for a Friday night at almost 1 AM. I don't know how other people got in for free, but we had to pay $10 for guys and $5 for girls even though we were rolling through later in the evening and hardly anyone was there.Though, the furnishings and decor are fairly nice and contemporary, the place doesn't really have the vibe of a club. It seems more like a room trying to be a hip club in LA, Miami, or Vegas but somehow it just doesn't all come together. Maybe there are too many tables that are too spread out for it to be a club? Maybe it was the lack of people there that night? But something made it seem like a movie scene trying to be a hip club more than a hip club itself. The hookah we ordered smelled good but didn't actually taste very good unfortunately. In the end though, Opal is a cool place to come to in Tahoe if you want to be in the club scene but still be able to go out and play black jack.

How much money did they spend on this place? Opal Lounge- oh sorry, Opal ULTRA lounge is very spacious, dimly lit, and well furnished. Leather sofas all around. In the place of chandeliers were brightly colored flowy draperies. The whole time there I felt like I was waiting for a performer from Cirque du Soleil to spiral down from one of them. The Mont Bleu (re-vamped Caesar's) did a good job with this lounge. I can't speak for any other weekend, but a group of us went up to Tahoe during MLK holiday and this place was packed. The service at the bar seemed understaffed for the crowd, but other than that- we had a great time.** The TV screens near the bar played videos of extreme snowboarders/skiers performing impossible jumps and maneuvers. Neat**

I was lucky enough to be at the grand opening of the Opal Ultra Lounge. Free drinks and free food was the perfect way to get introduced to this swanky bar and hookah lounge in Tahoe. Everything I tasted was exceptional for this event. From the first moment I stepped foot in this ultra lounge, I was impressed. They created a festive and fun atmosphere that is also sophisticated. When I met the mixologist and her customized liquor cart filled with a variety of organic ingredients, it was love at first sight. This is a trend I can get behind. I think she is a one of the kind at the moment ... but great ideas always seem to be duplicated. I give this establishment 5 stars because there is a lot of effort and expertise that went into this endeavor. It certainly is a risk to open a new spot in this town. Sometimes it is crowded and sometimes it is dead. If is seems less crowded than you would expect, it is because it is in Tahoe and it can be a little sleepy sometimes. And if you are in town ... get a drink here and see if you like it too. If not, the casino is in the next room.

Came here for the bachelorette party night as we were staying at MontBleu for the weekend with a Bride to Be. We couldn't figure out why it was called Bachelorette Night- perhaps out of convenience because that's what most people go there for? There were no bachelorette activities/dance offs/contests or anything else you might expect. Just a weird body painting sesh happening in the corner. As it was, there were a couple of bachelor parties as well. Everyone seemed to be in their 20's or early-mid 30's.Our strategy was to drink the premo stuff in our room and then go out; as we suspected, the drinks were a little drab, I'm guessing per hotel policy, ha. No complaints about the bartenders though, they were quick and nice. The music was straight off of the iTunes top 100 list, with some random oldies mixed in- "You Love" by The Outfield!?! I loved it.. but still, a little random. All that mattered was it was all easy to dance to. And p.s., very few people were lounging- unless you call taking a rest because you're too drunk "lounging."The other ladies on the dance floor were super nice, and the boys were a little bit in the "Vegas" mindset of "anything goes." Perhaps they recently saw "The Hangover" and were inspired. All I'm saying is, ladies, watch out! We were followed by a few different groups of relatively harmless, but still a slightly annoying guys. Not unlike any other night at any club- only different if they figure out you're staying at the hotel and where your room is. Eek! Overall, fun times. Worth checking out.

was here last month with some friends, but the place was not too busy for a sat nite...must have been the weather. had a private section, but waited days to get drinks from the hostess...overall a nice layout and friendly people there. the music was straight out of someone's party mix ipod from 2006, tho. hard to get into dmx nowadays. overall, 3 solid stars.

Wow, I gotta say I was shocked with my times here. First and foremost, I hated "Club Blu" so I thought to myself, "this place will suck ass as well", I was wrong!I figured the atmosphere would be similar to what goes down at Blu and even think the owners have to be all in the same. So why is this place so much better? Well, I love the layout for one. It's a nice "ULTRA LOUNG", *Puke* such a gay ass term. It does have a good setup for lounging around, chatting up the local the skanks, meth heads, and cool cats. So that for one is a plus in my book. The music echo's what you would hear just about everywhere, Top 40's watered down hip hop meets MIA in the bathroom for a lil fuck session and Skeet Skeet Skeeted all over her boobies. Regardless, All I wanna do is a zoom zoom zoom zoom in da boom boom!! This place is great for that! I will admit I am very picky when it comes to clubs and "ultra gay ass lounges" but this place really caught me and I did enjoy it enough to return another time.I went on a Monday which was good times because I guess its "Locals Night" and its $2 you call it drinks. Fuck yes; I'll take some top shelf drinks for $2!

Out of the clubs in the Montbleu casino, this one is the best one hands down. It has the most room to actually move and walk around, without being forced to run into or squeeze by really sweaty people, which to me is always a turn off....The decor is nice in this club, dimly lit, and they played the best music here by far. And the best thing about the Opal Lounge was that the line for the men's bathroom was actually longer than for the women's!!! AMAZING!! I had never been more excited to have to go to the restroom! The bar tenders were a little understaffed, but overall we got our drinks a little faster when the boys ordered than when I did, since the bar tenders were all girls here the night we went....gotta love sexism in a bar!!! ha ha But the dance floor was nicely placed and the bar area was elevated above the dance floor which created a nice feel and overall flow to this club. It just made you want to dance! Any takers? ha ha

Small dance area, okay music, body paint guy, older folks, no working dancers/entertainers. Good thing was admission gets you in Blu Night Club. Ladies are free, $10 for guys when we went on a Sat. night.

Our bachelorette party was so original that we decided to go to bachelorette night at a casino lounge in Tahoe...where of course we busted out "Beat it" type dance floor wars* with the 7 other bachelorette parties and 4 bachelor parties. There is nothing special about this venue, other than it was free and unassuming, which in the clubbing world is in fact saying a lot. But they followed other protocol such as overpriced drinks and Alizee-flavored top 40 hits.*not really though because our bride-to-be had a "suck for a buck" shirt (which is supposed sound especially dirty but really just involves lifesavers) and so the rival bachelorettes cleared a red-sea-parting-like path to the choiciest dance floor territories for our hot creative genius selves, and all the bachelors bought us continuous flows of weak drinks. At least, that's how I remember it. It was pretty fun, until one of the bachelors who bought a round turned out to be an Iraq vet determined to sit me down and tell me the most sobering details of his daily struggle with PTSD and the whore of an exwife who cheated on him with his best friend****Because the universe wants me to be a psychotherapist.

We ended up in Opal after an evening of casinos and drinking because there was no cover for women. Loving it already. The place was a bit slow, but we didn't care. We danced and attracted other people to the dance floor. We were invited to the VIP lounge with it's cool sofas and hookah bar vibe. We met cool people, had great conversations, great drinks and didn't leave until about 2:30 (no last call in Nevada!)It's not as crowded as Blu, the other club in Montbleu, but it's not stiflingly hot and you actually have room to move. You don't have a bunch of unknown sweaty bodies pressed around you. It's a chill place, which was a great way to wind down the evening. They also play pretty much every Lady Gaga and Katy Perry song in existence. Take that how you will, but I could find that in any club in the Castro.

Between 2 and 3 stars. We got a chance for a date night and decided to go clubbing. Saturdays are free for ladies, but $20 for guys. Your admission gets you in to Blu as well. The bartenders were just lame, no mojitos no ideas for drinks...they just wanted to crank out the vodka and red bulls. The clientele varied from bachelorette parties (there were a lot of these), creepy older single people and some folks that were probably in depends. The music was okay.

Came here on a Friday night with a bunch of girls while our bf's gambled in the MontBleu casino floor. After reading up on their website, it seemed like a chill place to go and had to check it out. Upon entering we had to pay 10 per girl, sucks, but girl drink free all night on Fridays at Opal, so we couldn't complain. The venue is simple. VIP tables surronded the small dancefloor while larger VIP rooms are along the walls and upstairs. The bar had seating areas and bar stools taht overlooked the dancefloor. The bartenders were very nice. Free drinks that night were only on well drinks and shots. They used cheap, which I call headache vodka for our well drinks and shots., like I said couldn't really complain free is free, right?Overall we had a great time. The dancefloor wasn't crowded, the DJ played top 40s which pleased everyone in the crowd. The crowd itself was diverse, however it was an older crowd that partied that night!! Hookah (20 per hour) was misleading. There was a waitlist that was 5min to an hour long! AND they only had TWO hookahs!! Most likely a place I would not go back to.
