Great price for the room that you get, but you would think that they could add the resort fee in with the online price rather than hitting you with it during check in.Online price - $59.99 for a spa room with the option of 2 queens or 1 king bed per nightCheck in price - $59.99 for spa room with 2 queens or 1 king + $10.00 resort fee + $6.00 for taxesThe rooms were spacious, and the bathroom had a spa/shower comb, his and her sinks, a slide mirror door closet with a dresser included, but I was hoping for a coffee maker.Make sure you take advantage of their onsite spa! You're paying $10.00 per day for that, so use it! It's complete with towels, steam room, dry sauna, whirlpool, and cucumber lemon water! As for location, it's walking distance from Heavenly's Gondola!

Spent an evening here with the wife just this week. The downstairs and lobby looked nice and clean, the room was in good shape but still looked like it had the Caesar's Palace decor. Cheesy jacuzzi tub in the middle of the room surrounded by carpet which probably should have been replaced recently. I didn't gamble so I can't really say much about the machines or tables. It was pretty dead since we arrived in between seasons. Tuesdays aren't very happening in major cities when it comes to nightlife so of course nothing was going on at their night spots either. The ads look like most of the cliche types you see at the casino in the Tampa (Seminole Hard Rock) are. I ate at the 24 hr cafe, food was ok but wait staff just kinda left me hanging after leaving me my check. I needed a $20 broken after breakfast to leave a decent tip... 20 min ticked by and with no more than 2 other people seated in the whole place I paid the bill and left the waitress with what I had. I've read a lot of horror stories about this place during peak times so I am glad I missed out on those. My experience was average so I went with 2 stars. Nothing to here to bring us back but nothing for me to say stay away either.

I think it's one of the prettiest casinos in the street but I ate at the buffet. Not the best. It's really small but cozy. The macncheese tasted like pepper and there were so many bread crumbs in it! They need more variety. The sushi was just nasty. But its really comfy.

I have had a lot of good and bad experiences at this hotel.  I'm in the Player's Club so I get free rooms so I stay at Montbleu quite often. Yes, there are times when things happen like - getting to your room and it hasn't been cleaned yet, the cleaning staff barging in at 6 am thinking no one was supposed to be in the room which then involves security, or overall shotty service or icky rooms.  Each time this sort of thing has happened to me they always make it up to me by putting me in the $1000 a night suite for free or upgrading me in some way.  Therefore I still go back because they always make it right in my book. The ambiance in the lobby is wonderful.  Yes, they haven't done much of anything to the rooms which is a bummer but I still feel as though I am in an upscale hotel and staying for free or close to it.  Opal Lounge is really classy and Blu, the night club is fun.  I like that there is a 24 hr diner in the hotel.  Beware though - it is overpriced and nothing special.  So yes, there are good and bad here but after walking around in the other casino hotels I would have to say Montbleu is the nicest.  Just make sure you don't spend much on your room and be ready for anything!  If they mess something up, kindly ask them to make it right.

on a recent vacation to lake tahoe, my parents took the entire family (about 10 adults) to dinner at the montbleu buffet. i winced a bit at the $18/person price tag, but since pops was paying i was down to give it a shot.the sign outside claimed that this was the "un"buffet for its selection stations and food quality. i have to say, this is most definitely a buffet. the food was certainly of a higher quality than say, hometown buffet, or the cheapo places in las vegas...but it wasn't AWESOME or anything. hubs said the prime rib was really good. i heard similar reviews of the lamb (never seen lamb at a buffet so maybe that's what they meant?) the roast turkey was pretty delicious with mashed potatoes and gravy, the sushi looked scary...but then, i wouldn't ever eat sushi from a buffet...so that's expected.all said and done, i think pops could have fed us better at one of the local restaurants in south lake, but i think he really just wanted an excuse to gamble...

This review is for the club.it sucks.DEAD empty place, waitresses/bartender girls have no concept of service aka blank stare out into nothing. When you do bring them back down to earth, they charge you TOO much for a drink that taste HORRIBLE and serve it to you in a DIRTY glass.I really want to give zero stars

This place lost a star because on new years, there were NO CABS TO BE FOUND ANYWHERE NEAR HERE. And the resort couldn't even call one for us....so in the cold after new years, that was definitely a huge let down....That aside, my boyfriend and a couple of his friends all won money here, especially on the craps tables!!! There are a couple tables there that we swear must be good luck, because they all won on the same one!! And being a girl, I appreciated that the cocktail waitresses didn't look like total prostitutes like they do in vegas, but then this is only tahoe, and isn't nearly as upscale or skanky as vegas is ha haThe drinks at the bars here are cheap!! I was so surprised! Especially coming from LA I was expecting them to be pricey at a casino, but they were only about $5 each if you weren't gambling!!! That's a steal in my book and they are made strong!! There are also a couple clubs here and a couple restaurants, and of course a lot of stores to spend all of your money in. And they even have a starbucks heh. The layout can be a little confusing especially since this casino also connects up to the convention center, but you figure it out pretty quickly, and there is even a place to take sporting bets, which my boyfriend and his friends all happily and eagerly found across the back wall. Really it is a smaller, more laid back vegas type of club, just minus the stripper like people, the really expensive drinks, and CABS. The decor could be improved a little bit too, but hey, it is a cheaper vegas, so you can't expect too much!

I only came for a bit of gambling and breakfast on a Sunday morning.  The breakfast at the Grill was mediocore and I'd never come back again.  It was a fair price but the food is soggy, lacking flavor and sad.  The service was equally mediocore, slow and left tables dirty.I found the hotel kind of cute though, I liked the fairly cheesy dimming lights as you enter.  The hotel seemed clean, nice and bustling.  Playing a bit of blackjack the dealer was friendly, the tables seemed to be fine and I enjoyed the ambience. Not amazing but ok.

Upon inspection of the website, you would expect some trendy luxurious hotel. Wrong. The lobby level is nice looking I suppose. The room was...ew. Huge stain on the carpet. 1 lamp's light bulb blew out when I turned it on. Another lamp had no light bulb at all. Weird alarm clock with the time not set. The AC was annoying to set up.The bathroom. I guess they are for "honeymooners" with the practically see through frosted doors. Weirdest thing ever to shower and be able to see my 2 kids and husband watch TV while I shampooed my hair. Also weird to see their silhouettes while I showered plus there are no doors in any of the bathrooms (except for the tiny toilet room) so when you go out from your shower you are buck naked for all to see. Not good I'd travelling with big families in multiple rooms that like to pop in! I guess I would suggest this hotel "for lovers only".The tub was disgusting, tiling or whatever it was was all tore up and tons of grime and grout. Toilet room floor was also all tore up.Pretty gross place if you ask me. Oh and the Buffet was CLOSED and would remain closed for 2 weeks. Had to to to Harrah's.

If you sign up for a rewards card you get a choice of 10 dollars in slot or table play.  We gambled here for a while, didn't win at all. However, this is one of the nicer looking casinos. It is not as big. They have live music certain nights with a small little dance floor. The restrooms were nice. We were taking pictures on the casino floor and one of the managers told us that we couldn't take any more pics because of the state law because there are people on the casino floor, but you can take pics in the restaurant. I was like what a load of bull crap because there are people in the restaurant! We still continued to take pictures without him knowing lol.

The thing is, Lake Tahoe is Lake Tahoe, it isn't Vegas. As far as casino's go, I prefer Montbleu over the rest of them, why you ask? Because it's a younger more trendy hotel compared to Harris and Harvey's. The decor here is trendy and funky and there are defiantly more mid 20 somethings here than any other place. It used to be Cesar's and I loved Cesar's, so I was sad when I hear they were no longer and Montbleu came to be, but I wasn't disappointed with Montbleu, I really enjoyed the food and the amenities here, and I loved all the dealer's here, they were really fun and friendly.

Worst choice I made on this trip was picking the MontBleu over any other casino hotel in town. I guess I should've known better when I tried contacting the conceirge a week in advance of our trip by both e-mail and telephone to NEVER have any of my messages returned. When we arrived on a Thursday for our weekend stay I had told them we requested a lake view room on a high floor, we had made our reservations a month in advance and I was assured we would get it, wrong. We got a room on the 6th floor overlooking the backend of the casino. As for the room itself; the beds were nice, but the nice ended there. The chair next to the small table had stains on it from what can only be assumed as sexual fluids. Every wall socket in the place was not screwed in properly and you figured if you plugged anything in you would be shocked. The bathtub had chips in it, some that were quite sharp; there was mildew in the corners of the walls in the bathroom; not to mention there were no towels or toilet paper when we entered. I called the front desk to let them know of the conditions and they offered no other room. It was gross!!The only reason they get one star is because the beds were nice, and the grotto style indoor pool and spa were good for relaxing.Don't waste your money here!!

Although it's Lake Tahoe, it's still Nevada. There are a couple casinos around here like Harrah's, Bills and this place. Out of all of them, this place is the best. This place has the best gambling, best environment, and best layout of all of them. Bill's sucks since there's no smoking in the building. Seriously, how you can a no smoking casino? Doesn't make sense. The night shows here are a bit disappointing since they're pasties only. The drinks here are a bit watered down so get something strong first and then go after the cheapy drinks. Or, just get a bottle of liquor and get tanked at your hotel room, then come here. Place is really nice and offers a nice retreat after a long day of riding. Definitely a fun place to come and hang out for the night.

I wish I could give this hotel a MINUS star rating. We stayed here over labor day weekend since it was listed as the only "3.5 stars" hotel near south lake Tahoe. We decided to book last minute and paid the last minute high rate to stay here. We had the worst night in the hotel history- fire alarm being pulled at 3am in the morning, drunk kids running around knocking on the door at 2am in the morning, NO manager on site after the false alarm, NO staff in the front desk dealing with emergency issue, horrible customer service, horrible management on site. On top of that, the room itself is worse- bed sheets were itchy and not clean. Bathroom soap was opened and no amenities in the room. Toilet was in a secluded wall with NO fan!! (Imagine the smell being incubated inside!) Bathtub water not drained and the next person to shower had to stand in the water of the previous person's. Totally not acceptable for a hotel at all. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!! I would definitely NOT come back for it, as I would rather stay at a 2 star and probably be able to sleep for at least 2 hours without either scratching or waking up from the drunk kids or falsm alarms...

You have to keep in mind that this is Tahoe, not Vegas. Mont Bleu is the old renovated Caesar's so many rooms, especially the suites aren't completely updated. Still, we arrived, were treated very well and even upgraded to a suite on 12th floor. It was HUGE! Seriously, kitchen, table with 6 chairs, liv ing room with sectional and big screen, separate bedroom with King size bed and a bathroom larger than most in houses! It had separate water closet, steam shower!, two sinks, and GIGANTIC tub.  The staff and valets were also courteous. The restaurant inside and Club Opal were also great!

So first things first: Lake Tahoe is Lake Tahoe. It isn't Vegas and never will be.We hopped around with drinks in hand between casinos most of the afternoon on Saturday July 11th for my birthday (no open container laws in Nevada!) As a whole, I liked Montbleu better than the other places. It was smaller, more spacious and had a younger vibe than either Harrahs or Harveys. The decorations were cool, there were quite a few show bars spread out through the entire casino, and there were $12 pitchers of margaritas for happy hour during the UFC fight. It was loud, it was crowded and my free gin and tonics kept appearing one right after the other. They also give you $10 free for play on any of their machines (including video poker) if you sign up for their free players rewards card. This means that I got to have a consistent buzz for about 2 hours and not have to spend any of my own money. As I said before, it's not Vegas. This may be a bit more trendy a fun than the other clubs in Lake Tahoe, but it's still not the type of place were you can spend $10,000, do blow off a stripper's ass and then sink into a bathtub full of champagne in a half drunk state. It's Lake Tahoe. It has an older vibe. It's not the Mecca of decadence, gluttony and lascivious lifestyles. It's just a place to go for a weekend, have some fun, spend some cash and drink more than one should

If I could subtract stars I would!  Horrible staff and service.  The rooms were SO gross that we ended up leaving and going to another hotel.  When we got there we were forced to wait for 2 hours (yes, 2!) in the lobby because they couldn't find our reservations.  While waiting, we noticed a bunch of other couples in the lobby as well.  When they called us up to the counter, another couple said that they were there first and were upset that we were being helped.  I told them to go ahead, and she thanked me, saying they had been there since 3 in the afternoon (it was now 10p!)!  I believe Sharon was the manager and she was just a nutcase.  DO NOT GO HERE. PLEASE, save yourself a headache and go elsewhere!

This is a great place to stay in Tahoe.  Our room was gorgeous with a calking bed and awesome shower/vanity area with aloot of space.  I like to look good when I travel so having all of this space definitely makes me happy.I'm definitely not a fan of casinos so I can't really tell you about that since I just walked past it to get to the buffet!I love me a good buffet and the one at Montbleu was delicious.  Menu items were : salmon, sushi, salad bar, italian food, chinese food, etc etc etc.  It was great. The club was so so :)  I mean I think that I didn't really enjoy it since Tahoenians are a different sort of people (than Stocktonians) and I wasn't feeling the music. But I still had a good time with my hubby and had a couple drinks with the simple mountain folk LOL

(just rating the buffet dinner)PRO:* salmon and tuna sushi rolls are okay for a buffet* decent, not great selection that also includes prime rib, brisket in a BBQ sauce, pasta; not as many choices as at Harrah's, but it's cheaper* friendly serversCON:* food is just okay* need to expand their beer selections, e.g., add Anchor Steam or Belgium beersASIDE:* it's a buffet, i.e., quantity over quality, so gage expectations accordingly; back in the day, Harrah's was way better but way way more expensive; now H is just way way more expensive; none of the South LT buffets are anything to write Yelp about* my generous sister-in-law always treats, but if not for her, wouldn't go out of my way to eat here

In July, 2009, my son and his best friend asked if they could go mountain biking at Tahoe - perhaps at Heavenly Valley (South Lake Tahoe) or at Northstar.  We checked google, ,etc., to determine the best opportunities and then found Mountbleu Resort at the south end of Lake Tahoe. Since there were be 3 or 4 of us (2 dads, 2 sons), we tried to get connectiing rooms or suites. When we arrived, the front desk staff provided us just that! Perfect. We had high floor rooms, connecting and each was complete with plasma tv screens, large bathrooms and a steam capability in the showers. It proved perfect after we biked at Heavenly, got back to the room, and then ventured off to Riva Grill for dinner 1 night and to Fresh Catch.  The boys really liked Riva Grill will all the boating stuff that decorates the bar and dining areas downstairs and upstairs.  NOW they want me to buy them a ski boat, go figure! We did not do any gambling.....but we enjoyed walking through the casino area and dropping an occasional quarter. The hotel has an indoor pool, gym and spa. We got to use this one afternoon when it was really windy and we did not venture out onto the mountain. We did not get massages but we did swim and did a bit of treadmill then took a steam and shower and went off to the beach (the lake was really blown out that day). I must say - the pool, gym and spa was invigorating and not too crowded (we were not there on a weekend). The boys were able to make new friends with several others. I would recommend this property for both families and casino or spa goes.  4+

There are two reasons why you come to LakeTahoe in September. 1) to gamble and lose your ass, 2) to watch football, bet on the games and lose your ass. My partner in crime had booked us a room at Mont Bleu for Saturday and Sunday . Perfect timing, it was the start of the NFL plus college football so you know the casinos were going to be lively. I'm not sure what the room rates were because my partner in crime had book the rooms via Priceline. Must have a been a great rate. The layout features a 24 hr restaurant, a buffet, a burger and pizza restaurant (it was closed) a high end dining area, two cocktail bars and a sports bar. Plus some added shopping, hair salon and sporting goods for summer and winter sports. Mont Bleu casino has a large floor featuring slots, black jack, craps, poker, pai gow, and roulette tables. Look for the virtual black jack and 3 card poker table (the dealers are awesome).I think the best casino features are the large sports book with 8 large screens which merges into the sports bar. In the sports bar there are two large screens (projection) surrounded by 4 flat screens. The bar tenders and the servers all wear referee uniforms which add to the ambiance. Our room featured a bed that was similar to the heavenly bed at the Westin (ohhh ahhh). Very nice decor , very clean and our room had a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. One thing I noticed was the movies were a little expensive ( the adult movies was a package at $21.99). Mont Bleu has a large fitness room with treadmills, elipitical, machines and free weights. Very clean and well organized.  A nice added feature is the large indoor pool with a jacuzzi, rock formation and teak lounge chairs. Overall more amenities then Harrahs and Harveys, look for the weekday specials too!NO more bets please!!!

It is what it is.... We went to the happy hour that started at 10am for Sunday football.. some cheap drinks... decent service... The negatives were that the tv's in the bar weren't that big and didn't seem like high def...Stay away from the food....You can get dollar beers.....

Stay duration - 6 nights I haven't been to any of the others (Harrah's, Horizon, etc), but would definitely try those out before ever staying at Montbleu again. The room had some serious potential. We had a room with one king size bed instead of two queens. The bathroom had a TON of mirrors, the toilet was in a separate room from the shower and sink, and the decor was nice. The shower was a huge round shower, large enough for a handful of people if you were so inclined, and it had a partially fogged glass window facing the rest of the room. The Bad: Montbleu is the kind of false appearances. Everything looks nice and new at first glance, but the upkeep is terrible. Some examples - the light telling you the elevator has arrived was burnt out on just about all of them, the shower curtain was excessively moldy, the closet door was off the track (I was nice enough to fix it), the shower leaked through the glass wall slightly, the shower curtain track's mounting screw wasn't fully in, so the curtain could only slide one direction and couldn't be extended to block the glass wall to the rest of the room. I would have contemplated leaving if it wouldn't have really complicated my expense reimbursement. They have a SCAM of a gambling promotion where you get $30 of chips for $20 to open a membership. What they don't tell you is that ALL $30 is promotional chips that can't be cashed in, or even broken into $1 increments, should you want to break one to make the payouts even. Simple fix is to buy some real chips, but you've still got to pawn off those fake chips over time, and ultimately you HAVE to lose them, because you can't exchange them...as I already said. SCAM. No alcohol at the pool? What?? Psshh..baby Vegas. The buffet was terrible.  Vegas buffets are a lot bigger and with higher quality food.  Not recommended. Fewer TV channels than the hotel we stayed in on the California side earlier in the week, and for whatever reason there's an annoyingly long delay between changing channels.  Oh, and the "Montbleu Channel" is absurdly loud compared to the others. The Good: The $4.99 breakfast, if you're up early enough, was good. You have a casino in your hotel - this is only an option on the Nevada side of the California/Nevada State Line, and you only have three other choices. The drink specials were pretty crazy. Free parking in the Casino parking garage. Insider Info: Montbleu was (although under a different name) the main venue for the movie "Smoking Aces," which is a fun watch. The extras on the DVD are also quite enjoyable. Check the location of your room prior to agreeing to it. Don't take one near the middle, or you will hear noise from the maintenance staff in the morning. Parking in the Casino parking garage isn't patrolled - you can park there for free, regardless of whether or not you're staying at the hotel. The main shopping area and gondola aren't far from the casino - but the parking garage in that area is NOT free.

Probably the closest Vegas style casino the Tahoe is going to see. I have never stayed at this hotel but have been to the casino several times and have always enjoyed myself. The casino got a Vegas style face lift when it was converted from Caesars. This makes the casino look much nicer than the other run down casinos (Harrah's, Harveys and Horizon). If you are looking for a slightly more up to date gambling experience in SLT, then check out Montblue.

For Del Soul restaurant:Open 24 hours.Great, attentive and friendly not pushy waitress!!Frickin' hot Buffalo Wings - almost too hot and salty.  Our waitress brought us some lemonade to cut the hotness. The Seafood Chinese BBQ Pork Noodle soup should be called Fake seafood, three pieces of shrimp and 3 pieces of BBQ Pork with a bowl full of noodles!  I actually took out a lot of noodles and put it on the side of my plate, I tried eating the fake seafood-imitation crab and fish ball but ended taking the pieces out.  I did like the broth - nice and full flavor!  But I will never order that again - I don't care how cold it is outside!DH ordered the burger - which is why we came here b/c he saw it on the Tahoe Channel as a featured restaurant.  It was huge - two patties and nice bread.  He also chose curly fries - those were alright. If it wasn't for the waitress this place would have gotten One star! She was really great!Casino:Its off season.  It was dead.Bunch of locals and cotton toppers.
